I'm 30 years old and taking the LSAT in April. I'm currently working in an appointed administrative government in a wealthy state (making ~$120k), but government sucks and I think I can do more through the private sector. Anyway, long story short, I'm considering either M&A or corporate litigation - which one will get me paid more and closer to "the club"?

Context: My LSAT target is a 165+ and my target school is a very well-known regional school that is outside of the top 40, but will secure me a great starting point if I graduate at or near the top of my class.

Thank you, /smg/. Also, this is related because I want to navigate market structure and leaders in my hopefully new profession.

don't live near mtns atm, any bike shop should let you try out a bike or event rent it to get a feel for it. I had a diamondback, you don't need full suspension unless you're trying to go hardcore downhill. hardtail is great because it's lighter. I enjoyed the long ride up and cruising back down fire roads, it was great exercise and awesome views.

full suspension looks cool but unless you are going downhill it offers little help, get a hardtail, 26" wheels are outdated 27.5" is a meme 29" is best but depends again what kind of riding you want to do. Get Shimano brand components that includes sram eveything else is expensive for no reason. i think disc brakes are gay but it's the norm now so to keep costs low make sure they are mechanical and not hydraulic because the service on hydraulic disk brakes are retarded. Get an aluminum frame for the same reason, if you're already complaining about price don't get anything else, steel is heavy as fuck so know that if you're looking at older bikes. Honestly though the concern on price point means this probably isn't the hobby for you maybe get like $100 running shoes and call running a hobby.

if you want 8+ weeks of gameplay, genuinely play the Nancy Drew game series

sound like kids games, and theyre labeled as such, but theyre actually some of the best point and click mystery games ever made. there's like 20 of them, and they're mostly about pretty normal stuff like art forgery etc, but as the games went along, the developers gradually introduced a weird superplot about aliens thats hinted to be real.

you want to know something else weird? these games never made a profit, for 20 years. the entire time, they were funded by an anonymous billionaire backer.

the series is over now - the last game is terrible, the second-to-last is kind of bad, and the first two are really old, but all the others in the middle are solid. also, unlike other point and click games like myst or w/e, the things you'll get stuck on are almost never random or bs-seeming, but things that make logical sense when you realize what they are. theyre really solid, although it does feel a little immature playing a game that has the hardy boys in it. they're fairly funny though - both intentionally and from the old cgi.

the first waves of crypto actually were offering something new over existing options, but that's basically over for now it seems - and whats left is just a profit opportunity for the most effective social engineers.

The Chief Accounting Officer put in his resignation a week or so ago on a Sunday after 2.5 yrs in the position.
Effective after earnings are reported, which is expected to be next Monday.

https://www.sec.gov/ix?doc=/Archives/edgar/data/0001321655/000119312523022771/d461787d8k.htm

It's currently trading at 7.95 per and the Feb23 (expires on the 17th) at $7.5 is .28 as of closing today.

If we bounce tomorrow they'll be cheaper.

Go through past earnings and you can see they usually miss and drop leading into the earnings date.

I don't see a 10 bagger with this play, but it will be profitable if you exit it either tomorrow on late day Monday.

well, they're not "just" car companies, they're car companies that can charge a premium as a luxury product (for mercedes) or as a semi-luxury, semi-safetyfirst product (volvo).

as more & more of the world gets to the stage where they can make their own basics - and china/india make plenty of cheap basic cars at this point - and more & more people get to where they afford more than the basics, all the profits will be in luxury, especially for brands that are aspirational across the 3rd world, and mercedes is in that position.

>>53652998
3rdworlders dont really give a shit about sports cars. they want a luxury living room on wheels, they want it super comfy, and they want it absolutely reliable.

if porsche makes another suv like the cayenne/macan, but makes it *actually* high end - 200k plus - and gives it unique, masculine styling - unlike the momcars that the cayenne/macan are - then they might have something.

these are not my personal opinions, i hate suvs, but this is the way things are going imo.

the main issue with EVs other than tesla remains charging. tesla superchargers will give you 200 miles of charge in 40 minutes. currently available "Level 3" other chargers take four or five hours to do that. its a huge barrier.

mercedes is supposedly planning to build its own network of supercharger equivalents which will be open to any EV to use - if they actually do that, it'll be like if a car company owned every gas station.

they just seem to be the only company eyeing Big Plans on anywhere close to the level of Tesla - and even if they dont pan out as planned, they have a solid lock on the global luxury market.

its apparently basically killed blizzard too. its not just that the trannies make the workplace annoying by being there, but also that the trannies + office women spend all fucking day nattering on slack and distracting everyone else.

the trannies also basically just stop working - nothing particular to them even, most people get lazy over time if they dont get nudged by the boss stick now and again, thats just human nature. but no one wants to say shit to the trannies or you get an earful about how theyre suffering as it is and how DARE you, "crunch" is worse than slavery, etc - and you basically cant fire them either, or rather, its easier for the company to just let them be dead weight than deal with firing them. and that plan would work if they were merely dead weight, rather than an active nuisance.

now of course there are some trannies that just autistically do an insane amount of work - but those are the actually autistic trannies. theyre fine. the issue is the ones who are really just normal beta males.

Natty gas will get a major movement after the 11th. Its a formality probably but Cheniere has to have a public hearing on reopening their plant. Once it's reopened by March commodity arbitrage will be on again. It costs probably 3-4$ to package and delivery natty gas to Japan or Europe. Their gas futures are priced at 16-18$ so US nat gas prices will go up because Cheniere will be sending 2% of the entire supply out globally.

Trannies almost killed the small business I worked at in 2021. And that was after all the weak men quit during covid. It was a double whammy (I hate that word that's how you know I mean it) and the only way to survive as a company is to hope the normal people are strong enough to outlast them when they (trannies) sorry, they/them, inevitably fuck up so bad that no one ignores it.

It’s very telling that the trappings of luxury are more appealing to third worlders than creating it themselves. How hard would it be to make a high-end SUV if you were an African dictator? You could bring in experts from western countries, import equipment and make your own line of quality vehicles, but no, you prefer to buy from white people because, frankly, these monkeys don’t have the attention span even to organize the effort. Small shops in the US, Europe, Japan and SK do this regularly, even going so far as fabricating their own chassis, engines and transmissions.

Does it really matter though? The market has spoken and $100+ billion in market cap was transferred from Google to Microsoft. Notice that Microsoft stock has barely declined over the past week while Google is down multiple percentage points. This market cap advantage will make it much harder for Google to regain the lead since Microsoft now has more capital with which to acquire AI talent and IP. As the AMD/Intel competition showed, once a tech incumbent loses the lead it's almost impossible to get it back. This business is all about mindshare and cool-factor and right now Microsoft is the "cool" zoomer company while Google looks like old boomer tech.
