Decentralization is just a fetish. Nobody really uses it.

Decentralization has become a bit of a fetish in the cryptocurrency world, but evidence suggests that few people are actually using it for anything meaningful in their day-to-day lives. The concept behind decentralization is attractive and theoretically beneficial, as it limits the power of any individual or organization to control resources. This can be especially beneficial in terms of financial transactions or data storage and access.

However, most current applications of decentralized technology have yet to take off with mainstream users. All they have done so far is build hype without delivering true value or relevance. While there have been some success stories (Ethereum's DeFi projects have had great years), these instances are still relatively rare and inaccessible to most average people. Additionally, many of the technical barriers preventing widespread adoption remain unresolved—Bitcoin’s scaling problem still hasn't been solved after 10+ years, for example—making decentralization more of an ideal than a reality for most people in daily life.

Additionally, there’s not enough evidence to suggest that users would necessarily benefit from greater decentralization even if all of the above issues were resolved today. It’s easy to imagine some niche use cases such as censorship resistance (one where decentralized systems can undoubtedly shine), but for now it seems that the majority of users would still be better off sticking with centralized services like banks and payment apps rather than taking the risk and volatility inherent with decentralized platforms.(At least until they mature further.)

In summary, while decentralization might hold great potential down the road, it is important to remember that it is currently just a fetish—in other words, most people aren't really using it right now and won't be anytime soon despite its theoretical benefits and popularity among speculators.

Checked
>tfw no love for DNOs
>tfw ren devs had to fix Thor chain and still get no love
>tfw founders betrayed DNOs and community via private otc alameda acquihire and have fucked off never to be seen again
As a DNO from the start it’s been quite a journey. Shame I bought the staking meme and didn’t leave any ren loose to sell. Atleast the fuckers haven’t rugged me the way LPL did
