To those who are easily demoralized, please look at the actual data. The median household makes $71k. The median family is able to support itself on $91k. Think of what the median family lives like, in some suburb near a major metro, two new cars, piles of plastic goygadgets purchased every christmas and birthday. >>53181639

that's a false comparison. median family incomes are $91k but this includes a large swathe of gen x and boomers who benefited from cheap college and cheap housing. a family income of $91k today is meaningless when you consider that $91k household income is 1) rare, as most newer generations aren't dating let alone getting married and 2) still comes nowhere near affording a "starter home" with a $2500/month mortgage + $500/month taxes + $500/month utilities, upkeep, and insurance, once you back out the costs of food/transportation/student loans/etc. for 2 people. and good luck if you want kids, even the shittiest and most niggerlicious of daycares these days are like $2k a month.

i say this as a single male who makes $95k a year in the suburbs of a large city. i can comfortably afford a $220-250k house a today's rates, which gets me a row home in niggerville or a dilapidated 1200 square foot plywood boomer box that needs $50k in renovations (if i do all the work myself.)

The $100k/yr dream was a product of 1980s America.

In 1980 $100k could buy you a 6000 sqft house and a high end sports car with money left over to build a nice nest egg.

$100k in 2023 can get you a modest house, modest car, and maybe allow you to max out your 401k and Roth if you scrimp, save, and live in the Midwest.

I'm not lying about shit.
You don't have a good concept of reality when it comes to the purchasing power of $100k in a coastal US city.
A hot stay at home wife is going to cost you at least $100k/yr just on maintenance.
Each kid is going to be like $50k/yr minimum (schools, sports, college fund, clothing and feeding)
Any additional family member you want to help is going to cost you $50k a year.
So for yourself that's $100k
Wife $100k
kids $150k ($50k x3)
mom $50k
That brings us to $400k/yr
That is what it will cost you to have a hot wife, own a home in a decent neighborhood away from niggers and heroin addicts, send your kids to private school and pay for their hockey equipment, and have your mom retire with dignity (assuming she was poor beforehand).
You could do it on half of that ($200k) if you want your kids in public school or a lower tier private school or home school and you want a mid tier wife that works as well.
But yeah man it turns out that shit costs money. I'm not thrilled about how expensive things are and how the middle class is basically non-existent at this point. I'm not trying to black pill you but that's just kind of how I see things and I laid it out how I got there.
Otherwise marry a girl with a rich dad or move to the Balkans.

>> No.53183654

>>53183612
You can afford that in a non-coastal city for $150-$200k. If your mom takes care of herself and your hot wife works part time, which many honestly want to, you can afford that life on $100k to $150k
The majority of the country doesn’t live in an expensive coastal city. Some do, but the majority

>> No.53185389

>>53183612

I'd say you are dead end, if you marry even a 6/10 you need to spend $100k per year on her or open the relationship and swing with a huge risk she divorce rapes you anyway.

The coastal cities WILL cost you more and they are highly desirable. Basically heaven on earth in terms of culture or climate.

I'm not sure why everyone automatically excludes the coasts from being a wealth goal. They should be THE goal.

And don't give me that crap about homeless or ultra lib politics either. Every rich dickhead chooses to live in California or Honolulu or Seattle if they can afford it. Even the rich conservative ones. You don't see Michael Savage relocating his crusty old Jewish ass and his $50 mill to Lee's Buttfuck, Missouri.

A six figure salary is about $10^1 per hour after taxes so it is pay on the same order of magnitude as the minimum wage. In salaries about $200k start getting to the next order of magnitude. I think $300k/year comes out real close to $100/hr after taxes if you're working 40 hour weeks.
