>dad is a teacher and often goes to dry cleaners to have his suits dry cleaned
>wonder how do they "dry clean" clothes
>if it is "dry", it wouldnt involve liquid, it must be solid or gas

>fast forward to years later
>go to dry cleaner and asked them how do they do it
>they use a liquid named "perchloroethylene"
>childhood ruined

>2023
>unironically want to be dry cleaner so bad
>there is a dry cleaner a few blocks away from where I live
>they need new empolyees but "experience"
>no experience

What should I do, anons? I am having dreams about being a dry cleaner and i watch dry cleaners from far

Unironically go in there and explain how you've been fascinated by dry cleaners since you were a kid. Offer to take lower pay until you know the ropes. I can't imagine a dry cleaner would turn down someone who was enthusiastic and wanted to learn unless they were desperate for someone who they didn't need to teach. Also, you're obviously autistic so dial it back 20 percent when you go in to ask.

What should i say? I never applied for a job and i'm too shy to ask. I wanted to be a dry cleaner for the last 3.5 years and i have visited dry cleaners just to ask about how do they do it, how does the machine work etc. I am aware that this is a weird interest anf i tell that i wanted to be a dry cleaner to someone who works in this industry, i would probably get mocked.

I'd go in and tell them what your situation is and ask if they have any pointers for you when interviewing. If nothing else, you'll get over some of that fear of the unknown.
When you go in to apply, aim for dressing 20% nicer than the person you usually see working there. It'll make you look clean and responsible without going overboard. [Clean shoes, and (probably) ironed shirt and khakis. I'm guessing a tie would be overkill, but I guess that would depend on the way the shop presents itself.]

I'm guessing the best way to make it in dry cleaning is by focusing on wedding dresses. That way you can charge massive markups for a premium product. My wife spent something like $600 getting her wedding dress cleaned, and then more on top of that for them to fold it up and put it in a box. I wish I was joking.
But the downside is that it's all hand drycleaning, meaning you (or more realistically your wagie Jeet employees) will have to physically handle the toxic chemicals.

I talked with a manager of a dry cleaner today and expressed my interest in dry cleaning. He said that he was working as one for 35 years and loved the job but tried to discourage me by explaining how toxic the solvents were ("they can destroy your body" etc.) It didn't work on me, I said that I liked chemicals despite their toxicity. He was amazed at my interest. He then brought a special stain remover solvent to demonstrate how irritating the solvents were. He handed me a stain remover solvent that was supposed to "change my mind". It smelled mild and sweet while he almost choked. He said that I was "too young" to be a dry cleaner
In conclusion, I'm not discouraged. I still want to be a dry cleaner.
