Make sure you're holding the right coins. Can't go wrong with Bitcoin. Imagine holding through a bear market into the bull, say 3-4 years and you miss the bull market because your coin did jack shit. Happened to me.

Yea, don’t. Could take 8-10 years to break even.

>> No.52872918

yeah, literally bought the top in jan 2018. After a year or so, i just stopped paying attention. and here we are again. sell now, or just check prices every month or so.

what was your mindset when you sold? like was it something you were thinking of doing for a while or was it done in a panic?

Keep doubling down until you're bankrupt and homeless. Then you'll KYS which will solve the frustration of having to wait ten years to break even.

I've been involved since October 2013 and, while not always fully allocated, always involved somehow.

"Holding through a bear market" is basically what the entire rest of the financial world does.

>> No.52873068

Held through the last bear and kept buying.
Went from 2k(2016)–>30k(2018)—>3k(2020)—>250k(2021)—>75k (now).

I never planned to cash out before 2024, but it’s still irritating to see my life savings fluctuate so much.

>> No.52873107

DCA'ing is OK if you don't need that money for a looong time. If you bought every monthly low during the dotcom crash you'd still need 3 years to BREAK EVEN. A little under 2 for the GFC. Be smart about when you deploy cash but always be in the market. And sell those bear rallies when you are given them.

held over 100k nkn during last bear and sold at the bottom of bottoms so if you are retarded enough to hold through a bear then at least keep it all the way

Never sell anything until at least after the halving. During the last bear I lost a lot of money trying to make small gains and failing, the best move is to just keep buying. Obviously try to guess where the local lows are when they come, but NEVER sell until the bull market is here.

I've learned to live off hatred and spite. I grind my shit boring job and keep getting back into the investing ring just to prove all the smug late night funny men wrong. My dreams of breaking off John Oliver's jaw and slitting his throat with his own teeth help me endure.
