Do any fren knows how to restore old silverware? Specifically forks who have bent tines and handle, and spoons with deformed bowl for example.
What are you using to clean silverware? I know about the tinfoil + baking soda + hot water trick to remove tarnish, but i mean to polish/make it shiny without damaging the silver?

To put it in context, over the past few months, i gathered a collection of pre-revolutionary silverware.
Now i've 20 of them (10 forks / 10 spoons) and i was thinking about making a silverware set for myself i'd use for special occasions and flex on my guests, and since most of the tableware ended up having an identical design it's perfect.

But obviously, since they are 250-300yo, most aren't in a great shape, they are all bent and dirty. Thankfully back in the day they used to make pretty heavy stuff (they weight 3oz each lol) so it shouldn't break if i twist them a bit.
But i've no idea how to proceed and i'm a bit afraid to manipulate those items...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Heat the parts you're looking to bend up with a torch. Not to glowing, judt enough to make the metal pliable. Gently tap them back into shape with a brass hammer. You'll most likely have to heat them and beat them several times to get them to the apprpriate shape without overly fatiguing the metal.
For polish I use Hagerty silverfoam, and maintain with a hagerty silver cloth. It has two sides, a tarnish remover and a polishing side. Once cleaned and polished you can just wash them in warm water with a mild dish soap like any other flatware.

Both are very unlikely.
The handles most likely are silver filled (half a mm thick of silver, then filled with resine), and for the blade it's probably steel. Silver blades only are used for fruits and dessert knives.

From my experience, knives always ends up being a bad deal. Like out of 410g, you may end up with 60g of silver in the end, and the rest being worthless. If i'm right, then £35 indeed is too much. Personally i always avoid knives after too many deceptions.
