Coding sucks. You have a ton of managers micromanaging your every minute, and most of the garbage you produce doesn't even last or make money. I'm sure no job is fulfilling, but I am thinking hard about going into something else. The money isn't even that good anymore; all the tech havens just increase CoL exponentially so the coders can't afford anything and the non-coders eat shit.

There pretty much is no ladder unless you want to become a service line lead which has probably like 4ish total in a general OR or management. First position you just need time at your place to prove your competency and take the job when another leaves or retires which could be years. For management it's the standard corporate shit

not a firefighter but I work in healthcare (BSN-RN pursuing my MSN and anesthetist board cert) and know a lot of fire fighters and even work with some when i got my EMT cert out of highschool
they make pretty good money and every fire fighter i knew had a nice boat, house and car somehow so youll have disposable income for investments. If you just want a steady stable career and a fat pension at the end of it youll be very happy at a good fire department. Theres also contracting jobs as well as teaching opportunities so youll be able to work more than one gig given youre only work 3 days a week
also the firehouse is pretty cool if its slow you literally just workout and hang with the boys having dinner and playing videogames.

it doesn't really matter as long as its white collar and thought work. if you're doing something with your hands you will be limited by physical constraints of how much labor you can give over time. it will also fuck your body over. You might be able to make 500 dollars in a day and do that 200 days a year and it's 100k. if you make 100 videos a year that make 100 dollars each you get 100k and then your work pays you another 100k the next year without any more work. and the next year, and the next year, and the next year. passive income streams are the ultimate life hack. buying RE to rent works too.
