yeah, that's the point. for free, free of charge. it literally just takes one to deliver or just to get some hype in the market and you just got a huge payday. Also right now 25 million staked LINK is 5% of the circulating supply, 2.5% of the total supply. The projects distribute 3-5% of tokens to stakers and nodes, which means you're literally getting the relative size of your staked link in a completely new project. Thats not just some dust, it's almost 1-1 link to token conversion.

Im quite excited about these airdrops. But are any of these coins we're going to get ever going to be worth holding a few years or is everyone just going to sell them for more link/btc etc immediately? I never know what to do with airdrops I think they're worth selling most of the time.

Many might never leave their bottom but one could go 100x so maybe it's worth keeping a lotto ticket for each while you get a consistent added yield from selling half.
