Is there a reason to buy gold? I feel way richer having a pile of silver than a few gold coins.

Got this for Christmas it’s a Liberian 9/11 Memorial $20 coin and it came with a certificate from the mint saying it is .999 silver however I can’t find an ASW on the internet for it. I don’t have a scale and it actually seems to not be fully silver all the way through because of the weight and the side is not silver
