Shill me on Cosmos/Atom. Been interested in diving in and buying some. What's the suicide/make it stack?

I own a very small ATOM stack but ill buy more if other anons mention why they bought it. What would be a make it stack for this coin? I bought some myself because it does have some good projects in its ecosystem.

atom is inflationary but you get 20% interest currently so it only punishes those that don't stake.
If you buy this coin you need to stake it.
This also incentivizes atom holders to not sell

The inflation is elastic/proportionate to the amount staked. The other day someone said you are losing 2% interest staking atom as the inflation rate is greater than the staking rate.

This is not true and it never was

The current inflation rate is ~14%
The current staking reward rate is ~20%

So this coin has constant sell pressure from massive releases of the supply?

>> No.53291261

>>53291233
>constant sell pressure
that depends, you can sell your rewards, or you can compound them, and earn even more. In addition to that, there is a 14 - 21 day unlock vesting schedule, so if you do decide to dump your stake, you have to wait between 2 to 3 weeks before you can. The rewards howver you can always sell, unless you are auto compounding with a validator.

I think most atom holders just stake the rewards.
>ETH
>BTC
>ATOM
those are my 3 coins I will never sell, unless something terrible happens.

Also, with Cosmos apps like persistence and Stride, you can liquid stake your Atom, allowing you to earn staking rewards, as well as use the staked asset issuance to earn additional rewards such as liquidity farming on places like Osmosis. Liquid staking will be huge for Defi in the future and Cosmos already has 3 apps doing this, not just for Atom but for Ethereum as well including other Cosmos coins.

You could stake your atom, earn rewards on that, then take those rewards and LP farm them, earning rewards on those in the form of Osmosis or Evmos or any other pool on Osmosis. Rinse and repeat.

Or you could just sell them. But you see the incentive to just continue to stake/LP Atom right?

Vitalik keeps talking about cosmos in a positive light and I guess atom 2.0 / interchain security will change the tokenomics this year

Ill add this imo atom has been very solid throughout the bear market, and while its not ripping like sol or avax recently I think it'll rip when ICS goes live. I guess at that point atom stakers will recieve staking rewards from multiple chains including usdc, so once that revised gov proposal goes live i don't think we will see sub 15 atom unless the rest of the market tanks from another black swan

Thanks to PStake, ((which is Built on Persistence), (which is built on Cosmos)), BNB is able to be liquid staked at a rate of 5.2% APY.

There's actually a lot of good staking or LP options for bnb and matic on cosmos, like on osmosis or kujira, but they're wrapped versions so I don't tend to use them. I've been stacking atom and some of the other cosmos coins like stars, evmos, kujira, and osmo

I'm a die hard cosmos anin and idk wtf pstake is so I probably wouldn't touch it imo. If I wanted to leverage some bnb on IBC I'd either do the osmo/wbnb pool on osmosis, the wbnb/usk pool on kujira bow or bnb/rune on thorswap
