I actually ended up getting into forex and buying/selling crypto all day. Bought a comfy home in a tiny village that nobody has heard of in my state and moved there and sit on top of a hill in a forest investing my life away. I have a job but its a low tier one stocking shelves at the local hardware store in the nearby hamlet. I think you can do it just make sure you have plenty of passive income coming in and you're able to weather a financial storm. also watch how you live and keep costs down no matter how fun it seems to sperg on unndeed items and goods.

I dunno OP, it's doable if you want to really scrape by. I would try to find something that has around a comfy 8-10% return and keep working for just a few more years, even if it's working just enough to sustain your current lifestyle.
2 years from now you should have another 100k on top of that. Maybe a little extra if you managed to save some more cash or find a decent investment.

The other option is moving to a third world shithole.

Why do you people have such a problem with working AT ALL? I don't mean like a typical 40+ hour per week job (because that is slavery), but is there nothing in between fucking full time work and 0 work?

Like how is it not possible to supplement what you already have by working a couple hours a day or something. 10 hours a week. Doing SOMETHING to make money so you aren't entirely dependent on your savings.

Well you can live off very little a year. at one point my lowest financially I made it work off $15k in the year. It was poor AF and I had to sell some stuff but I made it work. So 500k should help you take some time off. Again I strongly suggest >>52796464 and some of the other advice. If you feel like it down the road going back to work even 20-30hrs a week isnt bad once you get bored of sitting home. However since you wanna play video games you have a long amount of hours ahead of you of games to play. How bout just take some time off for now?

I work in the VFX industry so you can either end up with 40 hour weeks (rare) or insane literal 20 hour days, 7 days a week randomly. It's completely freelance meaning you'll be on a job for a month and then off the job for a couple weeks. This gives me time to think. If this industry wasn't so horrific for quality of life I would stay and ride it out, but in this specific situation very much in need of zee crypto life raft, badly.

yeah you can, especially if your job doesnt pay much and/or you think it would be easy to get a similar paying job if things didnt work out.

I quit my day job when I got to roughly that amount but only because it was fairly disposable in terms of its pay. I wouldn't quit a good career with only 500k saved unless you are extremely autistically obsessed with investing/trading and know you will be successful and want to do it forever

You're within a few transactions of making it. I'd buy t bills, keep working, & start entering the market again if there's another big leg down. Most in BTC/ETH and some in one or two alts like AVAX. Don't waste it if you can pay for expenses by working for a bit more.

Set an ultimate goal number, and a number you begin to DCA out. Don't get into a position where you want to kys from making it but hold on for even more and it dumps.

Don't bother with low cap shit, you're looking for a 6-10x. At 5 mil, you'd get 200k a year with 4% t bills, or 300k a year if you invest in some funds and average 6% a year.

It depends entirely how you want to live, what responsibilities you have, etc.
I took a year off 3 years ago to go to south east asia, it cost about 15k for the entire year living a good life in a simple modern apartment with good food and some activities here and there.
Techniquely you could live that life for 30+ years with what you have.

On the other hand, I have a friend couple of mine who make a combine salary of 275k. They own a big ass mansion, have 3 kids, and like 4 cars.
They told me that with their lifestyle, the house, car payments, the kids, and all their other expenses that they have trouble saving more than 10k per year.
So yeah, are you willing to go vagabond? Do you want a mcmansion and 6 jetskis? Do you have a family? We can't give you an answer unless you make your goals clear.
