So I'm 28 and been working in a dead end GIS position with a mechanical eng degree. it's not too bad I make about $70k and get to work from home.

Am I too old to move on or what? I really never was good at CAD anyways which is how I wound up in this position

How did you leverage the leetcode when applying for new jobs? Just demonstrating a portfolio of side projects you had done?

Yeah, I did MEng in ME with a thesis related to FEA and I participated in all the software eng clubs at uni.
First job was at a consultant where I did fluid sims and use ML tools to automate a lot of busywork.
Then I started 3D printing business and have almost fully automated the whole thing. Excluding talking to clients its maybe 4 hours of work per week.
Once that had some stability I started a quantitative trading business. Though I had been working on it since uni, I took it official.
Now I'm here.
