Expect to be busy in the morning, slicing up meat. Then just kinda serve people as they come by. It's a pretty easy job.

Do you ever get flirted with there by girls?

lol no. You'll get a lot of stupid questions from old people. That's about it.

You have to be noticably cute and young, if you are a day over 25 then you are seen as a loser.
I met a few girls at my time working in my local grocery store, but I was also 19.

If you have to find women or men at your school or job then you're a loser. Tell your parents they're fucking idiots. There are people getting paid to find people for you. Pay them.

Selling clothes is also much easier than working at a food-related store.

Whole idea is to be paid to do nothing. Nowadays, especially after Corona, you're suppose to be paid doing nothing from home.

I've only been able to survive retail this year by having a plan to get out.
by that I don't mean an ambition, I mean a real plan where day to day you know exactly where the money youre earning is going to go.

You'll get flirted with by women at any job you work. I've never worked at a grocery store, but even in my factory, women hit on me.

Especially at a grocery store, you'll definitely be flirted with eventually. You'll be seeing new people almost every day.

When I was a cashier while in high school and college I think women flirted with me but I was too socially inept to pick up on it.

I worked at Publix while in high school. Started off a bag bitch, told them it was lame and I wanted to stock. Eventually was a p/t stock clerk. It was a wonderful job. I remember smoking cigs/weed in the back stock area at night, making out with some big booty Puerto Rican in a freezer, and developing connections in every field from regular costumers who I got to know over time. I was there for 2 years before moving on. My store was In a predominantly white area that is voted in the top 20 “best towns in the USA” or whatever gsy shit is on the sign

I was considering getting transferred to the publix distribution center. Starting pay was somewhere around 17-20hr if I remember correctly in 2002. Tons of benefits/perks, and raised

If you’re a grown up and in the USA…… and not working for publix or the few teamster unionized companies, you should kys now and save the time.

It sucks, just expect it to suck.
I would show up and sit in the parking lot and think about suicide before my shifts most days.
You’re main job is cleaning up sticky ham juice and toast beef blood off of everything, and that fucking cheese dust that winds up in your hair and in your clothes.
The actual job of helping people pick out and slice meats and cheeses is fun, most people are chill and turn into little kids when you give them a sample of something.
Cleaning everything at the end of the night was a chore, and you just hoped you got to the mop before the butcher guys did.
Pros, you get discounts on food,
And my personal advice is to cut a lb of 10 year Wisconsin cheddar and label it as a $6.99 california white cheddar.

Produce people are the coolest.
Bakery women are horny.
