Ok I'll give this thread another try, despite the amount of niggers on this board.
Let's discuss good indis and strategies.

Lol what exactly do you want in this thread little guy? These are indicators that 90% of bots and retail traders look at. They are market movers in themselves.

This one has historically been a good indicator. However, I don't have access to the most recent data so I can't see if a switch has occurred.

Just look at M2 money supply.

Every time it contracts all markets go down. Every time it expands all markets go up.

My indicator is my bank balance, if it gets over €2.5k or so I buy more crypto.

Lets talk about the data that these indicators are being calculated on.

There is the "past" data as in the last price transacted at and the volume. With this volume data comes with wether the transaction happened at the lowest ask or the highest bid. If it happened at the lowest ask than the trade was instigated by a market order buy filling a limit order sell. One could theoretically consider this trade bullish though it could be a short exiting their position with a market order buy. Which should be bullish because for some reason a short is exiting so they assume this is the best price they will get but really you can't put a label on bullish or bearish from wether it was a market order buy or sell.

The only other data is the level 2 limit order book. Which we can consider to be both past and present data. We can look at the shape of the limit order book at the time of previous transactions as data if we want to.

So now lets think about "indicators" majority of indicators take the massive amount of individual trades data simplify the data into some sort of "closing" price. So just taking an arbitrary last trade as the data for the calculation. Lets say 1 minute candles. Literally just taking the last trade that happened at 59.9999 seconds and ignoring the rest of the "data" so now the only data we have is really just 1 trade and it isn't actually that 1 trade. It is just the price that that 1 trade transacted at.

And then for things like RSI some random period is decided upon to do the calculation on. How anyone can think there is any value in an indicator calculated purely off arbitrary closing of price candles is beyond me.

This if you calculate just the close, but you can calculate other things like the in-candle movements.

Sure can you give an example of an indicator that does this? Also can you better explain what you mean by in-candle movements? Do you mean like a point of control within the candle? But that is still within the candle which has arbitrary beginning and end points based on a time or volume etc. So the data from that intra candle would be completely different if the start of candle was lets say shifted over 20 seconds for 1 minute candles. Or started after lets say 400 volume for 1200 volume candles. Every candle will give completely different signals and readings and things like "dojis" etc.
