To all euro frens!
Beware of the gold 20$ coin. Back when it was still minted quite alot of people liked them here on the continent but you know america is far away so supply was not great.
Belgians came up with the idea of making their own 20$. Usually their gold content is alright but some of them are heavily underweight.
Americans minted their $ belgian fakes are casts. Learn the difference it could save you lots of money

It's hard to tell the difference just by looking. Cast coins have softer features than minted stuff. Edge is less defined.
Most reliable is to measure it's dimensions and weight.

Paid $25 for the note, I only paid that much because I've been searching well over a year for one and all the ones I see online are blatant counterfeits. Seems to be the going market rate for authentic notes.
I know the plastic protector and sticker don't ACTUALLY mean anything with its authenticity, it was just kind of something I had to snuff out in person. Seems real, paper is same material and consistency as authentic lower-value notes I have. The copper security strip that runs along the "N" and "S" also looks good.
100 trillion notes are a lot more expensive because collector value + even more counterfeiting.
I also felt more open to buying the note since the three halves I got were $12 a piece, and for a NICE Benjamin (at least AU55), A cool GW proof commem and a Barber $12 for each is really good, I'm a happy camper.

As a private buyer if I didn't already have a sigma I would have to take it out of the assay and do a scratch test before I would buy it from you. Since I have a sigma I would at best throw in 5/10 bucks if it was "new in box". Just my two cents on the subject.

Another badass gold piece. These were minted for collectors and sold at exhibitions back in the day. They made gold dollars to commemorate McKinley in 1903 I think and then again in 1916 and 17 if I'm not mistaken.
It was going to be a silver dollar but since he advocated for the gold standard, they minted it in gold.

They do look really cool so you could probably convince reddit to buy a couple each.

But why do they have so little silver in them? There are goldbacks that have 1/20th of an oz of gold so about 100 dollars of gold.

Why couldn't the regular silverback be something like 1/100 or 1/20? Being 1/1000 means that you're paying a massive premium for them. I understand that they want to keep them with how goldbacks are valued but this doesn't work with how little silver is valued at.

This is a little disingenuous is a coincidence that was noted after the fact. A troy ounce, is ***BY DEFINITION*** equal to 480 grains. Where a "grain" is the mean weight of a single grain in a sample of summer wheat grains. (Thus in lean years, a Troy ounce would have been smaller and in bumper years, a little larger.)

PS5 is indeed a shit investment, but stop pretending the PS4 can compete with it lol. PS5 loading times are literally inexistent, and the basic PS4 is laggy AS FUCK on most triple A games 2018 onward. If you get more than 20 FPS on open world stuff like Horizon, FF6, elden ring, etc.. it's a miracle (usually only occur when stuck in a tiny, dark room with no enemies around).

Anyway, consoles are for retards when you can wait for promos for gaming laptops on amazon. I've got myself a 1To SSD + i5 11400H + 16Go ram + RTX 3080 for 1.1K last year. Yes this was a sick deal, and this shit is running the last tomb raider with 100+ fps all graphisms maxed out. Too bad i'm not playing any game because i'm so lazy even playing is too exhausting for me, but if i wanted to, i'd never consider a console.

Depends on your stacking reasons and where you live. I'd check with your LCSs and the online bullion sites to see how much they'd pay for the old European gold coins. If the coins are liquid and for a fair sell price, then I'd just keep stacking them (assuming your premiums aren't too high). Saving $300 to $600 is good. Don't sell yourself short, anon.

If you're in America then the European coins aren't as popular but if you don't plan on selling for a while then it shouldn't be a problem right now.
I've only ever been to one real life coin store and they had some sovs and 20 francs for sell so there's gotta be SOME market for them. But I've heard it's harder to get coin shop boomers to buy your euro gold in bulk, but I've also heard that they'll buy any gold. It's all very contradictory.
I'm a poorfag like you and started out with the buying cheap euro gold but I eventually just decided to bite the bullet and buy a 1 oucner which I like more.

