Tomorrow is the big one. It'll be the dot plot that triggers it. When the Fed comes out with their new plot showing a 5.5%+ FFR it'll trigger panic selling like we saw in 2020. All at once the market will realize that the Fed doesn't care about the made up CPI number. They just want you to suffer and be poor.

I think it's risky. Oil's bottom should be 60, but it will probably stay above 70-80. Also and that's far riskier is the crack spread between Diesel/Gasoil and Crude oil. You practically have to watch the general stock sentiment, the price of oil and how high Diesel/Heating oil is compared to crude oil (look at the graphs to see that Diesel is not on the same level as crude), the last thing possibly being one of the reasons why although crude dropping, big oil stocks didn't fall heavily.

>A Labor Department report on Friday showed that average hourly earnings for private sector service-providing jobs rose 0.6% in November from the previous month, the fastest pace since October 2021. Annualizing the last three months of data, the numbers suggest a trend rate of service-wage inflation of about 6.2%, far too high for the Fed, which probably sees the sustainable non-inflationary rate sitting somewhere below 3.5%. Overall hourly earnings are climbing by slightly less, helped by goods-producing sectors, and nonfarm payroll growth slowed slightly to 263,000 jobs in November. But the service jobs are critical.

So I've longed and shorted options and stocks and stuff for years now but futures are an unknown wilderness to me. How would I go about manually recreating something like SOXL or TQQQ using futures, for the purpose of reducing fees?
Do I just buy the E-Mini 500 S&P? I have this vague knowledge that futures are risky, but as far as I can tell I just buy & hold & roll near expiry, is there any inherent liquidation risk if I'm long?
Also, is there a futures contract for semis? How do I discover things like the E-Mini 500 S&P in general?

The thing is that, aside from the tax stuff, dividends aren't inherently good or bad. A zero dividend company could be using their earnings for monster growth or it could be dead in the water, breaking even. Conversely, a dividend paying company might have some lucrative monopoly (XOM) or it might just be cannibalizing itself (VZ).

Switzerland not taxing capital gains sounds excellent. In that case, your best friend might be companies that skip dividends and instead use that money for share buybacks: https://www.investopedia.com/articles/02/041702.asp

Someone was giving me shit when I was talking about Ohms law last night. Let me explain what I meant.
Ohms law is not a fundamental law of nature like gravity. It is based on experiments with practical values of currents, voltages and resistances. That means that the expression of ohms law will not perfectly describe current, voltage and resistance at extreme values, it will not be reliable to use. What happens when you have a resistance going to practically zero wont be predicted/calculated by Ohms law because Ohms law only holds up for reasonable values that you see in circuits.
The anon was asking about resistance going to zero and implying that Ohms law means current would be infinite but because Ohms law is not a law of nature, it cant predict what will happen in that case. So if you thought there was some cool thing you could do making infinite current because you thought Ohms law was a physical law then youre wrong. Its boring answer but thats what Ohms law is.

No nigger, wage inflation is part of the narrative now. See >>52856423

>Inflation in the service side of the economy is harder to squash since the biggest expense for most businesses is labor. The cost of labor rarely declines like the price of goods such as lumber or steel or staple crops such as corn and wheat. “Because wages make up the largest cost in delivering these services, the labor market holds the key to understanding inflation in this category,” Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said in a speech two weeks ago. The problem is, the cost of labor is still rising rapidly. Average hourly wages have risen 5.1% in the past year, roughly double the annual increase in the decade before the pandemic.

It's a retarded investment.. just like most vineyards are just rich people hobbies and not profitable.

The thc threshold in the farm bill has been 1000% exploited. They tested the waters with delta 8 and delta 10.. you can buy that shit in any smoke shop in all 50 states now and it'd degenerate 100% concentrate. The next evolution of exploiting the farm bill is THCA which is just absolutely honked bullshit pretty much.. they aren't even trying to be legal they are just selling pot.

Yeah. You're pretty much right.

For example in a superconducting system, ohms law would give infinite current from a 9 volt household battery. Realistically speaking, there is only so much charge separated in the battery so that along with the discharge time will give you the current in such a system.

Also, as an aside, listening to you morons talk about nuclear fusion power is infuriating. Unless we are getting He3-De fusion, which we aren't, you arent going to see fusion plants in your lifetime. And even if you do, theyll be shitty in comparison to the 1960s fission plants in use today.

Thats no tip behavior. And I worked as a waiter.

Guess who has the better sense of humor now, retard! Me! I hope you enjoyed fucking around with me, because you paid me for the privilege, thereby reversing the typical role of waiter and customer! It doesn't matter if "spit in my food next time" because I won't be coming back you stupid nigger! Hahahaha

pretty sure this guy is a goldbug
but his claims seem reasonable, according to him and his new york fed friend they are going to basically print to pay for the loss
but more importantly if fed remittances to the treasury are negative
doesn't that mean that effect on m2 is positive?
like if they buy bonds at 100 then sell at 95, 5 is left in M2 permanently
at any rate the rate hikes actually seriously hurt their ability to contract M2 ironically, because they are also paying out higher rates in the RRP, which increases M2
if they had kept rates low and aggressively sold their balance sheet off it would contract M2 by trillions
so why did they start rape hiking in the first place?
what did darth powell mean by this?
