Well said. I applied to 200+ jobs across various job sites and only received a few auto rejections through e-mail. Most of them just ghosted me. No interviews or calls back.

Most of these jobs I met 80%+ of the explicit requirements and they were entry level positions.

Eventually I just started working odd jobs for relatives and ended up buying a small tire shop with an SBA loan. I only make $80K/year now, but I only show up 2-3 hours a day on average.

You should be shooting for a 10-15% response rate for phone screening or assessment. 5% minimum. Getting 1 response from 80 apps means your resume and cover letter need to be improved or you are applying for jobs way above you. I recently applied for 200~ jobs and was getting a next step for about 13-14% of my apps and ended up receiving 2 good job offers. All kinds of bs happened to me during this process (position gets cancelled after my 3rd interview, interviewers didn’t show up, someone else interviewed me because the hiring managers forgot about it etc.) but it’s a numbers game. Try LinkedIn, I hate that website but they have good job postings. Fix your resume and apply for 200+ jobs.
