This, if AI were even remotely comparable to what a human mind can do we would have had widely-available self driving cars looong ago.
People talking about AI singularity totally ignore computing limits, and the reality that even a menial task like driving a car that even a retard can learn in a couple weeks, is too complicated for an artificial intelligence to do with years of training and petabytes of data to learn from.
AI is good for what regular computing is good for, ie very logical math like tasks. That's why the first jobs to be replaced by AI will be coding jobs.

>writing perfect essays
Not really, a chatgpt compared to a human written piece is miles away, first and foremost AI structure is too "perfect", the style is non existent like if it took the dictionary and just strung what made sense together.

With a piece written by a human you can see how the person processes ideas, the little language quirks, repeated words and phrases that make it unique to said person. Even the way it frames ideas.

If I had a student sent me an AI written essay I would spot it right away and fail the lazy dumb fuck that couldn't string 2000 words together and tell him to drop out of college and become a carpenter or a taxi driver because college is not for him

>nitpick the essay to death, drop points until it's an F and then just give them a zero
>raise standards for just that essay so if it's not PhD level in its analysis and usage of sources, it's an F
>say you suspect cheating and bring them in to re-write the essay by hand during office hours with no internet usage, when they fail to produce something on the same level fail them in the entire course and report them to the dean for eventual expulsion (no refunds lol)

The standards are subterranean, why even cheat? Just parrot your teacher's political views back to them and take your A-.

I knew a guy who had such a professor a few years back and it was really easy to stop them, he just documented every interaction with them and the professor had to stop being so aggressive. I once had 2 students that had exactly the same final grade, I docked points from one of them to fail them because he was an insuferable bastard and passed the other with a full extra point because I like the guy and he always participates in class even if he isn't the most brilliant guy of the bunch

The thing is professors trying to grade unfairly don't usually grade everyone else exactly the same way. If the student can rub their brain cells together talking to other students they'll realize something is wrong, so will the dean, so will other professors working in your same department if the student goes and talks to them about their work. The great crypto bull run has only just begun. All who hold long term and do not panic at the highs and lows will prosper beyond belief. This is the great transfer of wealth from the old and corrupt system to a new system of truth and justice. The blockchain era is upon us. In a few years you will be free. For now, be patient, be vigilant, be strong, be determined.

>AI is good for what regular computing is good for, ie very logical math like tasks. That's why the first jobs to be replaced by AI will be coding jobs.
No you retard. ChatGPT and all other current gen AI is specifically terrible at logical math tasks. It just makes shit up. Current AIs can write reasonable sounding stories and make almost passable art, but they can't make any significant software without it being riddled with bugs and not really worth using at all. Often when you ask them to make just a single function, it will make something that looks good at a glance, but doesn't work if executed.
Software dev is one of the last things AI will replace. Once an AI can write full complexity applications on its own, it can bootstrap itself into being a god tier 300 IQ monster given enough compute, and humans will be basically worthless for doing any kind of work. Don't worry though, we're a few years to a few decades away from that. What AI does right now is generate noise within the bandwidth of human perception. They're really good at tricking you into thinking the output is meaningful.
Actually that's kind of more spooky. ChatGPT is more like an insect than a person, yet it can fool the fuck out of most people. Actual future AI could shit on us, tell us it's raining ice cream, and most people would believe it.

He’s right. Essays are about muh feels, esp when the prof feels for the female writer. Wink wink nudge nudge. There was this old ass professor who spit everywhere when he talked. He gave this cute girl an a+ for writing about her puppy. This was before puppy memes but after casting couch. But he gave me a d- for writing about being weird and trying to find my place in society. When I confronted him about it, he did the typical what do you mean by society and this word and this word.

It's a corporate produced model, not some military shit. Corporations put out their best shit as fast as possible, or even faster than possible by lying a bit. They have no fiscal incentive to hide better, functional models.
And ChatGPT is not impressive at all when it comes to writing code. Specialized models like Copilot are far better, yet still mostly useless outside writing snippets. And what is Copilot used for? Developers are using it to increase their own efficiency by letting it write boilerplate. Software developers, like all engineers, are unique among workers in that they never winge about new technology replacing them. They just use it. Software devs will become increasingly effective using AI, making shit you didn't know you wanted, right up until the singularity.

It's designed to be this way because its main use is to censor and compartmentalize dissident parts of the internet by posing as other humans, the possibilities of it are endless for them, and them making it public is just a public beta test to see how it would work and how they can improve upon it. This carries much scarier implications than anyone thinks. True dystopia is just around the corner.

We're already in a simulation (or at least I am, and you're all part of the simulation) and we are being prepared to be awakened like in the matrix, accept we'll not be awakened into the "real world" but into another simulation.

Once the matrix/VR become "real" (which will likely be near the end of my "life"), we will be on our death beds and be plugged into virtual reality to live forever and then we'll "wake up" and someone will tell us it was all a sub-simulation, and that we're now in the "real" simulation.

It's a complex idea but it adds up

Just look at whats happening right now in our lifetimes. We are being prepared to be awakened. We are being introduced and desensitized to AI/VR right now.

Thats exactly what the matrix was.

Also, if the universe *can* be simulated, theres a greater infinity of simulated universes than there is "real" universes.

But also: What is "real"? The more we study quantum physics the more it looks like we're in a reality we can't understand in classical terms. They've proven that when we don't interact with an object (including light bouncing off of it) it doesn't exist. The more we study the nature of the universe the more it looks like a simulation.
