Don't live in a neighborhood you have to worry about getting robbed or hide it better. You wouldn't keep a generator in a safety deposit box, or emergency rations, or your ammo, so why would you keep your gold, silver, and cash. Its doesn't make any sense, if you can't reach out and touch it when you need it then it may as well not exist. Your stack, your cash though so you do you.

Way more dodgy shit goes on with silver. Do dodgy things go on with gold? Sure. However, silver is manipulated so much. It would take an astronomical amount of people buying physical silver for their to be change. Considering we had two years of record demand for it and nothing changed, it is extremely unlikely that the future will be different for silver.

Anybody else concerned about the future of gold? Ever since Trump introduced the Digital Trump Card Game I've seen boomers entering my local coin shop daily and selling of their gold and silver collections. They all say the same thing; Imma buy those groovy new Trump cards! Imma buy some bitcoin too! Trump didn't want gold for his cards so why should I stack?"

Trump wanted cash and bitcoin for his cards so all Trump fans have lost faith in gold and they're all selling their gold now.

I'm seeing that it's accelerating and soon gold will go down to 800 dollars an oz and stay there while Digital Trump Cards will become the new gold.

>> No.53025940

The price of gold is dictated more by institutional investors, not people like you or I. It would be very difficult to get gold down to $800 an ounce. The Trump digital cards are a fad so I wouldn't be concerned about them. With that being said, I have heard bullion dealers are seeing boomers selling their collections to buy cryptocurrency. Unfortunately for them, most will lose a lot of money.

If someone can break in and spend days in your house with no one noticing or caring you live in crackhead central in a city or you live in meth head central in the country either way not a good area. Find a nicer area with better neighbors, a good community goes a long way. If someone threatened you with a gun to open your safe you didn't hide it well enough or you are talking to much for your own good and you let word get out where it was and what is in it. Not trying to rag on you but I just think keeping something that could be life changing in case of an emergency, shouldn't be kept across town, locked up, where you access is restricted by the whims of others.

Trust no one. It looks to me like the system is literally built on Ponzi-scheming the masses. We give them real labor/resources and they give us IOUs tucked away until we are 65. EL OH FUCKING EL.
Everyone and their mother is going to be stealing EVERYTHING once we all learn that every single thing we call "wealth" just crumbles to dust in the face of scarcity and inflation. The only way so many of us ever had a "free lunch" was leverage sloshing around in stocks and real estate. Your wages are nothing more than arcade tickets to be spent at the prize-booth. Do you own capital? Do you own gold? Do you own real estate, heavy machinery, factories, tractors, backhoes? How about oil, copper and silver? I bet much of your "wealth" you imagined being spent on arcade-ticket tier spending. Consumption, services, vacations?
Guys, don;'t you see? Our whole lives are being rented to us! And the capital we do buy via stocks is so overleveraged that they're all guaranteed losses! 17x P/E ratios?! People buy that TRASH for their future??

This is something that has my head spinning. I work my ass off and barely get 1 ounce of gold's worth of money per paycheck. Most of that goes towards bills, etc. But the actual "savings" I accumulate on a weekly basis is so marginal that it need'nt be considered capital at all. It literally is "arcade tokens". I can have food, dining experiences, alcohol, maybe a nicer car or a piece of furniture or whatever. All of it lands within the realm of "consumption". I do not actually acquire capital, but simply produce work and labor to consume.
The NPCs do not understand this. They acquire capital only passively via retirement programs. And even then that "capital' is ponzi tier payments. No one is expected to extract their retirement and ask for it in commodity form.
I feel like there should be a more concise word for what I am saying here. We are being pinned between poverty and meaningful savers to foster us as a consumer-slaves.

Lets be real here anon, there's nothing wrong with fiat currencies until the greedy and corrupt get their hands on the printing machine. Unfortunately this happens every fucking time throughout human history because it's in man's nature to take more than what is needed. NPC's are not interested because they are of good nature, plus most people today live really comfortable lives than they did in the past so just ignore the criminality at the high level. The reality of the situation is that for honest money to prevail there has to be comfortable societal systems for it to thrive. That means providing examples of off grid living standards that are better than the ones that come from the state or multinational corporations. If you don't do that then what does honest money have to really offer. Also you'll be surprised how many people prefer security over uncertainty, it's the sad reality of it all.

