I know actual hedgie traders. They are typically Asians who are super good at math and they have to consistently make insane returns to keep their job. It's an extremely stressful gig, much better to work a cushy meme job in tech and use the generous income and free time build a portfolio and trading skills.


A lot of these traditional boomer funds are as fallable as anyone, this last year has shown that. If you're not running top talent and algorithms you risk losing money to a meme trader who just happens to have a better feel for market conditions.
