I need help /biz/. How do I fix my shit and unfuck my life before my parents pass away disappointed in me? Would join the army or something but I'm a type 1 diabetic so I can't.

If this were me, the first thing I would do is try to get hired at any job I could find. Fast food, warehouse, customer service, stocker, etc. This would be short term as in 1-3 years. The reason being is it would give me the opportunity to improve my soft skills and get me into the flow of working again after the layoff. The next thing I would do is on my time off I would be actively trying to gain a new skill to give me better job opportunities for the future. Either self study, school, or trying to become an apprentice under someone. Baby steps anon.

You have to work on all your bad habits. Get a nice clean comfy life. Early to bed/rise, exercise, don't spend too much time idling away the hours on stupid time wasting shit. Once you're a well put-together person, then you can pursue a career.

Ah yes this is very important and should be the first step. Clean your room, exercise, eat healthy, go outside in the sun, etc.

Similar situation to yours anon so I know how you feel, only that my retarded family needs me around with my mothers health problem so I cant move right now even if I wanted too which is depressing.

The consensus is get any wagie job, I just went through the process while having social anxiety and a bunch of other mental problems. You need to understand that half the planet are even worse retarded dysfunctional retards then you are so no need to feel bad. All you need to do is play a role half way decent from the moment you leave the house until you get back.

Most important advice I got was treat the resume as historical fiction. Lie, fill in the gaps, exaggerate. Writing a resume is an intelligence test and if you don't do all the above you failed. Everyone else does it and you cant check shit. If you are going to go looking for jobs with an 18 month gap its better to not even go, fill it with nonsense beforehand. Its easy now because you can say that you were freelancing from home writing articles or teaching asians English online or some other shit. For the love of Jesus just write a good resume with a bunch of lies, its literally how you are supposed to do it.

Do you at least have a car? If so, sign up for Doordash, UberEats, Instacart, and any car based gig app that you can. If nothing else, you can start making money while you apply for real jobs. Even if it's just 50-100 bucks a day, it's better than sitting around doing literally nothing.

And if you're good at it and dedicated, you can make serious money. My friend multi-apps and makes minimum 300-400 per day, although granted that is driving around for 12 hours per day, 1,000 miles per week, but money is money

Good advice anons, thanks. I don't have strictly shitty habits, I work out regularly, cook food, etc. but I definitely spend too much time on useless bullshit. Doing some online lrn2code courses as well rn but jesus it feels like a shit time to be trying to go down that route. Getting a wagie job sounds horrible though, I live in a small town and the thought of someone I know coming in while I'm stocking shelves at walmart or flipping burgers at a&w sounds painful & pitiful.

>>53435679
Resume advice sounds good. I'm a terrible liar though.

I do have a car, don't people break even if their lucky with that kind of gig job once you factor in gas, car wear & tear, etc?

I used Chat GPT to write mine and had amazing results. Obviously you have to tinker with it an edit it but I feel that after the bulk of the work is done by a wave of a mouse its way easier. In terms of lies just use half truths, I for example used some work I did years ago and put it as something recent and stretched it for en extra year. They are going to be most interested in your recent employment and why you left it and shit so you need a story for that. We cant afford truth at our situation brother, maybe one day we are going to be rich enough to tell the truth but not today. If you really dont want to lie that you freelance content managed for a company with blog clients you can worse case lie that "family member" had a health issue and you had to take care of them, had savings had no choice. What they care about at wagie jobs is that you can jump through hoops and telling them what they want to hear on the job interview is the first of those hoops. Good luck and we are all going to make it.

>I do have a car, don't people break even if their lucky with that kind of gig job once you factor in gas, car wear & tear, etc?

I'm sure it depends on where you live. If you're in a rural area or a small town, then yeah you won't make that much. But if you're in a bigger city (like 300k+) you can do pretty well. Like I said, I have a friend who routinely makes $400 per day doing gig work. Even if he spends one tank of gas per day, that's still like $350 profit. More than you make at a lot of wageslave jobs, and if you wake up one day and don't feel like waging, you don't have to.

It's worth trying OP. If you do it for a week and don't like it then you don't have to continue doing it. But if you're able to sign up, it's some of the easiest work you can do. Literally just drive to restaurant pick up bag of food and drive to a person's house. Most of the time now you don't even have to interact with customers. You just put it on their doorstep and leave. It's definitely one of the easiest jobs you can do for the money. There was even an old guy in Los Angeles who made over 100k one year just doing Doordash or Ubereats, not even multi-apping. Obviously you probably won't make that much anywhere else, but the point is that a lot of people make enough money doing gig work to do it full time

Go apply to Amazon, you have the potential for overtime every week in some buildings, oh and after 90 days they will pay for a bachelors degree. Do a CS degree for free and you got a good job when you leave Amazon.

>> No.53437766

yes, thinking what "someone I know maybe might think of me" is no way to live a life and the sooner you understand it the better. Only the opinions of those closest to you can sort of matter but if they are really close to you they know the truth about your life anyways and just want to help you. If you are really autistic and feel that the hit to your reputation is going to be too much just come up with some sort of surrogate activity to justify your current lot in life. Like :"I am studying to be a pilot/CPA/writing a novel/working on my start up but meanwhile purposefully took this shitty job to pay bills untill my course is over and so that I know where I end up if I fail haha no shame in honest work". I would advise you to go one step further and actually take concrete steps in making your future better. If nothing else will make the story easier to sell.
