Problem with these analytical approach is always the same, none of these companies EVER disband and give their cash value to the shareholder. It's always the same those at the top of these kinds of companies want power. Even they owned a ton of shares they don't care, they want power and self perceived prestige over others. Seriously give any anon in this general a position as CEO for 10 years. How many wouldn't retire after all that cash? This isn't about money to those people. I have no interest in their self perceived power and prestige when anyone off the street can do it. I want freedom from the wage cage and to never have to go back to it.

Which is better:
3 month or 6 month T-Bills @ 4.4-4.65 interest rate
Money market @ 3.5 interest rate

If I keep money in MM, I have a better opportunity to jump on something that may come up in 3-6 months.

Zero chance of meaningfully higher in the next six to ten months.

If SPY finishes 2023 even close to 380 it would be a miracle. We are going, dramatically, shockingly lower. VIX is still under 30. PEs are still high. Layoffs haven’t even really kicked off. Inflation is still 3x+ the FEDs target. The risk is to the downside; obviously.

If we bounce off 350 in any meaningful way consider it a massive selling opportunity. Every rally remains a sale for the foreseeable future.

The first half is gonna be everything burning down because of the lagged effect of over tightening/rape hikes.

Another year and still not rich. Maybe I should give up on stocks. I've been semi obsessed with them for over 2.5 years now. The longer I go like this, the more it looks like I've wasted my time on stocks whether it was worrying about my positions or spending hours researching stocks or doing other stock stuff. Crypto seems very high risk so unlikely I'll even touch it. That only leaves me with one other potential avenue of getting rich and it's a gamble of whether I succeed or fail. I purposefully bought and held some stocks to teach myself a lesson on that meme. So far it has proven I am better off playing the market like I did before, buy a ton of shares/options cause I'm super sure a stock will pump or dump and second panic selling. At least then it resulted in me being profitable. None of those were holds for longer than a year so it doesn't count as the buy and hold stock meme. What better way to test this meme by doing it on a stock that either gains a ton or loses a ton, SOXL. The good part is I only bought 100 shares rather than go all in, I'd be devastated if I went all in.

Wall Street is pricing in 7% earnings growth for next year.

If you get an actual recession and negative earning growth the S&P will go to 2000 min and that is not a joke. In a recession market valuations are like 10 p/e near lows and that's assuming a "normal" recession. If stocks, I wouldn't worry so much about exchange rate. Any DXY pump is typically matched by a simultaneous market crash. They tend to neutralize because a lot of the meta caps are essentially global businesses.
If you just wanna be lazy and sit in dollars, I think 1.10 is the level to watch. At least camp in something with yield though. This is the first time in a decade you can get paid to wait - although arguably its really just an inflationary penalty if you don't take that small payout. There is no true yield.

I mean shits looking very very bad for the lower middle class as it is right now, energy costs aren't going to improve the more the Fed prints, it's a real catch 22, so yes I think we're heading into some unpredictable times and hopefully the end of the 110 year long central banking experiment.

What's weird about Robinhood is they have a great UI, good mobile app, very competitive cash sweep rate, basically did all the small things right.

Then on the other hand they're very limited on equity options, will auto sell options contracts on your behalf (lol), can't short or sell naked, etc. Unironically if they get bought out and have the latter things added they could be the best broker on the market.

Phones are a necessity, but there are many cheaper options that offer equivalent performance besides Apple. The mid priced Samsung phones are cheaper than the cheapest iphone and offer similar performance. Apple also made many downright stupid design choices lately. I owned an iphone 5s in the past and loved it, then I went through a period of android phones until I got an iphone 11. It’s complete shit. I hate how the changed the UI and removed the aux jack. Apple is also not only a phone company, they make laptops. These laptops are also extremely overpriced and are shit value because their specs are weak compared to competitors and they’re harder to repair by design. If we are entering a recession (or in one already and going deeper) then most consumers will avoid apple products unless apple overhauls their product line to be more affordable and offer something other electronic manufacturers do not.