They are related in their use as monetary metals.
They have an existing above ground supply. They have in-ground deposits, we have annual production numbers, we have demand figures etc.
There are plenty of ways to look at the relationship between the two. If we said silver comes out of the ground at 8:1 compared to gold that could illuminate some factors as to a fair price.
I think the big thing you are hinting at is the increase of industrial demand for silver. It is unprecedented the technological advances made during the last debt bubble. So there is a good case to be made that past valuations of silver no longer apply. The puny price tag it has now is literal peanuts compared to going to the grocery store to buy eggs for $4 per dozen. THAT comparison sort of bends reality.

Australia maintains some of the most restrictive Internet policies of any Western country and over the past two years has taken steps toward a nationwide mandatory Internet filtering scheme. Its neighbor, New Zealand, regulates the Internet considerably less rigorously. Australia’s constitution does not explicitly give the right to free speech,1 and in fact contains a clause giving the Australian government ‘‘communications power,’’ allowing it to regulate ‘‘postal, telegraphic, telephonic, and other like services,’’ including the Internet.2 A number of state and territorial governments in Australia have passed legislation making the distribution of offensive material a criminal offense, as the constitution does not afford that power to the national government.

After all, living in a dirty and unhealthy environment is an incredibly obvious way to get sick. We've all seen and experienced it in some form.
But on the other hand, I've gotten weird viruses from being around my kid nephew after he went on a cruise ship or being around family that had a sickness despite no other apparent changes in my lifestyle. This bizarre happening is very adequately described by the germ theory of disease.
It's too limiting and dangerous to assume only one can be true. And thus, I believe working out, having a healthy diet, and staying clean with anitbacterial silver-based hygiene is a manner to stay in high health.

Just put it under the floor or under the loft insulation. They're usually aiming to be in and out in minutes with xboxes etc or might check cupboards for guns, empty drawers out onto the floor. Taking the house apart in the hopes there might be a stash of gold under a floorboard is way too much.

They're linked because silver is physically 15x more common than gold, or at least it was until recently, it's a physical matter, not one decided by the governments.
Now silver is mined in 8x higher quantities than gold, and the above ground reserve ratio is unknown, currently there could be only 5x more silver than gold considering all the industrial usage of silver that cannot be recovered at all.

Because the paper silver price is manipulated and the manipulation ends when they have no physical silver anymore to back the price they're imposing.
That's the whole point behind hoarding lots of physical silver, to break the manipulation and you'll also have massive gains.

I believe it. It is obvious that unfunded liabilities are ungodly in size and the elite would LOVE for every person over 100 just drop dead IMMEDIATELY. Ideally they want you dead the second you stop working. They stole it all and assumed control over shit they can't deliver.
Knowing the state of the fiscal health of the globe had me refuse the vax on its face. The people in charge started two world wars, did 9/11, bankrupted America spending trillions to slaughter people in the Middle East. They wouldn't think twice about killing all of us the second they think they can get away with it.

I'm not going to spend much time on this because you have obviously made up your mind. But Home security is a multi-layered affair. You start by living in a good neighborhood where people are on the lookout for folks who don't belong. Then you get to know your neighbors so they will notice and respond to something like strangers casing the house or standing watch. Get a house-sitter for extended absences. Harden your perimeter. Implement surveillance. Shut your mouth. Be creative. Seriously, if real professionals have targeted you and have hours to spend in your home trashing everything unmolested, YOU did something wrong along the way.

It doesn't matter whether it was or wasn't. What matters is what evidence the police had before conducting the search. According to that article, the evidence they had was from unnamed sources and an undercover cop who asked about the business. If such little evidence is needed to steal every safe deposit box in a bank, what makes you think the government can't find a couple of unnamed witnesses to say your bank does the same?

Store your bullion however you want, but I see it is a form of savings outside government control. That stops working the second the government can control your bullion, as they can when it's in a bank.

