I really don't understand this not wanting to discuss stock picks attitude. Noone likes a spammer, but suggesting different picks and why they are good is valuable. Discussing details of different companies help people understand.

Big merger news just dropped. Newmont has offered a 26% premium for Newcrest. I was actually looking at Newcrest a couple of months ago because it does offer relatively good value, brought it up in the general too.
Newmont is already the largest gold producer. They will get close to 10Moz with this transaction.

okay if we're in the mood for spitballing let me bounce first tellurium (tfel) off you guys. one of the few substantial Te producers in canada/us, acquired the klondike colorado property from first solar after FS decided they didn't want to mine their own. the us imports over half of it's Te from canada which is used for CdTe solar panels.

the question here i suppose is, will solar really take off as a viable renewable energy source? i think there will be a rush for this material even if it doesn't win the RE superbowl

Anyone know of UNG equivalents in Canada? Don't say HNU it's leveraged, unfortunately even HUN isn't exactly an equivalent as it seems to only hold January contracts so it's not at 2020 levels like UNG.

Interesting play. I am pretty confident solar energy is the future, but the majority of solar cells are silicon based and I don't think they use Telluride. First Solar is the only one producing their type of "thin film" modules as they call them, I think they have the patent on it. Also despite the name, First Tellurium doesn't really have a lot of tellurium yet, their BC project is very small and 95%+ a gold project. Then they have the other one in the US, but that's not drilled yet. Apparently cadmium, which is also used in First Solars cells, is very toxic. So I wonder if silicon cells aren't the future, I think cost wise there isn't much of a difference.

>> No.53591477

>>53591430

it looks like the futures have a bit more to fall, but there's no guarantee that hnu will follow this, as it follows sentiment and there's bound to be a scrabble near the bottom as people look for a deal.

full disclosure i bought last week but i probably could have waited a couple more weeks.

i read about that as well. there are factors at play in the silicon bit which im unfamiliar with, for example which is more efficient, and the many bans on chinese silicon panels on account of their use of forced labor. dunno how it will play out.

i only pick ftel bc i couldn't find any other small caps looking into, the only other two producers i can think of are swedish and australian which are fairly large. i'm personally priced out

Who here is planning to trade natural gas in the near term? It seems like a pretty ridiculous opportunity.

I'm trying to finalize a game plan. For now probably:
1. Buy HNU, maybe now, maybe around 2.00, maybe around 1.50
2. Pull out initial capital soon, maybe 1/2 at 2x or 1/3 at 3x (assuming I don't get my hands cut off with the falling knife)
3. Let the rest run for a while, ideally pulling out around when US LNG capacity increases

Any thoughts?

I got some groceries, some peanut butter
To last a couple of days
But I ain't got no speakers, ain't got no headphones
Ain't got no records to play
Why stay in college? Why go to night school?
Gonna be different this time
Can't write a letter, can't send no postcard
I ain't got time for that now
Trouble in transit, got through the roadblock
We blended in with the crowd
We got computers, we're tapping phone lines
I know that that ain't allowed
We dress like students, we dress like housewives
Or in a suit and a tie
I changed my hairstyle, so many times now
I don't know what I look like
You make me shiver, I feel so tender
We make a pretty good team
Don't get exhausted, I'll do some driving
You ought to get you some sleep
Burned all my notebooks, what good are notebooks?
They won't help me survive
My chest is aching, burns like a furnace
The burning keeps me alive

Considering the CEO owns over 45 million shares, this GV retard is small fish and his 100k followers are even smaller.

Go look at the actual facts of the project and not this stupid social media influencer noise.

Lithium pegmatites have existed on historically explored land for centuries, but they have not been economically viable.

All this land has been drilled out and the pegmatite intersects for many of the properties are known. They just haven't been assayed.

Im still bullish on SALT even though a large player is trying to FUD it.

