happy new years and merry christmas /pmg/ chads.

did you get your stack to where you want it?
did you find that coin for that empty slot in your book?
how much did you advance your preps for the future?

i'm a couple ounces of gold shy of where i want.
to be but tomorrow i'm buying a P08 Luger for about an ounce of gold which is a deal but right now they can go for an ounce and a half easily.
i have as much as i can for where i live to survive a good bit but hopefully i'll never have to see.

OK frens i need your big IQs.
So i finally managed to scrap up a lil' bit over 5kg of silber via ebay. First step : accomplished! Problem : in my shithole, impossible to find a single mint/melter who accept to work with retailers. We aren't good enough for them apparently (even though they are begging for customers on their websites, but spit at your face when you call them..).

So i need a plan B to transform my stoopid crap into a bioutifoul, shiny bar.
It's out of question to do it myself. The material is way too expensive, hard to get by, and i wont buy for 3K worth of tools to do it only once. Also i've two left hands so it's guaranteed to fail if i try it anyway.

What are my best options? I live in Frogistan as most of you know. PLS HALP FRENS

Wish I had traded more paper for lead than I did, but I'm not in bad shape. Somehow I qualify for government food gibs, that I promptly trade for long term food storage. Keeping my body prepped at the gym during winter layoff. Cultivating mass.

Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement
https://myanimelist.net/anime/52461/Rougo_ni_Sonaete_Isekai_de_8-manmai_no_Kinka_wo_Tamemasu

>One day, Mitsuha falls off a cliff and is transported to a medieval Europe–type world! After a near-death encounter with a pack of wolves, she then realizes that she's able to transport between two worlds—this one and her own. Taking advantage of this ability, Mitsuha decides to live in both worlds and calculates that she'll need 80,000 gold coins to be able to retire! Mitsuha now has to come up with different ways to collect her gold coins!

lmao @ what Japan thinks the value of gold is. No wonder their banks are collapsing first.

My friend that's into conspiracy theories said that that there was this old bill voted through Congress that was gonna move the US back to the gold standard and nullify all debt that was in fiat dollars. He said that the bill had a time clause so that it would automatically become law after a couple of decades and that it's about to happen now.

Noice. I cropped the image for you.

Even though it's not groundbreaking what is important is that you've got wealth outside the system. This age of cheapies isn't going to last much longer with many of us saying this year is going to be the year the western fiat systems are going to plunge or even collapse into hyperinflation. I will be truly amazed if the west can keep it going longer than this year without the revaluation of gold or even the introduction of CBDC's across the west.

I always liked the concept of stacking from Shows like storage wars. But didn’t realise silver was as cheap as it was. Started stacking very late in the grand scheme of things. Got my first merc dime in change in 2005. Then did nothing until last April when the Ukraine stuff spooked me.

Welcome Anon. Don’t listen to all of these Jewish shills trying to demoralize and scare you away. Check out pic related

Ultimately you want to acquire as much metal as possible, as close to SPOT price as possible. Below is even better but rare. Any difference in price above spot is called a Premium and you want to keep that to a minimum.

Premium will vary depending on the origin, format and quality of the piece(s) you buy. Sometimes it’s worth it (ie. for a higher quality piece from a sovereign country’s mint - giving it authenticity and a trusted format) and sometimes it’s not (ie. for an antique or relic coin whose premium is entirely subjective value).

Hope this helps. Welcome to a Free World where you control the money you earn - not some Kike banker trying to fuck you over.

And most importantly:

>there are no stupid questions - only stupid answers.

I want to get into a coin series and complete a full set in either ¼ oz gold or 1 oz platinum. I'm considering the Tudor Beasts from the Royal Mint. It looks like the first coin from this series was the Seymour Panther. However, it appears that the panther was only released as a proof, which I have no interest in collecting. Does anyone know if the Seymour Panther will eventually come out in a BU version? If I can't get this coin in BU, then I have no interest in collecting this series. Also, any idea how many new beasts they plan to release each year?

