That was my whole first two years of inevsting was learning how dumb the markets and people really are. We will see our investment thesis play out. I just jumped in hard three years ago and didn't understand that I went right to the finish line and was waiting for the pack of retards to show up. Many frustrating lessons and painful experiences were had but that's what it takes to learn that yes the market is really that fucking dumb. All of these people you see on TV with professions in finance and making big ass money are really really fucking dumb. It's only a small percent that are actually productive or smart.

It really is, only couple more weeks until we get some news and this starts setting a price floor.
It's interesting how hard the selling has been at this $2 range.
Has to be some insider fuckery going on or massive algo activity, because you'd have to be mental to sell so hard before the upcoming results.
Won't stay down for long though and it's constantly creeping up.

One thing I've been wondering about are the Triple Point shares. Doesn't Atlas still hold like 27 million of them?
I don't personally expect to get much from mine since I got just few hundred, but the ones Atlas holds is a different thing entirely. If they go for let's say $3 a pop they're looking at nearly an extra 100 mil.
Considering how this hydrogen storage stuff in the salt domes might be pretty lucrative and could even be one of those government subsidized things, there's real potential there for a quick buck.

But what if Atlas gets sold before there's any kind of an offer for Triple Point? There's no price yet for the TPR shares as far as I'm aware.
I'd imagine that if there's realistic potential to add an extra 50-100+ mil with those shares, no good businessman would just let it go.
Might mean the sale could drag on a bit if they have to wait to get some kind of an offer for the TPR stuff before they sell.
No idea how a situation like this plays out.
Either way good times coming, I really hope this goes for +$10.

What attracts you to this stock? it's not even particularly cheap at €49M mkt cap. 18koz reserve is almost nothing. A rule of thumb for new mines has generally been 10 years production of 100koz/y, 1Moz reserve for a project to be worth it (unless it's particularly high grade or a good heap leach). These days medium and larger companies want more than that. I downloaded their key financial metrics which only shows from 2014-2018 or something like that and it shows huge losses every year. I only spent 2 minutes but didn't see anything attractive about the company.

>> No.53130163

Well it is local and there aren't that many mines here in Finland. That is why I was looking at it.
Yes the mkt cap seemed pretty high at first glance, atleast when comparing to american companies.

Why is it so high then? Like I said there are some local companies as big investors. Is this just a case of boomer hopium investing in to a good ol local project?

There is also another finnish mine https://www.silver.fi/en/ and it is on verge of bankcruptcy.

Yeah, for now, after expanding by a historically large amount, still a lot excess liquidity out there. The recession will come with a deflationary wave yes, then they will start easing again and inflation will go back up. But economy will probably still be poor as they won't be able to print like they did after 2020 without inflation getting out of control.

I don't know even about "poor", they will be damned if they do and damned if they don't. The economy is artificially large right now due to artificially easy monetary policy for 15 years. They will be forced to wean off over some time to not crash everything completely and we will have stagflation (great for gold). My bullishness is also based on increasing political instability and public unrest (due to mainly immigration of non-whites, a problem that is impossible to fix without something drastic happening). And other factors. Just now you can see the political instability as the house in the US is trying to elect a speaker, more principalled repubs have put their foot down and now refuse to support the deep state candidate. I've wondered if that is part of the reason why gold has rallied these last few days.

No I won't talk you out of it.
Personally I'm very skeptical of Uranium at this point.
It ran up when billionaires got into it, then it was pushed on retail mania goaded on by salesmen like Rick Rule and now it needs to find it's real price. Whatever that is who knows.
It has such a huge potential of falling like a rock from here that I don't want to touch it for now. Sold out of it 6 months ago at a slight loss.
I agree with the other anon of the powers that be not accepting it for the moment. They're more willing to use coal and windmills than nuclear and that tells a lot about the hurdle it needs to overcome.
Hell it might not be until we have SMR tech until nuclear actually takes off in the West.

Yes some might call this a big sentiment indicator and how it's only going to go up from here, but I'd start calling for a sentiment indicator being a negative only when cheerleaders like Andy and other youtubers start talking about how the bullrun may be delayed for some years.
Until then I say the sector is running on copium about the thesis and could take a huge shit at any moment or at best going sideways.
I wouldn't bat an eye if Rick's billionaire friends decided to hammer the price through the big support region to new lows so they can accumulate for a lot cheaper for the real run in few years.

I think this years clear winners are going to be PMs. Wouldn't be surprised if they did a retest to their supports though.

And Tesla was just fined couple of million in Korea for overstating the range about 50% in cold. If they want EVs to become a thing they have to get that new battery tech going right away.
Lithium batteries are absolute garbage in cold and as EVs get more common more people are going to realize this.

A negative profit margin of 30% is almost breaking even?
Silver has averaged low $20s for the past two years and they have significant losses over that period. With inflation they probably need higher than $25 just to break even today, maybe even much higher going forward as they seem to have declining ore grades. The cash is nice and the reason their stock hasn't been crushed completely, but if they have to shut down operations, they will have to spend millions on remediation and the assets may not be worth much if there is no economic ore in the area.

Maybe Benchmark metals as they have significant silver credit on their resource. Kinross has significant silver production currently from their Chilean mine. Otherwise the best imo is just buying the metal or a physical etf. Took a look at them, they are the ones who bought Great Panthers Mexico mining complex. I don't think they managed to make money with it, but perhaps G silver can. They are bleeding like crazy right now and they only had $6M in cash at the end of Q3 + some debt, in Q4 they took on $5M more debt and around $5M in an equity raise. They want to ramp up to 5Moz Ag produced this year. Very aggressive strategy. I'm not sure why their revenue is only $8.9M when they produced 700koz Ageq in that quarter. May be because they are shipping out concentrate that some payments are delayed, the metal may also not be 100% payable.
I would rather invest in this than Impact Silver, seems like there's a higher chance of winning here if everything goes to plan and silver rallies and the potential is much bigger as you get much higher production per $ invested.
But I have no idea what they production cost is going to be a few quarters from now when they should be producing at a much higher rate. They will probably need like $25 silver to break even, there is a reason why they got their hands on these past producers at a relatively low price.
I don't think we're going to see $50 silver any time soon, but if we do at least you will get good leverage with this one.

