Warning for fellow anons, there are a lot of fake 2022 Silver Eagle type twos going around. I bought 60 on eBay and they were all fake. If you see any listed for $30 or something like that be very suspicious. The weight is very close, the size is just a hair off, and the sound is close. Specific gravity proves fake, and ping test on phone caught them. I took to pawn shop to double check. The sellers on eBay told me to just keep the coins and refunded me. Return address was fake anyway. I left bad reviews and reported but they just relisted more. It’s a shame because people are giving them good reviews. They have sold 40 sets of 7 for 215 as far as i know. Only me and 3 others said they were fake in the reviews. I can name the sellers i bought from if anyone wants to know but eBay doesn’t do shit.
Be careful out there anons. Always double check. My local pawn shop will check anything i get for free.

Not really. But no need to shell out 15K to test your silber, fren. Just buy a vial of nitric acid and a touchstone for 10 bux total and it's as efficient. Just be sure to be careful while manipulating the acid, some ebay sellers are completely reckless and don't sell those with the correct conditioning.

Like anon said, get yourself a touchstone and a bottle of 70% Nitric acid. Then go to ebay and search for potassium dichromate crystals.
Dropper bottle
30ml nitric
1 - 1.5g potassium dichromate
Mix
You now have schwerter's solution. Rub item in question on touchstone. Place one drop of solution onto metal under test on touchstone. If it's silver it will turn blood red. Anything, and I mean anything, other than bright blood red is not silver.
Exercise caution around the potassium dichromate. It's not overly toxic, and occasional exposure is not dangerous, but safety first. Wear proper ppe for strong acids as well.

Secret service is a joke. They have ZERO ability to stop their manufacture in china or stop their import to the us. The usmint and their anticounterfeiting "technology" is also a joke. There are probably more fake eagles in circulation than real eagles. If you want to avoid counterfeits on sight your only option is to buy extremely high quality coins that aren't worth the cost to counterfeit when the counterfeiters have better options like trashy eagles. Pic related. Britannias are also good.

Can confirm, I've been having my dad pick up all the Nazi and earlier German silver that shows up at the LCS because they put everything that isn't rare or uncirculated in the scrap bin and sell it for spot. He got me another 2 and 5 at melt a few days ago along with more typical Canadian stuff for himself. Would be nice if they got a load of 100+ at once to scoop up but they only seem to get windmills a few at a time. I know other anons have their own based LCS with scrap bin cheapies, it's definitely not a unique situation.

Have you never been on eBay either? There are hundreds of listings for counterfeits both active and completed covering the whole spectrum of fraud, from listings where they mention being plated in the description to people outright selling them as though they're genuine. ASEs and Morgan dollars are the most faked "silver" coins on earth and muh secret service doesn't do jack shit about it.

Checked. Did you purchase it or mix it yourself? If purchased, they typically have a usable shelf life of about 6 months. If you mixed it, you can try to freshen it up with a few ml of nitric and a dash of fresh potassium dichromate. It's not advisable to try and refresh commercial solutions because it's impossible to know what chemicals in what ratios they used to produce it. It's cheap to purchase though.

Thanks for the advice anon, yeah it's a vial I bought 3 or 4 years ago I didn't know it goes bad so quickly. I had it in my uninsulated garage for a while too. I have a 15 year old jug of nitric acid, does that go bad and become unfit for testing? You're very welcome silver bro. Nah, the nitric will be fine, though it may have discolored with age. Over time nitric acid (NaNO3) will "leak" Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) bubbles as some of the water evaporates out of solution. This will give the NaNO3 a yellowish tinge. It's still completely usable, though you should open it up outside to allow any free NO2 to escape. NO2 is extremely poisonous.