I believe that if the GSR breaks it will be in favor of silver as it transitions solidly into industrial metal status. If that does not happen then silver is cheaper and I can acquire gold by swapping them out at a better ratio later. Also, I am not so certain that gold can run away from silver due to basic arbitrage opportunities. The supply of silver simply does not exist and people swapping gold for silver will break the real world scarcity that actually exists. So it couldn't happen for long. Also, I think a scarcity premium will be added to every single UNIT that you have. I think having 32 1 gram gold bars will be far superior than having a 1oz bar as every transaction you make will allow you to command far more purchasing power than the seller of whatever item is being sold. And that purchasing power will exist on a per transaction basis.
Just some thoughts.

I don't know all of the details, but there is a supply crunch due to natural scarcity, paired with Russia being the #2 producer only making $22,000 kilos. (South Africa produces 130,000 kilos at #1) Which may not be making their way over to the West anymore.
Russia is trying to set up sale of its energy for gold as the world moves away from the dollar, some interesting questions are now posed! Given natural scarcity and considering the limited industrial applications, what is the REAL price of platinum relative to gold? If industry requires this material and the second largest source no longer needs dollars, there could be a pretty simple increase in price as supply is constrained.
While typing this I literally just FOMO'd a 1oz platinum purchase.

an electrochemical method might be possible and affordable. not sure which one to use though as it depends on exactly what kind of silver you have. but a winnowing process should be possible. if you're willing to wait a while you can use a voltage that ensures only copper will be carried over to your cathode, but the amount of play is less than half a volt. refining anon >>53108307 can probably back me up on this. another method might be sulfuric acid or a combination of it and electrowinning. basically a dilute H2SO4 bath will dissolve copper which will then plate onto your cathode whereas the silver will not, at least not at moderate voltage levels. but if no mint will accept silver from retailers then you're kind of limited to ebay and the like. also

My first pic was a kook in a box. The jadwigas, shrek, angels and goldbacks give me away I think. Or are the more obvious “oh it’s that guy” since the jadwiga in the white card and 3 graces stand out.

How do you guys muster up the courage to buy more silver if you know that it's a good price but aren't willing do it out of fear that spot price is probably going to take a nosedive the next day and you could've gotten the exact same thing that you just bought but for like $10 cheaper.
It makes me internally screech on the inside so bad holy shit.

PMs have been a horrible hedge against both inflation and stock market swings. Over the last 40 years, gold spot price has increased from about $500/oz to $1850/oz - the S&P500 during the same time has increased by a multiple of 15. There's a reason that there are infomercials telling you how to buy gold (that they just happen to own and broker) - if it was a great value with tons of upside, why would they sell it?

An event that would destroy fiat currency across the world all at once would more than likely also render most of the use cases for PMs obsolete. Unless you're storing copper for ammo.

It's possible, but sulfuric will also dissolve silver. The Ag will combine with the free sulfur to create Silver Sulfide (Ag2S). Converting Ag2S back to silver metal requites nitrate salts which to my best understanding are controlled items in most of the EU. Plus he'd need a way to heat the reaction to at least 500°C to initiate the reaction for silver sulfide to convert to silver chloride which can then be redoxed to elemental silver with lye and a sugar.

there is no free sulfur, only sulfate (SO4^2-) ions. the internets seem to agree with me on this. perhaps silver sulfate can formed but it seems one needs to go via silver nitrate for that to happen. either way the acid should attack any base metals before the silver, so you can still use it for winnowing
>nitrate salts
you can get NaNO3 in most grocery stores, at least here in Sweden. KNO3 can be had from places like pyrogarage, or you can produce it via metathesis with KCl which can also be had easily

Thats not true. You dont compare PMs to the stock market (which is completely over leveraged anyways but that is a seperate discussion) you compare PMs to bonds and savings accounts.

Savings accounts and CDs have not kept up. The average return of gold from 1972 to now is 7.2%. There is no easy way to compare this to CDs but if you look at rates you see that the average in the 80s was 8% but everything post 1990 is sub 3.5%.

Pic related, ever since the suspension of bretton woods the 10 yr treasury bond has underperformed gold. Its even worse for savings accounts.