My main focus is on PEI: a massively derisked heavy crude microcap with giant upside potential based on several factors which I will outline.
- they have over 400mm barrels of reserves in the ground, with recovery rates up to 40%
- currently, almost the entirety of their outstanding debt liabilities have been settled or restructured.
- Hit ATH of $0.15 SP with an NAV increase from $8mm to $56mm over the past year. That includes an increase to 1250 BOE/day from 230ish at the beginning of 22'
- assembling land packages as well with intent to scale. With existing assets they have a target of 10000 BOE/day by 2024 year end.
-They have a partner, Aduro Clean Technologies, that has a petroleum enrichment process in testing phases. They were able to take 8API oil and increase it to 17API oil. At scale, this would provide higher netbacks close to $10-20 over WTI.

There is more but you get the point.
My second focus is another pennystock lithium exploration play, BRW, whose main draw is the fact they have been assembling a sizeable landpackage (possible capital play) adjacent to PMET of all things. Reports are their Pegmatite fields run allong the same fault line that PMET has and PMET went from 20 some-odd cents to 16 fucking dollars over the last year.

Do you have an opinion on Rokmaster Resources, if you're familiar with it? It's a really small company with a relatively high grade gold deposit in BC, although the kicker is that they have to cough up 40 million bucks over the next few years as per their options agreement. Asking because it seems roughly similar to Canagold and figured you may have heard of it.

>> No.53609215

>>53609145
i ve brought up Rokmaster a few times, I looked into their project near Revelstoke two years ago, its been a while since i looked at them properly though. Their deposit was an odd one if i recall, almost plainer to the mountain, making it more like a coal mine than your usual gold mine. I ll have another look tomorrow if your interested.

I'm really more interested in how viable it is for them to get the cash because I don't know anything about gold streaming deals and such. Rokmaster's primary project, Revel Ridge has a lot going for it compared to a lot of the other juniors that are out there looking for money. For one they have infrastructure already built on site, including underground and surface. They have previous permitting, which speeds things along nicely. The only issue they have is their resource isnt attractive enough to bring in major investment, and much of the existing infrastructure is setup for old school mining, with rail, not modern haul trucks and scoop trams.

As for funding sources there are still a few groups out there that might be interested in funding the project, but probably not at current gold prices. I ll go do a real proper look at them compared to Canagold's project. Canagold has a better resource (i think?) but is going to be more costly to bring to market due to its remote location.

If you are talking about waste gas, produced as a byproduct of oil production billions of cubic meters are flared every month. Years ago when bitcoin was taking off someone fitted bitcoin mining rigs inside shipping containers with AC and brought them to some oil field and paired them with either ICE or turbine generators. The problem with the gas is the btu content can vary significantly as does the volume and pressure, but with enough wells you can meter it out. Some of the gas is too rich and is pumped back down if not flared.

I'm familiar with most projects at this point. Honestly I wouldn't even invest in Rokmaster if they didn't have option payments outstanding. Deposit is 6.3 g/t Aueq with an average width of 2.5m, so grade and width isn't that great to start with and then it's refractory, which is important because it adds cost. You would also rather just have 6.3 g/t gold than Aueq because they will have to pay for transport of concentrate to Chinese smelters and smelter + refining cost.
Canagold is coincidentally also refractory, but it's much higher grade at 10 grams and only gold, average width may be around the same. As Panman says rokmaster probably has a location advantage though and I assume easier permitting, but I don't think that's nearly enough to make up for its shortfalls.

It's good for gold.
The bull thesis being renewable energy and electric cars? I agree with that, demand will probably go up. But I think supply will keep up pretty well, we have rising supply from recycling too. There's just too much copper in the ground for me to be bullish on it. I always read all the news releases from @JrMiningNetwork and it's so common to see these huge intercepts of decent Cu grade over many hundreds of meters even 1000m.
The unkown is political instability in SA, that could very well cause some price spikes if large mines are shut down for long periods.

