yeah, they are presented as games for young girls. but if you play one, you'll see that's not true in the least. some of the puzzles are FUCKING hard. usually there's at least there's one per game that genuinely requires fairly complicated concepts.

for example, in one of them, you have to crack a letter-substitution cipher with almost zero clues. in another, there's a puzzle that *looks* simple - just some rotating, movable tiles that have to be placed such that their edges line up compatibly according to color and shape - but actually, it's incredibly hard to solve this one by trial and error. you basically have to make a table on paper diagramming out the placement of each tile and make a tree of all possibilities resulting from any given placement - its hard to describe but youll know what i mean when you get to that puzzle.

you will by the way need a notebook to play these games - sometimes using scrap paper to make cipher sheets is needed as well.

On second thought, Nancy Drew: The Silent Spy is probably the one that would appeal most to you all. Its just that you don't quite get the full effect if you don't play the other games first, and it spoils a lot of things that happen in those games.

The plot of this game is insane.

Basically, there is an underground organization that plans to subtly replace local leaders & then world leaders with people who are under their control - not knowingly, but each individually being blackmailed or influenced by someone that seems independent.

They plan to do this by releasing a biological agent that isn't very deadly, but will kill a few people, and severely sicken many. Sound familiar? Keep in mind, this game came out a decade before Covid.

During this crisis, agents from the underground organization, and the people unknowingly controlled by them, will suddenly appear as heroes in a time of need, having all the answers and being lights of stability in a confusing time.
