First it’s just
>”I’m only stacking for weight”
Then it’s
>”I also started collecting some of the cooler rounds and coins I like too”
Now it’s
>”why yes I did just spend half my monthly wage on a historical mint condition numismatic coin of a based medieval ruler I like… how can you tell?”

Stacking metal has sent me down a rabbit hole I will never financially recover from. Now I’m not just buying bullion, I’m buying a fuck ton of historical numismatics and memorabilia too. I’m fucking addicted and I don’t even know why. Where does it end for me?

Copper *is* expensive. It has gone to just over $4/lb, and companies that make 'things' of of it have to add labor and manufacturing costs. The lowest dealer retail price I've seen is about $9.50/lb for 20 lbs of scrap wire (rotometals). Google "copper counter tops" for info on sheets. The least expensive stamped (or etched) copper bars I've seen are a 10-lb bar for $120 from Coperheadbullion and JM Bullion's 5-lb bar (not the cube) for almost $60.
But sheets... good luck.

Annual output is 880Moz, but 60% of it is destined to the industrial sector, so it leaves the investors only 350Moz to play with.
Lets presume only 250K ppl want silver, that's 1400oz per head.
It's literally nothing. India alone imported 8000T of silver in 2022 (256Moz). That's over a quarter of the worldwide production just for one country!

At this point only the desperate JPM shills and full blown retards aren't gigabullish on silver. Especially now we know the chineses' solar production factories adopted the HJT standard (2.5x more silver needed). Don't waste your time with them fren, thats more cheapies for us.

I'm facing an odd situation frens.
I ordered antique (1760) silverware (4x forks 4x spoons) on ebay from a new seller. The order arrived, but it doesn't correspond AT ALL to the pictures and description of what i bought.

That said, there are more pros than cons : it's older, rarer items. They are monogrammed, the hallmarks are in great condition, and it's weighting more (40gr) than expected.
The con : the condition is far worse, especially the forks' tines who are all bent, and the spoons' bowls who are bent and dented.

Overall i think i'm happy with the deal, but i'd like to know what would you do in my situation. Should i try to haggle over the condition and the fact it's not matching the description at all?
How much would you ask (for ref. : i paid 420€ for 640gr -who ended up being 680gr) ?

I'll add few pics to illustrate my case. Pic rel are the spoons from the announce.

>wrote to Paul Volcker regarding the gold issue that "the distribution of … world [gold] reserves would be highly inequitable, with eight wealthy countries getting three-fourths, while the developing countries would get less than 10 percent." The Europeans thought about this problem, and they helped solving it by equalizing gold reserves internationally.
The thing about returning to the gold standard is that you want reserves to ~match GDP as it is now to facilitate trade and avoid some shithole becoming immensely wealthy overnight. The eurozone have been distributing/storing gold accordingly for a long time and could transition very easily if (((no-one))) would have a hissy fit about them doing so

The deflationary petiods were either the result of production growtyh exceeding monetary growth or in the case of the deflation from1873 to 1879 but that was entitely due to the US government removing the greenback from circulation.

During that "depression" there was deflation if 3% yet the economy grew 7% per year and real wages also rose which meant peoplr were enjoying a drastix increase to living stanfards.

Exactly how I think of silver is how an MMO would, like for example once you reach 99 silver coins it becomes a whole gold coin. I can just trade in my silver for a gold ounce once I reach a high amount there really shouldn't be a vs what's better their charts look almost identical except on a day trading scale but that shouldn't matter too much

With enough fear these people also can be persuaded of absolutely anything within a few months. When Russia was having its usual issues they paid teachers in vodka for a time out in Siberia. They evidently got by OK for the time being, and vodka is pretty inconvenient compared to silver or gold.
People and companies that have things I want to buy are smart enough to find a way to do business and make money if USD becomes a bad option. The rest are sheep that will get swept along, no different than today.
I agree that I don't know about the viability of using flakes of silver, that's why we have stuff like silver dimes and copper cents.

A real gold standard doesn't involve holding gold in reserve. Gold CIRCULATES! That means a country that happens to have or produce a lot of gold uses it to buy imported goods from more productive countries so the gold flows out - much like dollars have been flowing into China. The difference is that the USA can print more dollars to fill the gap while gold cannot be printed so eventually it runs out and then the country needs to produce goods and services to trade for gold to get back in the game. All the talk about balancing gold reserves is irrelevant in a true gold standard where gold actually circulates and moves into private hands rather than bank/government hands.

