No one was buying the long dated bonds it's why the yields kept pumping. They were waiting for rate hikes and shorting bonds all year playing a game of chicken with the fed. Maybe they really believed in a pivot or were trying to force one.. maybe they were just trying to jew as many pennies as they could.. who knows.. maybe they thought "this time would be different"

All I objectively know is true is there has been a massive flight of hundreds of billions of dollars into bonds in the last month

>Present: Ace of Swords - Excessive degree in everything, triumph of force
>Future challenge: Knight of Wands - Departure, absence or flight, emigration
>Context: The High Priestess - Secrets, mysteries, the future unrevealed
>Solution: Knight of Pentacles (rev) - Inertia, idleness, repose, stagnation

I interpret the Ace of Cups as "joy", eg Hasbro is a gaming company. Right now they are overproducing Magic cards and overdoing it. This will lead to a departure of players and stores from the game, or movement to other card games. The exact trigger for this is unknown (High Priestess). The solution is "idleness" eg, scaling back their print runs and being less aggressive.

They 100% paid people to shill the pivot narrative that was absolute horseshit built on nothing but hopium that directly contradicted everything the fed said

They 100% paid people to shill "inflation is cooling" even though it's not and the last two CPIs were 0.4% increase

Jerome Powell blatantly says inflation isn't cooling, we failed to tame inflation, rate hikes will persist and be higher for longer than expected and the media runs Santa rally/pivot stories.

I think they try one more Jewish scam pump on "bad news is good news" but this whole rally from 350 was built on bullshit and cope/people trying to front run the bottom. Another Jackson Hole day will come soon

Well, no, but they managed to collectively piss off every segment of their playerbase with the Magic 30th product and aggressively shilling it and advertising it (fake/overpriced Ebay bids, etc). I think they're trying to trick shareholders and win their confidence, but there's also the potential that between this and different macro conditions, their next 2-3 ERs won't look very good (due to less revenue from pissing off their players). Remember that Magic accounts for 30% of their profitability

>Maybe they really believed in a pivot or were trying to force one.. maybe they were just trying to jew as many pennies as they could.. who knows.. maybe they thought "this time would be different"
Midwit bobo overthinking it. It's as simple as they avoiding interest rate risk. There is no point in rushing into bonds when your "risk off" investment gets destroyed by the most aggressive pace of rate hikes in history. If you notice, the recent bond yield peak coincided with the October bottom in the S&P and that's because they both happened for the same reasons, the Fed telegraphing a slower pace of rate hikes starting in December and MoM inflation coming in below expectations. Short-term bonds are still not attractive while fed is raising rates but long-term is looking attractive even with yields well below what the fed's terminal rate is likely to be. So you're right it's a risk-off environment but it also signals a normalization of the market where bonds are recovering in preparation for a downturn, instead of everything being unwound at the same time all year long. Bullish!

Here's the bottom line, long-term bonds being bought up by the boatload is nothing new. Yields were low pre-pandemic and the pandemic sent them even lower and even though they cooled off a bit last year they never really crashed to previous levels. So long-term bonds were the most obvious short this year and now it's the most obvious long in the market but that won't prevent the S&P from recovering, because of the other factor you've not factored in yet, bond prices and equities having a positive correlation for the last several years of the bullmarket. Because most are skeptical of all rallies due to bad macro and most money is going into bonds, equities are relatively underallocated and getting forced higher by drip and hedging strategies all the time.

The question is not if whether or not X is causing the market to do this or that, or if it was Y or Z instead, but to what varying degrees all these things have influence in the market. Basically X, Y, and Z can all be simultaneously correct in that they all are contributing towards this or that price action in the market. Arguing if X or Y is thus the reason why we should be "bullish" or "bearish" is thus almost as nonsensical as it is foolhardy: Yes and no that X, Y, and/or Z caused these present market conditions, that is why the market is so unpredictable: It is a complex, emergent, dynamic system, a machine of many moving parts.

In short, please don't be fooled into such narrow-minded thinking when presented seemingly-definitive market commentary.

SOXL is just 3x the underlying SOXX index. SOXX is down 31% year to date, yes that is a lot, however....When/where the market bottoms, we will have a huge gain gain one year out.

In March 2009 to March 2010 the S&P500 went up 50%, and the Nasdaq went up 80%. From the COVID bottom to the top, SOXX went up 207%, but SOXL went up 1510%, that's more than 3x. If SOXL goes to 5$, and we get a 80% rally in SOXX, it's mathematically possible we see SOXL at 30$ one year out

>Those treated with tirzepatide had an average weight loss of 15% to 20% of their starting body weight over 72 weeks (about 16 and a half months). Those taking the placebo (an injection with no medication in it) only had an average of 3% weight loss

Not sure if this is it. LLY stock was going up whole year, not just since October.
As for the drug you mentioned, they received fast track designation only so far. Can still be rejected if FDA thinks it's bullshit. P2 studies are conducted by company itself and often times results are cooked (that's why only 10% of drugs make it through P3). Not sure if single drug can have such big impact on a company that has vast portfolio already too.

its probably the biggest reason, investors are betting big on the drug and it is projected to make them 5 billion, it wasnt announced in october, its been in development since 2016 and is a superior and direct competitor to NovoNordisks Semaglutide. plus you can already get a Mounjaro prescription, and prescriptions are soaring also theres a alzheimer's drug that seems to work that they are coming out with. a recession wont cause people who need to lose weight to stop buying this drug

Very good video and exactly what I expect as well. TL:DR
>europe economy is complete dogshit no matter how you slice it
>US economy is strong
>US could see a mild recession and a soft landing if all went right
>europe and china being in much worse shape have a very high risk of a credit event
>since most of the world is leveraged, contagion would take effect
>central banks would be forced to start QE
>inflation would obviously ramp back up

This is exactly why inflation is hard to stomp out.

it's a time horizon thing. in the short term we're currently in a bear market. in the long term, semiconductors are crack in everything but name. the world is currently on fire on the macro side of things, but that really doesn't change the fact that semiconductors are the most important technology that currently exists, and demand will only increase as time goes on. we'll constantly want better and better semiconductors as time goes on, and put them in more things.

so, it depends what you're trying to do. short term plays vs. long term plays, know what i mean?

>>52799616
That's fair, but there is a difference of being in a bear market and hitting crazy 5 year lows for something so high in demand

But ...
Whats with margines while Production capacity ruses and more players come into the Market?
Yes No way around Semis, BUT
Zhat dont mean we keep these Pricesas demand may not rise that much.
Not everyone wants a smart fridge or a smart toaster.

like i said: it's a time horizon thing. just look at /smg/ during market hours. or even with futures. it's all about OOOO AAAA posting about what price is doing literally right now. reacting. but other people are just buying and holding. im doing that personally with AMD for example. i'll likely buy into SOXL when the macro situation turns around, im more risk-averse when it comes to triple leverage when the world is still currently on fire, but as long as you didn't start buying too early you'll likely be fine in a couple of years if that's your prerogative.

also just because it's at 5 year lows doesn't mean it can't go lower. the issue is the triple leverage tbhwy. i'd rather buy a specific company on discount.

>>52799648
it's not about smart fridges or toasters, although that's obviously part of it. it's about things like vehicles and industry. i work in the semiconductor industry so i know this, and no im not going to write paragraphs and paragraphs to spoon feed you on this. you can start by educating yourself on just how many things semiconductors are in and what they're used for if you want to learn more.

yeah there's no guarantee semi conductors are profitable even if ubiquitous especially now that they are moving westward. that's like saying invest in food because everyone eats food. it's not even an argument as to why to buy