They had the idea to use an ore sorting setup, and aerial cable tram line like miners in the 19th century did to ship ore down the steep slopes to a road terminal. I LOVE companies that think outside the box on projects, but I havent heard anything from them in ages. I know a bit about their Silver Cup Ridge target, its a well documented high value location from the 1890s that was worked by hand in the summer, than ore raw hide packed to a trail in winter. Impact burned through $1.8M on $3.8M in revenue last quarter. Cash is down $4.6M first 3 quarters of 2022. Operations are as shitty as great panther, it's just such a small mine and they have such a relatively large treasury that they are getting away with it, for now.

https://wisconsinexaminer.com/brief/frac-mining-back-on-the-rise-in-wisconsin/
From the article

Prior to 2020, frac sand mining had been a declining industry in the Badger State. Wisconsin’s coveted northern white sand was proving too expensive to transport to sites across the country. Many companies migrated to Texas, closer to fracking operations that extract oil and gas. But one Texas-based company, Smart Sand Inc., is making a comeback in Wisconsin.

According to Wisconsin Public Radio, the company reported a 41% increase in sales of northern white sand during the third quarter of 2022. Recently, he company’s sales double year after year. A filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission offered a clarifying view into why frac sand mining in Wisconsin is on a momentary rebound.

Demand for oil and gas dipped during 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequent years have seen a rebound in that demand, and then the invasion of Ukraine occurred. “The ongoing conflict in the Ukraine has contributed to dramatic swings in oil and natural gas prices and significant volatility in the oilfield service sector,” the filing states. “Additionally, current high inflation and other economic factors could lead to a global economic recession that could have a negative impact on global oil and natural gas demand, which may lead to continued volatility in the oil field service sector. We cannot predict if positive pricing trends will continue or if sand prices will increase, decrease, or stabilize.”

For now, northern white sand has become more valuable. The Smart Sand Inc. filing states that the sand, which is primarily found in Wisconsin, has logistical advantages in regions from the Appalachian basin to Colorado to Wyoming and Canada. “We expect demand for our frac sand to continue to be supported by customers who are focused on long-term well performance

I am pretty confident in the ground and the team working on the ground at Dome Mountain. Its not difficult terrain to work on, bedrock is within feet of surface, and workings from the last century arent difficult to spot. I want to see what these deeper intercepts bring up in assay, deeper potential would be better for Dome. There is still a lot of ground to work on over to the west and north at Dome Mountain too, dozens of old targets we have yet to hear anything from.

One area that could be extremely interesting is to the north of the Dome Mountain Mine, on Doray Creek. There were 1920s era placer mining workings in places on this creek, as well as course gold flake and small nuggets. That gold was fairly rough and hadnt traveled more than a few KM from the source, so a vein must be within the headwaters of Doray yet to be discovered.

From the article
Under the proposed law, gold and silver would be accepted as legal tender and would be receivable in payment of all public and private debts contracted for in the state of Missouri. Practically speaking, this would allow Missourians to use gold or silver coins as money rather than just as mere investment vehicles. In effect, it would put gold and silver on the same footing as Federal Reserve notes.

Missouri could become the fourth state to recognize gold and silver as legal tender. Utah led the way, reestablishing constitutional money in 2011. Wyoming and Oklahoma have since joined.

The effect has been most dramatic in Utah where United Precious Metals Association (UMPA) was established after the passage of the Utah Specie Legal Tender Act and the elimination of all taxes on gold and silver. UPMA offers accounts denominated in US-minted gold and silver dollars. The company was also instrumental in the development of the “Utah Goldback,” described as “the first local, voluntary currency to be made of a spendable, beautiful, physical gold.”

You can't blindly hold these small time companies for arbitrary amounts of time. You need to keep up with them and be prepared to dump and reposition if necessary. Maybe if you were talking about majors then you could rest easy.

Anyway the only companies you posted that I'm familiar with are fission 3.0 and nine mile and neither of them is a sure thing for a long term hold, but they look pretty nice short term at least. Was hoping that nine mile would have given an update on hitting one of their NMB target zones but it's been quiet. With that said the drilling itself was delayed until the start of December and there was a lengthy holiday break so I'm not sure how far in they are.

ESG has already happened because it's what the largely female, often queer, very diverse urban workforce wants.

It has had very little success in industry because that's one realm where your work needs to function no matter what color your skin is, who you fuck at night, or how many testicles you currently own.
Mining, like most heavy industry, is full of very old white dudes that are fast approaching retirement age and then being begged to stay on long after retiring because the progressives are great at playing nice but not so good at getting shit done.

it's a problem. It will be solved by robots. It's already being solved by robots.

in the 70's everyone was scared of hidden microphones and cameras and wiretaps on our phones. Later we paid big money to buy the cameras and microphones and wiretaps.

in the 80's and 90's we were scared shitless of AI. Now the first AI's are hiding among us and we don't bat an eye.

the 80's and 90's brought fear of VR and how it could be abused. Now we pay $50 a pop to abuse the newest and best VR

we were scared shitless of cyborgs and augmentation. Now the self-proclaimed saviors of humanity are working as hard as they can to build them.

humanity is almost done. Not because we're evil or stupid but because the path ahead is obvious and we're doing everything we can to get there.
