There is inherent risk in using any new smart contract. There can always be mishaps or exploits with something new. Something unforeseen. That is literally crypto 101. You never risk more than you can afford to lose.

Many just decided to be the test guinea pigs for 12 months on the first iteration of the the staking contract with their whole net worth.

Not to mention if there is a parabolic run in that 12 month period you can't capitalize on it whatsoever.

If it goes to $0, I lose.
If it goes to $1000, most of my stack is still liquid, and I can still sell some for profit.

Otherwise, those 7000 LINKs were just going to sit in my Ledger wallet and collect dust ... might as well put them to work collecting more LINK.
