I resigned a few days ago and have a long notice period. My manager took away most of my responsibilities and my job was bullshit anyway.

Currently spent the morning reading a book. I have maybe 45 minutes of work to do later today and then it's back to reading.

Been having to work a bit today, but with it being friday it will likely die down and I'll just watch movies or play Morrowind for the second half of my shift.
Been thinking of picking up an MMO to play while on the clock. Any recommendations on something free/private server based?

Eh, MMOs are fine as long as its not of the WoW verity where you need unbroken attention for things like dungeons/raids.
I enjoy the much slower gameplay of Everquest (Project 1999), or even playing MUDs.

Its fun. Never played EQ back in the day, but ended up having a lot of fun on there. The community was super friendly and tons of people were willing to go out adventuring even with a total noob like myself. Genuinely felt like playing an MMO in the 00s again, where people actually socialized and didn't play like it's a single player game.

I do 5 minutes of work every 40 minutes. I'm essentially a (mediocre-ly) paid NEET. If i get a new job i'm tempted to keep this one for at least a few months, but i wonder if i can get away with it through onboarding.

i've never been this comfy. i quit my last job because they wouldn't let me work remote. now i have a remote job, which is far easier, and pays the same wage as the hamster-wheel in office slave job that was literally killing me. God is good.

tech sales

but more so tech consulting - we do custom software projects for clients and I'm the one that talks to the client, figures out the tech required and determines a price/timeframe and writes the proposal. Pretty simple job, 180k OTE last year. more than 3/4 of that is commission so I really have to work my ass off.

There's a lot of sitting around and waiting for people to get back to you though - so for hours you'll have nothing to do and then all of a sudden you'll have 20 things to do and no time to do them
