I try to go open houses for mansions and other expensive homes. I look around and if its staged I get into the bed in the master bedroom and sometimes take a short nap.
The most expensive home was 16mil and had a private beach.

2-3 hours outside of Boston MA in Maine.

Outside of the North East megapolis, but close enough to go there every day if I needed to.

One down the street in a similar building with similar square footage just sold for 100k more than I bought for. Every building here is different but that is a great sign.

220k when i bought it in 2015
270k around when i paid it off
480k at the peak
and 407k today
you turned your fake internet meme currency into real goods, too, right? the base cost of ownership for me is just $533/month in property taxes, $200/month in HVAC, and $120/month in water/sewer/trash for a total of around $900/month
or call it $11,000/year
so, at today's price, i can sell my house anytime in the next 9-10 years and profit after expenses. more likely though i will add solar panels and offset all of my energy usage, i think those bills will go up before anything else does

texas. and we're working on cutting that to zero, by the way, starting with property tax relief levied against the ISD portion of the bill, which is the biggest one. our state surplus can be returned to the people every year as long as we're considerate of the rainy day fund being apportioned sufficient to deal with future maintenance of the grid and of state roads and i believe railways are still our problem too not federal

Maine is a lot more hospitable in the summer than winter. I'm pretty happy here though. My tenant pays most of the bills and I can run my small business from home now.

Got out just in time too. My MA landlord basically doubled everyone's rent as I was passing papers on the place.

hi chud. please post a picture of your $97k plywood shack that's financed for 30 years at 2.97% (40% of your take home income) on 2 acres of economically worthless land that's frozen solid for 8 months out of the year.

I don't understand realtors. Knowing America, their involvement might be needed by law?