My copypasta answer responds with, "Here are some options to consider" so you can decide for yourself.
- When a new series of artful or themed bullion (especially coins) is issued, the first of the series are usually missed by later collectors. They will pay high premiums to fill in the series. Consider the potential for series' popularity: generic and/or cringeworthy-themed series are less likely to appreciate above spot.
- Low-mintage series are often priced very high, but may increase in price the most (consider design popularity!).
- Gov't-issued coins cost least while minted. Once the mintage stops and dealers run out of stock, the prices jump then rise more slowly but still faster than generic silver. Maples, Eagles, Wieners, Britannias, etc. are all nice but boring. The mint may add a privy to add novelty thereby ginning up the price. Stuff that changes overall designs from year to year become series (Somali elephants, Canadian Wildlife, Australian kookaburras or koalas, island nations' series, etc.).
- If you buy pieces that appeal to your sense of art, taste, and interests, you will still appreciate them even if the price or value of the PM goes nowhere. Caveat: if you go to sell, it's harder to part with them.
- Some beautiful generics are priced comically high (Germanias, GSM special editions, e.g.) - they don't follow the market trends as readily, garnering peak price only while fashionable. Be aware: dealers may categorize and price these as "generic" (meaning below spot) when buying them from you. Or the gamble might pay off as they become very popular (Englehard, PAMP, antique miners/refiners, e.g.).
- For new generic bars, watch the markups over spot: premiums (added charges) go up for smaller pieces.
- Shipping is an added premium. Many vendors offer free shipping for purchasing a minimum amount (commonly $200).
- Keeping a spreadsheet of your purchases to track profit/loss is quite revealing and will help you make future decisions.

>If someone threatened you with a gun to open your safe you didn't hide it well enough or you are talking to much for your own good and you let word get out where it was and what is in it.
So just speaking from second hand experience, my father grew up in a nice neighborhood. One day, when he was a kid, some socioeconomic-factor-Americans stalked his brother back to the home and took the entire family captive for about 6 hours. The entire time they kept asking "Where's the safe?" My family was really confused because they didn't have one.
You see, basketball Americans believe that if you are white and have a clean house that you basically live in a mansion, and movies taught them that mansions have safes in them. So they tore all the paintings off the walls. Then they ripped up all the carpets. They moved all the furniture. Bashed holes into the floors and walls. Basically just destroyed the house looking for something that wasn't there.
It's difficult to imagine what a criminal would do because they're generally idiots and emotionally imbalanced people. This is a concept called "donkey space." You think you're being clever because you hid your gold in a tricky spot. It doesn't occur to you that they'd set you're entire house on fire to steal 1 ounce of gold.

Yes let's be real for a second, first if you are living in an area that has groups of robbers roaming around its not a nice neighborhood full stop, your father grew up in a shit neighborhood end of story get over it. Second if you can't notice that said group of robbers is following you around you are a fucking moron. Third if the robbers break into your house and are able to take you and your whole family hostage for hours while they tear your house apart and no one notices or cares, you are in a bad neighborhood. Why didn't they have the door and windows locked, why didn't they shoot them when they tried breaking in, why didn't they call the cops, why didn't anyone in the neighborhood call the cops, etc, etc. It sounds to me like every single step along the way and every excuse you come up with boils down to two things, live in a better area, and don't be a fucking moron. If you have the spare cash to buy tens of thousands in PMs you have the cash to move and to buy a gun, now quite being purposely moronic.

False, a dummy safe should cost you just $30 - $50 like a harbour freight one. The expensive safe should be dual purpose, like protecting against fire so you store emergency, cash or your seed phrase of your crypto

I'm not really sure what you're trying to suggest as the best option.
My two-safe idea was rather facetious. If you have a dummy safe that stops them searching, you shouldn't need a second one - just a decent hidey hole.
So what ARE you saying - don't hold PMs? That's avoiding the question. It's, "If you have PMs, how do you best store them?"

In my honest view you should keep at least some of your PMs in a safe deposit box. Some you should keep at home in the event that you somehow lose access to this box.
>but what about that one incredibly specific incident where the FBI took stuff from a bank and people----
I don’t care. There are millions and millions of safe deposit boxes in this country that this did not happen to so it is a shit example. Stop using it. You are far more likely to lose your stuff because of theft or natural disaster than lose it because the FBI confiscated an entire bank.

