But I don't know what I should build. I am looking for ideas. I can build anything involving dapps and web3, backend and frontend. I have spent this year building https://redeemable.app (decentralized crypto gift cards) but now I am realizing that I need a lot of marketing and lead generation to make any money using it, which I do not have money for. So I figured I'd ask /biz/ if you have any ideas.

What kinds of dapps or web3 services can I build that would not require anything other than my time and development skills? I'd appreciate any advice or input.

Make a decentralized bulletin board but like we had in the early 80's and set all messages to completely self-destruct 15, 30 , 1 hour or whatever after they're written. Archive absolutely nothing and allow completely free speech. Do not allow attachments in any form, only text and also have a in-site like shitty aestethtic MS Paint app so we can draw pepe's and shit. Literally, please do this. You can call it whatever the fuck you want but my vote would be to call it: Niggerfaggot.mil

I am looking for something that can ideally be validated at small scale in a weekend/a couple of weeks of building. A painkiller vs. viramin like I have built with Redeemable.

Yeah we're in a winter bear cycle right now, but surely there is still plenty of opportunity for builders in the space. I am looking for something that can start small, be validated while still small, and be optimized/scaled from there

Elon saving twitter does change the landscape and reduces the most pressing urge for web3, but in a roundabout way this might be good. It used to be that web3 was for banned alt-righties, which was a constraining typecast. If it gets mixed up with some lefties fleeing Elon, it might help move the perception of web3 to “for everyone”.

without cheap microtransactions there's no point in integrating payments into an app as the legacy payment networks are cheaper to operate and the barrier of entrh for users is easier, they dont have to learn anything new.
but if you can integrate cheaper microtransactions you've now got an advantage over your rivals. getting ideas is easy, find a project that has a real growing user base and replicate it using the blockchain that's the most suitable for the project.
Also consider the unique properties of the blockchain and what it offers over a standard database.
But remember the first thing I said, its only worth doing if you can out compete prior established competition

Build a library site for literature works and medical texts/docs on ICP, charge access to content, gather most material with a scraper tool and pay a fee for any key works you want that you do not have. Second idea, exchange site where parties exchange crypto for real goods via barter, simple trust system where packages would require tracking and tokens would be held till confirmation by the other party for goods delivered. Require a minimum amount of value of a item to barter to gate low quality and low value items from being posted, again on ICP is suggested but up to you, might require one extra person to operate for customer service issues if it gets big enough. Good luck with whatever you make in the future.

This already exists in web2 and web3 is not really necessary for this to function

This wouldn't be easy to validate in a short amount of time, as it would require a lot of dev work and then even more sales work to spin up into something with actual users.

There should be something like mail for adress to adress communication and notifications. If you want to track particular adress, it would be useful to set notif if adress does some action, but in a way that nontechnical person can do. If dapp needs to notify you say like aave for liquidation you get notified on phone. Mabe you have more wallets for other stuff so you want to see notis as well without needing to log in with each adress separately. I think aave started using some notifcation protocol recently, as well epns doing something like that. There's chat thing on etherscan but idk how useful it is and ethmail doesn't load. These fuctions all exist but I think one app that becomes standard way of onchain communication and encompasess it all is needed.

Also, Etherscan already offers this feature. You can subscribe a number of addresses to a watchlist and get an email notification whenever they do something.