Thanks fren, I appreciate it. You're the based silver home-refinerybro right? I really need to git gud with chemicals if I'm gonna take things to the next level, I'd love to grow silver crystals like sreetips with his silver cell. You may appreciate this cheapie I just scored on eBay, a clearly hallmarked Poole sterling teapot with no weight given but i found a listing for the identical make and model# with a weight of 28.4ozt so mine will be roughly the same. Gobbled it up fast before competition caught wind, $185.50 shipped with tax for around $610 melt value. It's pretty chunky for a piece of sterling and makes up for a rather dry week. Estate sale deals are often better as you know but for eBay that's a pretty legit price, good luck and happy hunting out there.

I'll know when I get it but an identical example of that same make and model number teapot was listed at 28.44ozt, it's a bigboy and should weigh around the same +/- an ounce or 2. eBay is full of garbage deals, the trick is specifically looking for stuff listed improperly by people ignorant of the value of sterling. Some subcategories are rich in good silver not listed right and definitely worth checking periodically, also certain search strings I've honed weed out the properly listed stuff that'll always sell high and are worth running every 3-4 days. If you're not getting enough scrap locally you might consider trying, I'm sure you have a good eye and wouldn't screw up like a noob. Perhaps we can share secrets directly via email sometime.

It's a difficult question. Depends on your expectations and lifestyle and why you're stacking to begin with.

For me it's strictly a store of value that diversifies my overall portfolio. I am building generational wealth. It is not a "get rich quick" scheme for me. The general recommendation for this use case is 5-10% of your portfolio.

Others believe that the price of silver is severely undervalued. For those cases, I would look at the historical value of silver in fairly recent history (say 1900) and use that as your benchmark. You may still arrive at the 10% portfolio mark.

Others think the apocalypse is about to happen and this would be the only money that's viable in that scenario. If that's you're use case, you should have at least 6 months of expenses worth of PM and also 90 days of food/supplies, plus firearms to protect all of that, and a defensible location.

My friend who isn't knowledgeable on PMs asked if he could buy some of my silver. I said I can't because he's be mad if I charged him what I would still it for.
He said he'd pay me $27 per coin.
I said "sure, let me grab my war nickels and 40% Kennedys.
He said that's not what I mean, I'll pay you $27 per ounce.
I said sure, let me grab my baking scale.
He didn't understand the trick so I explained to him there are food ounces and troy ounces and troy ounces weigh more, except they aren't called food ounces, I don't know what your call them.
He thought about it a second and said "you can call them goy ounces!"

Kek. When it comes to the low-level eBay scammers things like worn silver coins that they sell by the ounce are often found to be 1oz Avoirdupois upon scrutinizing the description, however if they're selling "1 full pound" of coins be assured that it's a Troy pound (12ozt). Such petty niggardly semitism like that simultaneously infuriates and amuses me, it's a weird feel.

In other news, I applied for a credit card today, simply because I want to get one of those cash back cards when my credit is good enough so I have more money to buy gold with. Any PM specific advice on doing this? I have a pretty good grasp on what I'm doing in general (leave little or no balance, build up credit over time, don't apply too many places at once.) I highly doubt there's a gold card that rewards you with actual gold, but there could always be something I didn't think of.

Yes, anon. I do this. I use my reward points to literally get frer gold.

>open a credit card with cash back or rewards points
>use credit card for almost everything
>pay it off daily or weekly, as not to ever acrue interest
>save up points
>buy bullion using you card
>use points to pay off purchase

Before I deleted my PayPal account, I could even pay for the transaction directly from my points (when chevking out via PayPal). Now though, I'll just pay for the gold on my card and then pay off that transaction using my points

if you pay it within the initial billing period, no interest charges. You can purchase an item, and as soon as the transaction clears, pay it off. Theres high and low interest cards, and cards with no interest for a period of time, sometimes a year. One card I have has a 6%? interest rate per year, but most have something like a 25% rate per year. So if you left a balance on it over the billing period, which is a month, you would get charged a hair over 2% per month. This obviously add up over time, and worse, compounds. Credit card companies make money from both the buyer and seller. They charge the seller 3% or more on each transaction they make, so they already have their cut before it gets to your turn. Being smart with your credit means taking advantage of promotional offers and cash back or similar rewards. There is the real danger of buying more than you would otherwise, but as long as you pay off the balance, treating it like a debit card, you should be good.

