Most 1st World people are full of shit about their financial "struggles." They won't admit to it (whether or not they realize it), but their struggles are mostly self-inflicted.
>Expenditures exceeding income by idiots not monitoring their spending.
>Failure to recognize that multiple small expenses can add up to a large amount.
>Living beyond their means.
>Confusing/conflating wants and needs.
>Addiction (spending, gambling, substances)
Tell me about the people in your life who bitch and moan non-stop about being broke/poor, but they do it to themselves.

You are a putrid parasite and no matter where you try to hide or how many guns you buy, we will find you and euthanize you. You parasite can only parrot the same ol tired propaganda for so long eventually people stop trying to repent for the sin of "existing" nor engage in self hating, insecure and inadequacy ideology that preach that we are parasites and demand obedience, submission, and compliance. You are the parasites. Those who spew poison every time your putrid mouth opens. Financiers. Parasites. Know this. We WILL find you. And euthanize you. And it wont be murder it will be euthanasia. Because in reality you are just projecting. The words you speak, you actually feel this way about yourself. You are a deeply insecure creature who is in immense pain and suffering.

For myself, I have a few stories if people are interested? Here is one:
>Co-worker has compulsory promotion coming up which includes a pay raise.
>In preparation for this, he calculates what is new month net salary will be.
>He goes out and buys a fully loaded brand new truck because he will be able to afford the payments as soon as he is promoted.
>He doesn't get promoted on-time and absolutely loses his shit.
>Starts going off about how he is getting fucked and all that.
>Complains that he cannot afford to make the truck payments because he was living payday to payday.
>Everyone else calls him an idiot, because no one gets promoted on the exact day that they are supposed to and that it could take a month or two, but you will get back paid to the promotion date.
>He is forced to return the truck to the dealership, he trades it in for a mini-van that is in his price range and affordability.

Kinda the opposite. A bunch of people I know who either live with family or friends, and even though they don't have much, they spend on stuff they like, but never really claim to have financial issues even though they make almost nothing.

Not if you can't afford to buy it outright. Taking loans and buying investments that are not property is stupid.

That is the key thing. I have absolutely no problem if people want to spend their money how they want or go into mountains of debt. What I have issues with is when they do so and then complain about being broke/poor. Especially when they adopt an external locus of control and blame everyone/everything but themselves.

You should have a problem if people are in mountains of debt, because that's why everything is inflated more than holocaust numbers.

Oh I agree. I had to job hunt for the last year and didn't have a steady income during that time, but I also realized I was in an extremely good situation, with parents willing to hold off on collecting rent in their old house that I use (they live in a larger home a few miles away), and I really didn't have it bad compared to a lot of other people, so I tried not to mention to any of my friends that I didn't really have much money to spend on anything. Finally got a job and the whole experience has made me more thankful for what I have and far, far more responsible with my money since I had to budget hard for a year.

I can understand venting, but people who just complain constantly without doing anything I feel kind of miss the point. There is a lesson in everything... even if that lesson is letting go of your pride and admitting your mistakes or falling back on friends and family, temporarily, with the hope of one day repaying them or being there to do the same if they need it.

My girlfriend, who I'm trying to coach out of it. Eventually I'll be in full control of our finances and can point out a laundry list of bullshit she spends money on without acknowledging it. She doesn't really buy anything exorbitant it's just death by a million cuts.