>> No.53198299

Opinions vary here.
Ducat restrikes have a low premium and will always have a low premium, so their value is married to the spot price.
Fractional gold caries a premium for reasons (extra handling, packaging, whatever else). This premium should be a normal bump in the price at any time. Half-ounces should have the lowest premium of the fractionals. So if you need to buy fractional, these are the best compromise.
Coins can carry an extra numismatic boost in value. Coins that are parts of a series of designs can appreciate more than runs of coins with the same pattern but different years.
>Tl;dr: Half-ounce coins from commemorative series have a very good chance of the greatest increase in value.
E.g., Queen's beasts, Tudor Beasts, Somali elephants, Kookaburras, ...
Next best: Standard coins: Britannias, Maples, Krugerrands, ...

It will earn you an esteemed reputation that others will want to legally emulate, thus bolstering the the status of your associated in-groups (gun owners and precious-metal stackers). People will think you're very cool and smart. This will shift the culture in California towards conservative values, which California will then export to the rest of America and the world.

you're conflating two entirely different things, probably in order to obscure my original point, which was this:

>>>53185132

>you stigmatize gun ownership when it becomes some forbidden topic. i've heard people pose the question of robbery, but doesn't this undermine the idea that guns are a deterrent? everyone knows police stations have lots of guns, but they're very rarely the target of robbery.

the other replies i got were textbook fud and divide-and-conquer rhetoric. you'll have to do better than that.

Now, here's a spot I'm wondering about.
As you can see, that "beach" is all fine sand, which is not a good sign. But it's the most exposed spot and at flood, it should get some eddies.
Plus, there's plenty of erosion (1) and potholes (2,3). (1) is very shallow and clean, but (2), (3) and (4) are filled, also with some visible pebbles, but mostly, its fine sands, even silt, as (5).
I guess I'll just have to clean out (2) or (3). Probably can discard the first few inches of sand (unless a test pan says otherwise) and then I just have to see how deep down it goes and what it brings.

Heh. Just figured it out (I think), while having a shower, incidentally.
Obviously and any other normal water level (currently level is really low), holes 2 and 3 are flooded and at normal flow speed, the outcrop is shielding the beach behind it, so only the finest stuff gets behind it and thus deposited. Heavy flood should see flow over it, which should change the deposition environment considerably, but then it all gets buried with fines on most days.

Got a 2011 silver proof set today, got every silver state and territory quarter now more than halfway through every silver ATB quarter. Just an okay year. Gettysburg and Vicksburg are honestly kindof bland sculpts. Especially vicksburg, it's so flat and lifeless. Glacier is a nice idea, but too hard to really make out the details on a standard sized quarter. I'm sure the 5ozt version looks incredible (I think I remember photo bro posting it one time). Chickasaw is also a nice one in theory, but the big problem is the shitty "frosting" technique the mint used during this era just loves to hide small details, and this coins is VERY reliant on small details such as bricks in the bridge or the trees. The fields are nice.
Clear winner this year is Olympic. The Elk looks great, the sculpt of the mountain and the trees are exquisite, and I always love the fields of coins being used as water. Legitimately a great quarter. There's nothing much to say about the other stuff included, the Sacagawea dollar this year commemorates the Wanpanoag treaty from 1621, meaning we're 402 years removed from when some Injuns thought selling land for beads was a smart decision. Neat I guess.

Using gold and silver to buy things isn't some long lost art buried buy the sands of time, I mean for Christ's sake the John wick series is centered around using gold coins for trade and its one of the most popular movie series in recent years.

do you need everything written out literally for you in plain english for you to derive meaning from it? What Im saying is that I think the average person, at least initially, will not understand any of this. So no matter what your gold is worth in a scenario like that, it will be difficult to find a person to trade with. And simultaneously to that, and after more people start catching on, the danger of people knowing you have it will be present and escalate. There are a lot of things in history books people are aware of you dumbass that doesnt mean that over night they are prepared to practice or replicate any of it.

here i will write it in a way you can understand. People understand gold has value. That doesnt mean they are able to agree on accurate transactions using it, and because of that even if you tried giving the person a good deal, the amount would look so minuscule to some people they would still think you ripped them off even if you overpayed. so yes bartering with the average american citizen would be a massive pain in the ass for a while

if your at the high water mark, search out the really compacted cracks and bore holes. As for the beach shot try a bit further up the bedrock, again looking for anything thats made its way down into deeper cracks. That particular area around the number 4 point might be good too but only deep down if there are boulders or large stones.

