Really depends. The premium for fractional is retarded, so if you are getting it cheap then you can make good money by selling around $15 over spot per 1oz. If you're buying at whatever retarded price dealers are putting it at, then you have zero hope of even breaking even, let alone profiting.

I generally avoid it unless I'm getting it very cheap. If you want fractional silver for stacking its hard to beat 90% dimes.

I've got some potsdam church and hindenburg/eagle 5RMs up for sale on r/pmsforsale and coinsales but I've only sold 8 and I have 68 left.
My LCS offered me $6.50/each which is about $16/oz so I'm kind of ticked off with him and probably won't go to his store for a while. I buy from him quite regularly and he knows me and has always been friendly but that was pretty low.
Anyway how should I unload these so I can buy some more gold and silver? Ebay is a last resort because I don't want to get raped by fess and the $600 reporting requirement would sneak up on my quick

looks like a 1924 double eagle, but its 9mm in diameter, probably 1/20 oz. doesn't fit the profile. not sure if it's worth anything, or if it's even real gold. any of you see anything like this?

Very nice, the 1921 golds actually circulated right? Far more authentic than the noncirculating restrikes. Mexican coinage is wonderful they made so many beautiful pieces, the Aztec eagle eating snake on cactus imagery is kino and coins like the Caballito are among the best designs ever created. Yeah the 1920s-30s OG cedars are the best and exude sovl, the later 1950s ones kinda suck. Lots of Maronite Christian Lebanese people fled the violence and immigrated to my hometown, my friend's successful businessman dad said that the Lebanese, descendants of the seafaring Phoenicians, were savvy in business because they were sandwiched between Muslims and Jews for centuries and had to be the best to survive. Mexican stuff has really taken off in the last two years or so. The gold used to be one of the cheapest options you could buy. Those fat 50 peso coins has stupid low premiums back a few years ago. The cap and rays silver coins have really taken flight also. Whats interesting is the low mintages of them, its extremely hard to put together a set of them. They do get a little pricey, but I still think the market is undervalued compared to the rarity of the coins.

Yeah the vintage/antique Mexican and southwestern turquoise jewelry seems really hot right now, I'm not sure when most was made but I think a lot is from the 1930s-60s. It tends to show up at estate sales so I'll scoop up all the below-spot stuff for the treasure hoard, being handmade gives the stuff plenty of character.

Clearly not anything that came from a government mint, so it isn't a "coin". It is some kind of reproduction for jewelry purposes. Hard to do "at home" testing when it is embedded in a ring. If it is gold, it will be worth its weight. If it is a decent-looking piece of jewelry, or something with collector value, then maybe more.

When they're encroaching on your house, wires, stuff of that sort. Other than that, I leave them alone, and try to convince clients to do the same.

They can take the cold. The moisture and pathogens that spring brings is a concern with species susceptible to fungal infections such as dogwoods. I've pruned just about everything in the winter months, without problems.

Managed to get the tree rounds as they were coming out, so it hurt only a little.

I was really thinking about buying 50g gold bar 2 days ago and then I just put it as a hedge into my other bank account which I can't use to pay anything, just store my cash in there. Now I see gold going up bit over 1% and the gold bar is almost 30-40€ more expensive today. I just transferred the amount back to my account and gonna buy the bar on Tuesday probably when the money arrives. Ironic thing is that the second I buy it, gold will go down 2% anyway. KEK

/pmg/ I need help, I'm going absolutely insane trying to figure this out. How on earth is a reverse proof bullion coin minted?

I get how and why regular proof coins have a shiny field. At a microscopic level, flat things are shiny and reflective while bumpy things are not. Such as still water or glass is very shiny, while tree bark and dirt is not at all shiny. So the coin is pressed so hard, at a microscopic level the metal in the field is almost perfectly flat. The relief is merely pushed upward into the die, which is why that can stay frosty/bumpy

But how the hell does that work BACKWARDS? No really, how the fuck do you press the field of a coin without flattening it and making it shiny, while the relief, the part NOT pressed as hard is the part the gets shiny? What the actual fuck? And information on this is basically non-existent despite the huge recent uptake of reverse proof coinage?

Even former US mint director Edmund Moy's book on bullion coins has no more than a brief blurb of "reverse proofs reverse the design of a proof and make the fields frosted and the relief shiny". What the hell? Am I going to have to hand write a letter to the new US mint director to try to get info? I'm losing my mind trying to solve this.

Thanks for noticing fren, it's a middle Bronze Age dagger found in a waterlogged tannin rich marsh/bog environment in the Netherlands which accounts for the exceptional state of preservation of the metal and bone handle, the ancient symbol inscribed on both sides makes it even more remarkable. 99.99% of ancient bronze is thickly patinated with their wood/bone components having turned to dust aeons ago. Not sure if the cracked blade is due to a ritual "sacrifice" of the dagger or accidental but bronze was very precious and never casually thrown away. I was very lucky to get my hands on it, pieces like it are rarely seen outside museums.

>>52803907
>Would .925 be a better buy if you are buying them only for silver?

Yes absolutely, it requires more chemicals and effort to process lower purity alloys into .999 so depending on the refinery anything under 70-80% will be worth less when selling or cost you more to get refined than good stuff like .925. If the price per ozt asw is the same definitely get the sterling. I think .500 smolbois like 3 pences might be worth a little premium and wouldn't mind having a pile of them but generally speaking it's not a desirable fineness.

Yeah I'm pretty conflicted but more so leaning to the former. Though, I don't think it's falling below $31 AUD for a while

I noticed before the last jump (which coincided with Powell's speech), someone was buying up huge amounts of silver and gold. the volume being moved was enough to drop the price each time.

I remember buying 1kg Ag for like $1080 AUD only a few months ago. Crazy to see it close to $1200 now. Even kangaroos are $41. Is it that normies are finally waking up or are (((they))) pumping before dumping?

Anons were saying it's pumping every time they try to replenish the coomex. Then it's supposed to dump on the 15th after the fed raises interest rates. I guess we wait and see. I'm saving my fiat till then, just in case.

Great minds think alike. I've got a big shipment coming in of Ag and Au and then will stave off for a bit and watch prices

>> No.52806869

IIRC, last time Powell spoke (about a week ago), he hinted at easing the inflation fight and that things are looking good. This caused silver to spike, people blamed it on the dollar having "permission" to dump a bit. This shit is so tribal I get spun up and just end up buying more silver regardless of spot price.

I'll be doing this regardless of what happens on the 15th. I can only tolerate digital numbers in my account for so long before I start getting anxious. Thinking about a tube of Arks as my next fiat/silver trade.

You kinda have to. Women are born narcissists. The more you let them talk (about themselves) and just sit there and listen (or pretend to do so) the better your odds are of getting in their pants. Just sayin'.

i just love stacking copper.... serious weight for a fraction of price of silver/gold. and so pretty. just bought 10 more from ebay at 27euros / kg. could get straight from geiger mint at 26, but for some reason they dont ship outside germany anymore. and apmex sells these at 79 dollars in us. why is copper so expensive in the states?

granted, copper is not that easy to resell (yet), but im prepared to hodl 20+ years. (1 tesla car uses 100kg of copper....) premiums are high yes, but if you think about it, it costs the same to refine copper as it costs to refine gold / silver, so actually premiums are pretty reasonable, i think. like this 1 kg copper for 27 euros, and the base metal price is 8,50. so the premium for 1 kg copper bar is 18.5 euros. premium for 1 kg silver bar is about 150 euros. premium for 1 kg gold bar is 2000 euros. .. i like going H E A V Y