Krug is a better coin to play with though, pure gold doesn't sound as nice and is softer, but as additional options to a Krug I'd also look at the 100 Kronen, Centenario etc. as finger-friendly options.

>No, it was his first sale and he doesn't have anything else in store. Shady stuff..

The pieces certainly have more wear but don't look too horrible, the hallmarks are indeed quite nice. Since it was a new seller I assume he wasn't very organized and accidentally sent you a set that he hadn't listed for sale yet, maybe he had his wife pack it for shipment and she grabbed the wrong set. I think it was an honest error, but if you feel like it you definitely have grounds to request a discount. It looks like the set shown in the pictures may only have been monogrammed on the reverse of the handle with those small "NM" or WN" letters, and if they don't have monograms on the front side they would be more valuable to people who want to old silver to use. Since the set you got was in worse condition and if the set you thought you purchased wasn't monogrammed on the front then you have a good argument for either getting a partial refund, or arranging to buy the set you won at a discount. He may be very anxious to please you since he's a new seller and would have his reputation ruined by a bad feedback.

I won this batch the other day, not as old as your pre-revolution French stuff but it has a couple pieces of nice American coin silver which I've become quite fond of, I really like the babby mustard ladle spoons. I suspect it's around 120g of sterling and .900 coin silver, I paid $34.85 total (used more CC goypoints so only $14.85 out of pocket). Will report back upon arrival. Happy hunting down the antique cheapies frogfren.

Please don't challenge anons' beliefs. Stackers (especially silver stackers) believe in a tale of the past and a prediction of an apocalyptic future. Much like simple-minded religious folk, their beliefs, as daffy as they sound and as fallable as they are proven, are sacred to them. That's why challenging their beliefs is treated as heresy, and the stackers get defensive and lash out.

Anyone bought from Acheter-or-argent before? I'm scouting out for some coins to buy when gold inevitably dips again, and they seem to have some decently low premiums on historical gold coins, and the supply on celtic gold seems to be drying up. They're trust-pilot score isn't quite impeccable, so any tales of previous experience would be appreciated.

>> No.53357115

>>53352404
Such bullshit on several levels. There will NEVER be a house to house confiscation of PMs. First of all, there is no reason for a government that has much bigger problems to chase after minor quantities of widely distributed PMs. Second, the cost in blood would be unacceptable. Cops are not going to die for some silly economic scheme they don't understand. And there will never be enough Federal agents to do much of anything without local law enforcement. Third, but not finally, the moment a confiscation were to get started, PMs would vanish into a million holes in the ground. Making PMs illegal will be even less effective than the War on Drugs because PMs can't be detected with dogs.

So shove it up your ass, fudfag. You are not anyone's friend.

Both of your arguments are shit. Both can be used. Goldbacks are a small fractional of gold that can be used instead of "flakes" and silver can be used because of how wide spread it is. But in the end digits currency will be the standard because it is easy and people are used to it.
If you looked in everyone's wallet you came across you would find very little fiat, you would find less PM's but on each of them you would find a piece of plastic that has a number giving them access to their "money" and maybe another one that gives them access to someone else's "money".
Metals have a place and it's as a diversified investment, collecting, SHTF, and bartering/trading, and as a global standard of value.

I don't think it's going to be preppers vs feds. I think most of the feds will stop showing up to work when they realize that the government has run out of money and is giving them IOUs that it never intends to pay back, and the ones remaining won't be the high IQ types.

Also, I just read what I took the time post (why do I read stuff only *after* I post?). It seems it means they didn't buy from the manufacturer. Which means dings possible.
It also implies everything else they buy comes direct from the mints. That's an interesting tidbit.

I would say get both. Get a double sovereign 2022 jubilee with the queen for collectible, (Double sovereigns are a 1/2 ounce of gold) ..then get 1/2 once gold brittania of 2023 King charles. That gives you one ounce of gold and a nice variety

When PMs are remonetized, the US government will be struggling just to keep the lights on in the Capitol.
