I think I may have ADHD, like actual ADHD not retard can't focus shit but more like I start fucking jumping and dancing and I go to search something but midway I start doing something else.

I am very smart and trough school I was the best of my class (of 400 people) so I nor my parents ever suspected a thing.

Should I get a diagnosis or start taking medication?

I kind of want to take Adderall to be super productive but I am always scared of becoming too dependent on drugs just to live.

link? why would the DEA restrict legitimate manufacturers from buying precursors? that makes no sense. the FDA says it's a supply chain issue, but makes no mention of the DEA, which obviously can't regulate foreign manufacturers either.

I always did well in school so I never needed adderall, but I had/have all of the classic symptoms of ADHD. In my junior year of college I got a prescription, and it’s very helpful if I have a lot of work to get done. That being said it absolutely has side affects (for me; maybe not for you). The largest side affect was that my internal monologue became a lot meaner. I was never outwardly an asshole because of adderall but I was absolutely internally an asshole. I think it’s a natural consequence of being laser focused and being relatively smart. You just won’t have patience for stupidity. Also I would see fire at night so I don’t really take it anymore unless I really want to grind out a project. I don’t understand how people get addicted to adderall.

I got a 3.9 GPA in my undergrad and a 4.0 in grad school and it's been incredibly easy to find a job since graduating even though I never had an internship

Got on ADHD meds last week - 100% this.
I had gotten a depression diagnosis last year, those meds didn't do shit - I was only depressed because I knew I wasn't living up to my potential and was stuck in an insane rumination spiral I couldn't control due to ADHD.
