Whenever lightning network comes out, or another feature. There is no coin out right now that can scale. Some coins are only cheap because no ones uses them. Others can only do faster transactions though the use of centralized nodes.

Bitcoin and Eth are currently doing around 5-10 tx/second, while there are tens of thousands of credit card transactions a second. Even if some coins can scale marginally better, even 4-8x at cost to other aspects such as storage and distribution, that is nothing compared to where it needs to be.

There is going to be a breakthrough, like LN, that will take crypto to the next level. And if some alt does that then bitcoin can just incorporate that, and the world is heavily invested into bitcoin and will continue to use it. There is no reason for trillions of dollars to pour into some rent seeking alt chain.

I've never cashed out all of my alts at once before because I feared a crash, but this time there's about a 90% chance that it's coming before new years. And if I'm wrong, I'll happily pass up 2 weeks of potential gains rather than risk losing 70% of my stack.

At this point I'll buy back in at $10.5k and accumulate the same alts as I held before, unless some horrible news pushes it below that.

Most normies are selling at a loss so they will not be back ever. This crash spooked the weaker hodlers. The bigger fry was spooked by trade tax. Long time holders are cashing out their positions so they have profit whatever happens. No more pumps because of investigation. Media are saying the bubble burst. Expect news of normies killing themselves, crying how they lost it all or got huge loans. Other people that are still holding will be mocked like before 2014 levels so the medium hodlers will sell too if they are still in profit. Coinbase daytrading is just becoming news so most US somewhat normie holders are spooked.
