Just stop giving a fuck, it's really that simple.

What kind of initiative do they want you to take? Who are they sending to you? Is it a large company or a small one?

sounds like everyone already quit and they are hiring random people to do the job of the people that quit. just take their money and dont get too worked up about who ever is talking to you and telling you to do things. start looking for another job. get into the mindset of you are already unemployed and this paycheck you are getting is just bonus money

yeah basically what is happening. not a bad shout, there is loads of work to do just no one to give me priorities, usually this is fine i just "manage upward", but recently they are looking for people to blame and anyone that actually tries to get anything done gets fucked over.

my team all left and now im here doing it alone but i built the entire system for this company and it supports multiple products, if i leave they all go pop and the basically our presence in europe just disappeares. maybe i care too much but I don't want to fail after building this for 5 years. maybe it is just over.

just make sure to stand up for yourself and keep all communication. people like to play politics in big bloated companies. i think you shouldnt attatch yourself too much o this company and be okay with letting it go. you can get attatched to anything if you spend enough time with it, even a prison. but the company itself doesnt care about you, and the people you are working for do not care about you

You didn’t answer my questions, but I’ll give you a tip anyway. There’s a billion and a half ways to defraud a company if you’re the only guy in a department, either leave or give yourself a raise. Start a service that’s mission critical and sell it to yourself

Save all the cash you can, look for another job and then just fuck around till you get fired, clock as many hours too.

Take initiatives. Google, YouTube, forums, linkedin fins people in your field ask them for advice.

So they fucked you by firing a bunch of people and blame you for shit getting worse.
Would be a shame if you just quit and everything went to hell.

Sounds like you're in a perfect position to make yourself unfireable.
Make everything in your department so convoluted and complex it would take you 6 months to train your replacement, abs be sure to drop hints around the office to reinforce it.

my apologies
>>53643240
bare in mind im literally just a developer. i run an essential data service for the whole business, i have no product manager so i have to write all the proposals and align all the team's priorities and then do the actual work myself to provide the data. if I can't do the work on time i get blamed, if i get a requirement wrong, i get blamed, if i pull someone up for not performing i get ostracised (this happened recently). 500 employees, i talk to everyone except the CEO and CFO.

>>53643809
the system is complex enough and they can't find any devs, nevermind ones to replace me.

>>53643716
I don't want to ditch them but as >>53643449 said, they don't care so why should i.
