I read a post that said that the reason McCarthy struggled so hard to get elected to the speaker was because Gaetz and Boebart discovered that McCarthy has recently been buddying up with Gary Gensler and specifically have been drafting a way to fuck retail in the stock market: specifically gme holders.
Gaetz especially is super for a massive market reform and wants to stop all the corruption going on there. So the concession he was vying for that the media couldn't report was a promise that McCarthy would support bills to hold the sec accountable and not back any of the retarded shit that Gensler's handlers were going to push through.
I have no idea if this theory has literally any merit but it is interesting that the first time in over 100 years there's such a clusterfuck in electing a speaker happens to be when gme is aggressively being attacked. Thoughts?

Correct. Citadel just used this article as an excuse. Due to their computers with the highest speed of trading in the world (for which they paid a lot of money) they could instantly manipulate the price and start pumping once the article went live. Or maybe even just before, it's a big firm, they probably have some connections to WSJ staff.
