How could you possibly think that? Real interest rates are still DEEPLY negative. Money is sloshing all over the system. Look at the market. It should be dramatically lower all things considered but every down tick is met with loads of buying.

Interest rates need be more than double what they are right now to actually be positive vs inflation.

I think overall employment is naturally going to fall the more we see menial jobs getting replaced by automation of some sort. The Fed and anyone with half a brain knows this is inevitable and it's reflected in their policy by their apparent lack of concern for people continuing to drop out of the workforce. I don't know what the solution will be but normie sentiment is wayyy behind on this one, as evidenced by the reactions to the recent robo-McDonald's.

2 of them were convicted of really petty shit. Like possession. The newest guy who has court tomorrow is an unfortunate kid. Dad wasn't in the picture, mom was a junkie. All three of my new hires were foster kids. The newest and oldest (22) recently took police on a high speed chase and was hopped up on Xanax. Ended up running his car through a police blockade and broke a cops arm in the process. He's being charged with attempted manslaughter among other things. His court appearance for tomorrow is only covering one of the charges and they want to lock him up for 90 days and 1.5 years of probation. He's facing up to 4 years. I hope the judge is lenient because hes a militant employee.

It will be a walking simulator where you move through office buildings emptying trash can, sweeping up dirt, mopping floors, etc... That will be the whole game. Maybe there will be a boss fight where you walk in on some guy banging an intern or something, and he tries to fight you. If you fight back, you get arrested for assault and battery (and he gets nothing)... but if you don't fight back, he beats you up and you go on disability for the rest of your life.

Anons, I just got back from my wagie shift at Kohls and man, so far this week its been SLOW as fuck. Sure after Christmas day we got traffic that week, but now? Almost dead silent. I know January is typically quiet compared to Christmas holidays, but even the beginning of this year feels tiny when you look back to 2020/2021 as normies got their stimulus shit. Only thing that's got lines somewhat consistently is Amazon checkout registers, but there still weren't as many bodies in store as last year.

Will this shit be a bad omen for retail stocks in general? I feel like Kohl's is the canary in the coal mine, especially for AMZN share price in the near future.

Now that gives me an interesting idea.

Suppose everyone eats shit with inflation: poorfags give up on Kohl's (or shop less or start stealing), the Nordstrom/Williams Sonoma crowd downgrades to Kohl's, and...I guess the LVMUY ultra-rich crowd continue to not give a fuck (or the ones that do get knocked down a peg are so few in number they don't make up for the people switching to Kohl's).

So the play isn't shorting KSS, it's shorting JWN and WSM and other SkyMall-tier retailers.

Got into investing the past year at the absolute peak. Have individual stocks in my Roth IRA, sold off my DVN before the big drop the past two days. Mainly just googl and Amzn rn, been DCA into amzn to lower my average cost. Didn’t sell once I was down post split 8% (another fuck up). Idk whether to just cut my losses at this point or continue to accumulate and just tighten my sphincter for the next year or so. I just think long term I’d be better off keeping it here instead of reallocating into an etf. I’m not looking to actively trade with this obviously and want to just set it and forget it. Anyone else Long on amzn and googl?

Well I have my 401ks but opened a Roth and maxed that the past two years and was doing individual stocks in there. Mainly just aapl Amzn googl so I’ve gotten my asshole ripped open and I’m aware in retrospect it was a stupid move. I’ve been continuing to DCA into Amzn thinking ill be fine years down the road but honestly seeing how much their employees hate working for the company has me second guessing myself and considering eating my 30+% losses, selling all my individuals and just throwing it all into an etf but the other side of me wants to try and make back my losses quicker. Income is stable rn taking home 3k a week as a travel rn but also paying off my student loans dumping 1k into those a week. Also been wanting to grab some msft and with the drop yesterday I’m more tempted to sell off some amzn at the huge loss and buy and hold msft long run. Also like what they’re doing with bing and their investment in chatgpt as an aside. I’m not asking someone to tell me what to do with my money, Just talking to myself at this point and hoping someone can gently hold my hand and tell me it’s gonna be alright in the long run

I really don't care at this point in all honesty. It's in God's hands. Does he want me to be poor? Or rich? It just sucks that you all have to be along for the ride. The entire movement of the market is because of me and my holdings, and whether God wants me to be poor or rich, and everyone in the world has to deal with my shit because if he wants me to be poor, you're all going to be poor too. All the people with retirement accounts, I mean. It's literally all about me. Stocks have been going down since I bought and I'm never selling so, I mean, keep bringing them down God. Bring 'em down to zero. If you hate me that much then oh well at least I'm taking this shitty society with me.