This is reasonable. My one objection would be that boxes cost rent, and depending on how much is in the box, that can make the effective premiums stupid high. You can insure PMs as part of the household goods. So I would store the hard-to-replace items in the box and allow my home to store the bulk generic crap.
And I agree, the one confiscation incident is statistically miniscule, but the fact that it's recent means it is a data point to be stowed. If something like this happens again, it might be a portent of things to come.

I've bought a ton of 999 for 28 over a year ago so i feel like it's a pretty good buy. I was stacking canadian 80% to avoid US Constitutional premiums, but this MM price is about the same cost as canadian so it's kind of a no brainer. dunno how long this sale price will last

>The FBI and US Attorney’s Office misled a judge who issued a warrant for a controversial raid on a Beverly Hills safety deposit company that uncovered $86 million in cash and millions more other assets, according to a new report.

ONE you read that right one robbery in ten fucking years, it was the town moron, he broke into the gas station, didn't wear a mask, stole six hundred bucks in smokes and got caught the next day because everyone in town knew he fucking did it. You know why he robbed the gas station and not someone's home? He would have gotten blown the fuck in half thats why.. Getting robbed isn't just bad fucking luck and an unavoidable part of life, take some responsibility for yourself and the environment you choose to live in, take some of that money you have and move to a nicer place instead of making excuses for your shitty neighborhood.

Buy a used safe and save major $$$. Safes are rated by UL. The rating is the only thing that matters. TL-15 will stop most burglars. Make sure it's bolted to something if light enough to be wheeled away. You can add fire resistance to a safe later (on the outside, or via a smaller fire-resistant container inside) so focus on getting the highest TL rating you can afford. Europe has a different rating system but the principles still apply.

That sounds like a nice town, I am happy for you. The story I related to you is from several decades ago, probably before you were born. My father (on social security now) was an elementary school student at the time. I don't know why my uncle (who was probably 15) specifically was targeted and suspect no one ever will. It was the only home invasion in that neighborhood that I know of and hasn't happened again there since.

The original point of our conversation was you were saying no one who breaks into a house would look for a safe unless the home owner was blabbing about a safe. My retort is simply that crooks don't need to know, they are idiots and will generally assume these things. If you're keeping things in a safe because you're afraid someone is going to break into your house I find it strange you would be so incredibly resistant to the idea that sometimes houses are indeed broken into, sometimes with occupants at home.

you guys are such schizo drama queens. someone says they don't put their shit in a safe and you draw the big brained conclusion that it's an organized effort to demoralize /pmg/. get a real life and you will begin to realize that nobody gives a shit what you do or don't do with your pms, least of which on the himalayan basket weaving forum

I can tell you that if a pack of brown people followed a kid home in my neighborhood, calls would be made and guns would be drawn. Maybe if they came in a very stealthy way in the middle of the night and could somehow break in without alerting the dogs or armed occupants, MAYBE it could happen. But pretty damn unlikely and a VERY risky strategy in a place where it is estimated that 3/4ths of home owners are armed. There is a reason burglary of occupied homes is rare in the USA.

Thanks fren.
So one could say that the price of silver dropped with the shrinking money supply while the banks who had most of the gold turned out to be richer because they could declare gold as money, right?
The amount of gold institutions hold is also a risk I see nowadays. A goldbacked currency would be still easy to control for them but the impacts of shrinking and increasing the supply would be not as huge as with fiat due to the scarcity of gold imho.

I really doubt Germany in its current form could create anything resembling a 4th Reich.

I don't see why France would fight Germany under any circumstances, the former is a puppet of the latter. But I can think of several scenarios in which Poland is repartitioned.

This will happen at some point, but probably not in 2023.

The US will have a Civil War at some point in the future and will likely result in a Military Dictatorship of some sort. I don't really see a post-Civil War American Regime allowing Texas and Cali to exist as separate States from it, though.
As for Elon Musk, he's controlled opposition, I guess he could be installed at some point under some circumstances.

The financial world will become Multipolar, there won't be a dominant market. Commodities will be traded at different prices in different countries.

Bretton Woods Collapsed in 1971, so I assume he meant Post-Bretton Woods. Besides that little error, I think this one is pretty accurate, I've been hearing even as far back as 2017 that the USD will be replaced by various SDR derived CBDCs.
