I don't know why I didn't, I've held since 2018 and been waiting for staking everyday. I guess part of me thought there would always be extra room in the pool after seeing how few staked during the early access period. Then, watching it fill up upon general access I felt the fomo. I scrambled to my wallet and moved tokens around but didn't make it in time. This is my story. Enjoy the rewards marines, I'll see you soon.

It's a blessing in disguise. LINK will never pump as it did in the past. It will have similar gains to other coins with similar mcaps. It will 10x to 20x at most. Sell your stinkie bag and get some smaller mcaps for bigger gains.

Oldfag here, ZERO chainlink staked, sorry but I'm not giving up control of my crypto for a year because of some boomer cringe 4% APY.

The fact that people are bragging about getting $100 per month is already telling

Why the fuck do people stake? It’s a scam. I can make 4% scalping options on the stock market in a single day. Anyone who stakes got tricked

>Why the fuck do people stake?

Cryptocurrencies usually enable staking literally to limit selling pressure when they expect the price of their token will go down. Most shitcoins have staking available on launch or shortly afterwards
It makes no fucking sense for Chainlink to release staking after 5 years besides trying to somehow limit the bleeding
As for staking itself, yeah it's shit. In a year from now you'll have 4% more tokens, sure, but the price of chainlink will be down 10%

Stare into my eyes and hear my words linkie

Let's get one thing straight. You WILL stake those link bags. You WILL be happy with a 4% commission. That much I can tell you. A guard will come by your pod three times a day to administer the mood detection test. Should it read "insufficiently staked," there will be an appropriate response. So, let me say it real clear. You're going to lock up your tokens for a while. You're going to share your profits with the state. Yes, it will mostly dump, and you're going to love it.

>> No.52814067

>>52813961
The way I looked at it was this: I staked 25% of my tokens. If LINK moons or dumps I still have 75% to sell off should I choose to. Meanwhile I am forced to diamond hand 25%. Yes, that could go poorly. It could also be amazing. What happens if LINK goes to like $100 and I decide to sell everything I can, but then a few months later it goes to $1,000 and beyond? It’s just as likely as anything else.

Unless it is organic real yield, where the project buys and burns coins with revenue from something like fees, it is a scam. Most coins' staking "yield" is just emissions from a treasury. This isn't yield, its deception and those tokens will run out eventually.

it's bootstrapping reputation before slashing and other stuff comes into play where fees and other computational stuff will be paid for by users accessing the network. proof of x will take off as it will be the new minimum, vrfs, deco, ccip, and feeds are already live, just currently being subsidized by serg and sponsors. all of this stuff will come with a cost in the future and will go to stakers.

Lmao if you can make 4% a day consistently then your could literally turn 100$ into a billion dollars in a short time.
Expert hedgefunds aim to make that consistently in a year.

Checked. Honestly every move I have made financially in the last 5 years has been general dog shit apart from buying LINK, so I'm just going to stick with it and staking is a safe way to stick with it and make additional income. Who knows what BUILD will bring, that could be worth multiples on the LINK yield.

Whatever happens from here probably can't be much worse than how my other trades have performed. Most of crypto is down 80%+ so I guess it's not just me... but I also made some shitty stock moves earlier this year. On top of that my expenses went up and I'm hardly saving anything right now.

LINK is realistically my only hope.

can we just appreciate the team's insane autism for a bit... they managed to get exactly half the pool through the early access staking... crazy stuff
>>52813820
if link achieves what it wants, then it will be a lot higher than that
remember that the tokenomics are very good as the market cap has to reflect collateral requirements ACROSS ALL dons. this was one of the main reasons link was so shilled here back in the day

This seems like a good place to ask.
I was a bit hasty when the pool opened.
My situation changed and I need to take out a little from what I staked as soon as possible.
Even just the rewards so far might be okay, though not ideal.
How do I unstake?

>> No.52818184

If Link goes to $100 anyone and everyone who’s holding now is going to sell some and take profits.
There’s zero chance it’ll go straight to $1000 after that without at least a 50% dip.
Personally, I plan to take 1000 Link worth of profit at $100 and hold/ stake the rest in perpetuity.