1. Enough people won't so they make their money on volume.
2. When you are as big as visa, the rules don't apply. It's more about how much of the economy you control than simple profit. It's all imaginary anyway, 90% of money is bank ledger entries that aren't even backed up by federal paper. This is a deep concept, and if you hang out in this crowd long enough you will be exposed to resources to help you understand. It's far too much for me to explain here.

Ill probably try for another cash rewards card after the 1st of the year, US bank has a card where they give you $200 back, so just look at it like a very nice discount. Credits over 800, so its not hurting me anyway. A greater amount of available credit actually helps your score out more than credit inquiries, so theres that also. That's the CME Group/JPM desperately clinging to the 33Moz mark in registered. They REFUSE to go below. So the trades are settled OTC via EFRs for what should be leaving the vaults, and they are transferring the rest directly from their eligible positions (part of which is supposed to cover SLV shorts), or simply buying elsewhere to then recategorize it.
As long as they refuse to see the 33 threshold pierced, prices will slowly creep up, there is no way around it. And it have been like this since fucking mid-october, can you believe it lol?

The question i'm interested with is : why 33Moz? After all, it's just an arbitrary number, nothing wrong with going down to let say 25Moz, right?
Unless... unless 33Moz = 0Moz? Maybe the books are cooked to make it looks there is more silver in their vault than there truly is.

Also this...

There exists a unique numerical configuration:

Prime(12) = 37
Prime(21) = 73
Do you see the double mirror?

37*73 = 2701 which is the Hebrew gematria of the 1st verse in Torah.
12 + 21 = 33
Prime(33) = 137, the gematria of QABALA. This number is considered the interface between the mundane and transcendental realms in Qabala. A big deal, indeed, for esotericists.

33 is the highest degree in Elite Freemasonry.
The ENGLISH gematria of the phrase
“The thirty third degree of illumination” = 2701

You seem to be doing quite well anon. A lot of it is just patience and timing. Sometimes luck jumps in. Always pay attention to hallmarks. I'll share one with you here though. I'm sure you've heard of International Silver. They were once renowned for high quality plate. But, it's still EPNS plate. What a lot of people - and I mean even people in our hobby and estate sale managers - don't know is that International Silver also produced a line of products under the name International STERLING. These goods bear no .925 stamp, and they bear only an IS hallmark. However, somewhere on the item it will say INTERNATIONAL STERLING just like that. All caps. They are 92.5% sterling silver. You can quite often get these pieces for the plate price, because people aren't aware that they ate real sterling.

I guess I never even considered that mine were fake. Bought 20 @ $18 apiece back in March or April when we cleaned out Golden Eagle Coin of his stock in a couple hours. Very reputable dealer. Though he did start upping his price after the first hour.
The other guy that I purchased from was a German Ebay seller with thousands of coin sales and a %100 rating. Out of the 32x5 RM that I have, no two look the same as far as "dirtiness" or tarnish. If per chance they are fakes, someone went to a lot of trouble for the price they were selling them for.
I've seen other sellers on Ebay that offer them and they look like they were just struck yesterday, no dirt, tarnish, or dings. My gut tells me to stay away.

One cannot simply buy ONE kilo bar.
You're gonna need at least 4 more to keep it company.

The solution is simple.

Keep buying so the price keeps going up. If the orice per ounce goes to 50 then 30 is cheapie. If 100 then 50 is cheapie. Rinse and repear

I reguarly visit wall street silver. PSLV is better than other paper silver because they, oestinsibly, actually have the reserves but physical has over whemingly beem the preference on wall street silver.

Dont buy PSLV unless you physically acquire silver.
