why not hold both?

i only have precious metals as a insurance policy if the market and crypto tanks(they always dump together). If everything in my portfolio hits rock bottom on a massive market/crypto shit-dump, I can at the very least liquidate gold/silver when things stabilizes, and buy back into the market at rock bottom.

also, in mad max scenario, there are other ways to get silver

let's say that hypothetically all internet shuts down, etc etc, I have other assets at my disposal I could sell to get silver, yet monero could literally moon at any second and I know it would be stupid to not go all in

also who's to say silver would even be considered as currency, barter system works, there are many other things used as currency in prefiat society, gold, copper, etc

also the labor market will open up pretty substantially, and having a big pile of silver opens you to attacks
