The gist of it appears to be decentralized privacy tech, so far it looks like users can attest credentials without doxxing themselves. I could see this carving out a niche as an intermediary service, especially in the crypto space where reputation, accomplishments, "street cred" are everything but people still like to remain anonymous.

To be fair, it's really early days for this project, so I guess the skepticism makes sense from a timing standpoint.

He was selected for a bounty to make frontend displays for the project, and did so by submitting his proposal on the original twitter post Meaning he found the project and wanted to work on it.
Main dev continues to work, with Steven S. having finished his side, but has already said he would be happy to do more work further down the road. New bounties have been issued and more developers are working.
