Shampoo:
- 99% water, sells for $2.99
- Takes 2 months to get used up

Sports Drink:
- 99% water, sells for $2.99
- Takes 0-15 minutes to get used up

How do companies profit from things like shampoo when there's far more profitable things to sell?

the shampoos i typically see in large stores are $5-10
but the point is valid
the answer is that these are all made by conglomerates (unilever, etc.) it doesn't matter that there are more profitable things to sell, because they make those things as well

>>53085990
how much do you think shampoo costs to make? I would be surprised if the bottle costs more than $0.15. The shampoo inside is about $.03 or so. Soap in general is one of the cheapest things to make, you just have to make it right, which is as simple as following directions and being able to pour something without it splashing. Also, word to the wise, I used to have really good hair and ended up growing it out. Grew down to my ass over a decade or so(cut it to shoulder length several months ago), however my hair seemed to get shittier and shittier. It was falling out a ton, seemed to be thinning. Then I ran out of shampoo and didnt want to buy a bottle online instead of paying half the price in store...but I didnt want to go to the store. Instead I found a bar of pure castile soap (pure olive oil, anything pure animal fat works too). I used that on my hair, within a week or so, my hair has gotten a ridiculous amount thicker, there is also no more hair falling out. My head in general is healthier. I can feel the natural oils in my hair when its wet now (when dry it feels normal). Invest in some good quality PURE soap, get a bar and either use it like that or mix it with water and essential oils to make a shampoo on your own since it wont have any detergents in it. Yes this is financial advice.

All vinegar comes from bacteria that transforms alcohol into vinegar, typically this can be accomplished by just placing a bottle of lower alcohol content outside and eventually it will convert into vinegar - similarly to How yeast is everywhere so is the bacteria needed to get vinegar.
Of course we live in the modern era and we arent cave men, you just need to get a bottle of apple cider vinegar and add a small part of that into your own apple cider and that will speed that process up infinitely

>you just need to get a bottle of apple cider vinegar and add a small part of that into your own apple cider
Make sure to get the one that says with "the mother". The mother is the main batch that is used to seed other batches of vinegar. The correct bottles will have cloudy bits of stuff in the bottom of the bottle that when shaken gives the vinegar an opaque look.

You are confusing sales volume with profit. There aren't really that many ice rinks and they hardly ever need new Zambonis, but it's still a profitable business because there is literally only one factory that makes them.

Shampoo and soda are both profitable, they would just have more bottling facilities for soda since more of it gets consumed. The existence of larger industries doesn't prevent smaller ones.

I work in the industry and it's widely known that the plastic bottle CAP or PUMP (not including the bottle itself) cost more than the shampoo.

Every bottle represents a huge margin.

The margins only grow with the more expensive brands.

for every need there is a market to satisfy that need, size of the market != profitability, if you do the math, consider 5 billion people ( no niggers ) take 2 showers a week, that's like 520 billion showers a year... let's say each shower is like 10ml of shampoo, that's 5.2 billion liters of shampoo a year.. let's say a liter costs 3$, that's 15 billion $ market, are you saying me companies can't make money on such a large market? and this is dumb math, bitches spend way more than that on shampoo, i don't even use shampoo...

The answer as always is roasties being the only real driver of consumerism.
Women go through a bottle of conditioner every week and a bottle of shampoo every two.
The shampoo damages their hair, scalp and face and hormones so they need to buy more cosmetics to repair/cover up the damage they've inflicted on themselves.
Many of those products do the same thing (i.e. damage their skin) and the cycle continues.
