It’s going to be around come next run. Legitimate web3 project being used by the top crypto blockchains and has an iron grip and first mover advantage on its use case. Everyone wrote off Chainlink after the last bull and look what it did this recent one. GRT is the Ying to Chainlink’s Yang, opposite use cases but ultimately two sides of the same coin. Ignore the $40 EOY and $10 retards, but do expect this to hit near $5 next run. Go ahead, name a more legitimate project right now.

>> No.52835293

It surpassed 2 dollars last run. Stop being greedy

>> No.52835391

>>52835293
How is it greedy to assume the project will mature by next run and naturally be worth more? It’s added AVAX, Matic, and Arbitrium as well as a few other blockchains since last year and the hosted service is ending next year.

>> No.52836046

>>52835247
Optimistically, at least 16x-40x in hosted service query volume on mainnet is necessary for $5. More pessimistically, at least 24x-60x.

Basically, if that kind of valuation can be fundamentally justified, you're really not going to want to sell because the yield would be milk and honey.

HTTP call’s don’t make GRT redundant, quite the opposite. On Eth, smart contracts can’t call GRT, so it has been only for dApps. With ICP outcalls, ICP smart contracts can call the GRT indexing services directly.

>> No.52836734

>>52836146
I looked into it in response to another shill a few months back, and no, ICP cannot do what The Graph does. The basic indexer's compute specs alone would cost at least twice as much on ICP as centralized cloud services, and there's still a lot of unsupported functionality.

I asked the shill to provide evidence for his claims with all this in mind and he told me to "ask the devs." In other words, the claim is bullshit.

Report ICP shills and ignore them. They make Parsnips look like systems architects.

The monthly volume has flatlined in the 30-40B range this year, the same as September 2021. Bearish because it's not rising like the last bear market. Bullish because this is the baseline for the next cycle.

But to answer your question, unlikely. 2021 was a 5-6x, and we're currently 3x from the start of 2021. The historical assumptions here were of modest monthly gains compounding over time, but the contagion has taken a toll on user activity and growth in the ecosystem, which is The Graph's traditional bread and butter. Developer traction metrics also appear to be stuck at late 2021 levels.

2023-2024 will really have to surprise us.

I'm saying I'm bearish on crypto as an investment from a macro standpoint because higher interest rates means that it, like stocks, is facing competition with fiat-based vehicles for the liquidity that was expected to drive the next cycle, and CeFi's illicit cannibalization of retail really didn't help.

Less retail investment liquidity, less DeFi activity, less queries, less fees, weakened GRT value potential next cycle since it's DeFi's data backbone.

We're really close to the sabotage-the-books worst case scenario for valuation after the sunset of the hosted service, so I'm not particularly worried about GRT's downside at this point, but I'm bearish on broader near-term crypto usage/valuation upside, and doubtful there's even going to be another bull cycle in 24-25.

If not for these sector-wide reservations I'd be bullish on GRT.
