Art has always been undervalued. AI will have no easier time selling art than human artists. The only difference is it can more quickly generate what nobody wants to pay for.

there isnt a way to make money using AI generated art now, that time has passed.
theres already millions of copyright free pieces of artwork out in the world even before considering what AI can create, why arent people making money out of those?

It's not hard to sell it, it's hard to create it.

Outsourcing art is a thing and people make tons of money there, I imagine this as cutting out of the artist out of equation which means more profit.

stable diffusion is the only AI that matters and (for now) nobody owns the rights when you create something with it. Anyone can technically use something you made. With that being said, as long as youre smart about it, it's impossible to tell if art was made by AI.

For now. Pretty soon, maybe in a couple of centuries, humans in developed cities will not need to do anything except eat, drink, fuck robots and donate sperm so that fertility is maintained at 2.0. We will not need to work, NEET life is the norm.

Good parents would still raise their children and likely would want humans involved in the education and tutoring process. Also for spiritual matters you'd likely see a preference within some quarters for biological clergy. The economy will shift completely to services with people doing jobs for status and clout. So basically the first world but on steroids.

He's talking about suing the people who build the AI for training on other peoples' art without paying them. AI doesn't create art from scratch, it combs through giant databases of existing art, learns to match elements from these images with keywords people search for, and then mix and match elements from images it's been trained on to 'create' a new one that fits what the person searched for. The new image isn't built from nothing it'll take a pixel here and a color there from an image from the training dataset. It seems pretty obvious that companies are sooner or later going to have to start paying artists in order to train bots on their work, look at what happened with Youtube.

There are only two reasons why anyone would spend any money on art. 1) they find seeing another human beings view on the world as visually depicted a moving experience. 2) to launder money. 2 remains but it's value is parasitic on 1) which is the core reason for the existence of art just as most artists of low talent are parasitic on this reason for arts existence and only make money because of laundering