Obvious fudfag. In the early days of the American colonies and States, people routinely cut silver dollars into pieces and they circulated as such. That's where the phrase "pieces of eight" comes from - dollars were broken into four or eight pie-slices and circulated as change. That's why a quarter dollar, up until recently, was known as "two bits". Because two of the "bits" of a cut up dollar equaled a quarter dollar.

As for your second point, what WON'T robbers kill you for? And PMs are much easier to hide from robbers than most things you would use for barter.

Robbers are weird, one time we had a garage sale, some people wanted a little bench we had (the thing wasn't actually functional, it was a little tiny bench) my mom said "sorry, that's not for sale" and then the day after they drove over, stole it and drove off. Honestly I'm more paranoid about my rare Nintendo games getting stolen then I am my coins, joggers don't give a shit about silver/gold that isn't jewelry yet everybody knows old game cartridge = money. I got a complete in box copy of Mario 64 signed by Mario himself, you can't just eBay that shit. The best part of normalfags thinking gold/silver is some "boomer relic" is it leaves more for the smart ones.

youre retarded. what i said was already self evident and clear. you probably have autism if you think me dumbing something down for you even more is moving a goal post. thats just you being evasive not wanting to admit being a dumbass

there is never a black and white, all or nothing, 1 and 0, 100% outcome in life. That being said, for an argument of practicality, if almost no one is accustomed to trading through flecks of silver and gold, its going to be a shit show. 1 trade out of 50 or 100 will go smoothly. It will be unwieldy. how are you going to get a fucking haircut or some other mundane thing?

and simultaneously to it being inconvenient, from the very get go, some people will consider killing you for your gold and silver immediately if there was a complete failure of fiat. As more people start trading using gold and silver, that probability will only rise as the idea enters more peoples head that maybe fiat isnt coming back anytime soon. That isnt me moving the goal post its clarifying what should have already been fucking obvious.

i didnt ask these questions because i dont believe in the utility of having them but unless there arent practical answers to these questions its also a liability to rely on these things and invest heavily into them.

I think this speaks alot less on peoples knowledge on the worth of gold and silver and more on being cold approached by a stranger on the street. I would imagine for most people anytime they are approached by someone on the street its one of three people, a homeless person, a scammer, or a charity/fundraising. A charity won't be looking to trade for your watch, that leaves homeless or scammer, guy doesn't look homeless so I would imagine in most peoples minds this guy is some sort of scammer or is going to play some sort of trick on them for the camera neither no one wants to be scammed and no one wants to be made a fool on camera. So they are all very on guard and defensive not just in what they say but their body language as well. Most of them are turning away or covering their vital organs with their arms in defensive/fleeing postures.

Are you sure you aren't the autistic one? Your question was how could you possibly use gold for barter, you already answered your own question by saying the people who don't already know how will learn, and people will use small peices of gold or silver. As for people killing you buy a gun, people can kill you any day of the week for anything there doesn't need to be a financial collapse for that to happen. Do what you do now to avoid being murdered, just be more aware and active in it. You know travel in groups, don't go out after dark, keep a gun, don't walk around flaunting your wealth, etc.

Sadly when a deal too good to be true appears on ebay, and there isn't a swarm of other bidders showing up, then it's 99.9% fake.
I tempted my chance a bunch of times the past few months with so called cheap "sterling silver" items, because why not. Each time i had to send it back. At best it was electroplated, at worst it wasn't even metal lol.

After returning about 30 items, you simply stick to what's working (stuff normally priced and with clear pics). Even if it didn't cost you a penny bcuz ebay is favoring the buyers so heavily, at some point you are fed up wasting time at the post office returning packages, even if it's not on your dime (thus punishing the bad seller a bit).

And yes, you should return the fake coin and carve fake on it. Seller can't say shit anyway, his balls are controlled by ebay. Take the most expensive option for shipping too, since it's on the seller's dime. Make him learn your time isn't something he can freely waste with no consequences.