Rokmasters main property Revel Ridge has been explored off and on for around 50 years, the underground work was done in the 1970s and 80s, with little activity until Rokmaster took the property over. Due to the relatively low grade material, and its refractory nature, the property has had little interest from the wider mining world, though sporadic exploration has been going on pretty much every year since the 2000s. There are suggestions of a wider trend away in both directions from the main portal, but its uniform in low grade material. No significant float or outcropping material showing anything bigger hiding nearby either. Its an odd property, the location makes wider / deeper exploration challenging. I dont see a larger scale investor becoming interested in it any time soon.

This is a huge structure, for iron / magnetite, but i assume the real interesting elements here are the Vanadium right? Got anymore info on the project? I am not familiar with Vanadium but thats not bad numbers.

The numbers are from Vanadiumcorp (VRB), the lac dore and iron t projects in northern quebec. the lac dore region was compared to the bushveld region in africa which is one of the biggest producers outside of china which got me curious.

here is a link to the technical reports https://www.vanadiumcorp.com/investors/research/

VRB also does partnerships with universities and other companies/group to advance vanadium redox flow battery system technology which is touted as a potential Big Thing in the renewable energy race.

just from the numbers above its a pretty big deposit of vanadium, the grade is pretty good for concentrates, have they done any lab testing for recovery rate yet? Grade by assay in these sorts of metals / minerals can be tricky, especially with small percentages like above.

they seem to be touting a proprietary 'green recovery process'. they could be blowing smoke, but it's patent pending in six countries

i am no chemist so i cant comment on the "new" recovery process compared to the traditional roasting setup that most smelters use to recover vanadium. It could work but it could be vaporware.

First example would be petroteq, which was actually posted in this general half a year back when some random company offered to buy all shares for some insane 700% premium. Deal never happened and it was delisted a couple months back. Petroeq claimed to have a green tech for oil extraction which was only once showcased and "audited" by a random shell company.

Scottie raises $6.5M. Pretty good price considering no warrants, only a small discount for the normal shares.

Gram is a super smart miner. He knows that by raising money for his newly acquired Brandywine gold mine, the Bayhorse silver mine will produce more silver, even though Gram is producing at least 600,000 ounces of pure silver from the richest silver ore in the world. The bags of dirt stored in front of his non-operating Payette processing plant is a demonstration as to the plant's efficiency at processing the rich silver ore. The lack of a mining permit never slowed Gram down one bit.. Don't miss out on sucking down all the horsey sauce you can buy because this stock is gonna moon because of the world class PhD geologists, and getting a degree is geology requires a very special person.

ehhhh, renewables are cheaper than coal. nat gas btfos them. i'm an industry insider not that you faggots would believe me. of course that assumes gas at $4, if it's more then renewables win. unless you consider the fact that they can't just be "turned on" and require shitloads of storage to provide baseload and add a premium for gas. desu the subsidies are nice, but renewables can only win with a carbon tax or if they get cheaper still, because hydrocarbons are pretty fucking efficient.

For all the bros invested in SALT I'd highly recommend cruising over to ceo.ca/salt and checking out the thread. There's bros crunching the numbers and that conservative 4x the PEA stated is looking like an absolute, bare bones, conservative minimum and there's data showing that $10-40 is a much more realistic price for the stock.

I thought geology was a particularly difficult and nerve wracking major? How come the most "the best geology school in the US" has to offer are a bunch of freaks of nature?

>> No.53626285

>>53626258
It's really not lmao. It's not that fucking hard, it's just rocks, if you look hard enough most of what you need has already been written. You just add a couple boreholes of data and adjust the model to what you see in the field and you are good.

The reason for the freaks is that if you want to get a graduate degree in geology it can be pretty solitary, and since it's academia you're incredibly protected so you can be as much of a fuck up reject retard as you want and still get a job eventually.

I'll also add that as somebody who was a practicing engineer in the mining industry and interacted with plenty of geologists, most of them are normal and not freaks. For some reason it just attracted weirdos at my undergrad. Also idk why you had to quote that shit. We've been top 3 in geology for the last 5 decades.
