Is being a Medical doctor a good ticket to building guaranteed generational wealth?

>> No.53483935

It's 8 years of school and 3-7 more years of working like a dog for average income. It's also incredibly difficult and has a very high attrition rate. My wife is a doctor. I'd say it's worth it only if you have a passion for medicine

Either that or a good ticket to drinking yourself to death

As in if you make the selection cutoff you are set to make big money. No layoffs or constant grind of finance or computer science. You make it through your fellowship and it’s 20 years of 45 to 50 hour work week monday through Friday

no. it's the most wagecucked profession in the world. you will have literally no life from age 18 to 33-35. and the prize at the end of the tunnel is a measly $200-500k/year, probably much closer to $200k/year unless you're smart and lucky enough to match into the competitive, high paying specialties. this sounds like a lot of money only if you're poor. in reality you're just a high paid wagie.

t. dropped out of a US MD school after 1 semester

>As in if you make the selection cutoff you are set to make big money.
your salary is literally controlled by CMS (centers for medicare and medicaid) reimbursement schedules. pathology, for example, has been destroyed as a specialty.
>No layoffs or constant grind of finance or computer science.
continuing professional education requirements say otherwise.

Prisoners aren’t bad, my first boss was a felon who did time for beating a man to death. The skills he learned managing prison gangs of dysfunctional low iq fuck ups and passed on to me have made me the manager I am. I always kek when my work culture is compared to a prison.

Pretty much you can be as much of a hard ass and have high expectations as long as you are a fair across the board and swiftly punish the fuck ups. People will tolerate a lot and be happy if the lazy retard at work is ridden like bitch.

Nah I think it will be over for the drs that can’t code or do business

It’s going to be like the Np situation. You are going to have a dr to stamp the output of the AI as a check, much like an engineer stamp

Soon to graduate doctor (also euro) here, in my opinion it's like one of the not boring careers. You have to be with very brutal or otherwise special lives all the time and see all kinds of shit you would otherwise only read about. You also get to affect other peoples lives bigly, sometimes changing them forever. A genuine thank you that a patient gives from the bottom of the heart makes life feel like it "matters". Being some kind of engineer just doing code or whatever sounds incredibly boring to me. But i agree that you need a passion for helping people because there is so much to study and so many people to help. That said, stable income is the cornerstone of making it big with investing and there is no stabler or bigger income than doctors have. Otherwise you have to resort to get rich quick schemes.
