How can you become addicted to stacking Reichsmarks?
I mean they are very "powerful" coins just in how antithetical they are to the world we live in, but unless you're trying to assemble a complete set of dates and mintmarks there isn't really a compelling reason to buy more than a handful. There are only Four different designs (six if you count the Martin Luther and Schiller commemoratives) and none of them look particularly good beyond the Reichsadler. Personally, once I filled a Half Dollar Tube with 5 RMs, I began feeling like I had my fill with them and started getting into more interesting German Coins like pic related.

Well, I libe them for three reasons. First, as you say, they're powerful. Meme magick tier. Second, they (the 2RM ones I'm stacking) contain only 5g of silver each which is small enough of an amount for buying stuff like eggs or meat at tve Farmer's market. I'm kind of hoping to get to use them one day for this purpose. They're kind of like mercury dimes in that regard. Third, since they're so small I get a lot of them for my money even if they're slightly more expensive per oz than fresh Maples or whatever.

I'm not so sure if touching your stack is going to be necessary. Our masters want to retain control after monetary collapse so it's not in their interest for things to get too wild. Basic necessities are going to be provided if at all possible. Otherwise you get rioters btfo their government at which point things get dicey.
>gold backed
Gold backing is a scam. We already tried this. Why repeat the same mistake? Use gold and silver directly. If you want to send money over the Internet just use a regular crypto. It doesn't have to be backed to be useful and thus valuable. Tying the value to some gold in a vault somewhere doesn't add anything. Bitcoin (or better yet Monero) will always have value as long as there is demand for it. Mixing the two doesn't add anything but the ability to scam people with lies.
>>52753941
Necessities like food are getting more expensive here. I guess the stock market crashing might count as deflation. Seems like it's mostly financial products are getting cheaper. If you think of fiat currencies financial products it kind of makes sense.

You don't need crypto to send gold or silver. You can wire it like Western Union wires fiat currency today. That technology has been available for more than a hundred years. Whatever problems crypto solves, international electronic money transfer is not one of them.

You can't wire gold or silver. At best you can wire an IOU. Maybe it gets added to some kind of bank account immediadely but that's just another IOU at the other end. Until you get the gold out of there it's not really yours. The closest thing you can do is shipping it but that is cumbersome.

Hard to know which banks are buying the gold but it looks like the BRICS are growing their reserves while the goodest goy countries like the UK and Canada have almost no reserves.

Wrong. It works just like paper currency today. I go to Western Union, hand them an ounce of gold. They give me a passcode. I text the passcode to my recipient. He goes to Western Union in his locality, shows the passcode and they give him an ounce of gold. It is that easy and gets even easier when gold and silver are remonetized because many competing versions of Western Union will arise. The idea that every international transaction requires a courier to deliver physical gold across the pond is silly.

>> No.52754258

>>52754196
I'm not saying bricscoin or cbdc dollar won't be backed by gold or whatever. That is obviously coming given that central banks are stocking up on gold. I'm saying this is a scam to keep you from holding that gold in your own hands. Eventually, when it is convenint, those currincies will be debased just like every other currency ever has been. That's why they hand out paper. That way they retain control over the gold.
Which is why I don't think a gold backed crypto is a good idea. The value should come from demand for low-friction transactions, not some promise that can be broken. If you want you can still exchange it for gold or silver if you prefer.

You can't have gold in your hand unless you go get it or somebody brings it to you. How do you think you will convert crypto to gold without human contact? But you don't need gold in your hand to spend it via the internet. The supposed advantage of crypto in this regard is illusory.

If I can put an ounce of gold in the hands of my friend in Japan instantly by wire, how is that NOT the same as sending it over the internet? The result is identical. You are grasping at some abstract advantage of crypto that doesn't exist. Gold is fungible. An ounce in Japan is the same as an ounce in the USA. The only time your notion of actually sending things over the internet matters is with things that are not fungible - like artwork or food. And crypto is of no use there. The fungibility of gold is one of the things that makes it ideal for money.

>> No.52754500

To be more clear, what you're sending is a kind of debt. When you send someone gold in the way you describe you make the bank owe someoe the amount of gold you sent. This is also true if you make a bank transfer or any other transaction that puts money into someone's account. That just makes the bank more indebted to the receipient. This isn't the case when you're handing over a gold coin or physically ship it. You might be settling a debt to someone else if you pay for something you want to buy but there is no new debt created in the payment process itself. Same goes for cryptocurrencies. Once you have it in your wallet you own it and that's it.

It's a reasonable assumption that gold and silver will go up in value as they did circa 1980, the recession 12 years ago and even COVID spiked prices.

In a crisis you'd be sitting pretty. At least compared to 99% of the population who trusted in fiat.

But I don't expect this situation to last forever, we're in a globalized economy after all, stackers will be faced with some tough decisions about whether to cash out at the coin shop, HODL, turn it into crypto or just enjoy being rich for a year or two. We don't know how it's going to play out.

And yes, if crypto gets regulated to death and CBDCs are banned I can see metals staging a comeback. You won't be able to use it in a supermarket, but in a farmer's market, yes.

Half of America HATES the other half of the country. If a Democrat says it's night, the Republicans say 'It's day" and visa versa. The chances of any politician leading a complete revolution in the currency system without a civil war is zero. America couldn't even switch to the metric system and that was when the country was a MUCH more harmonious and cooperative place than it is now. A new Fed shit coin ain't going to happen. It is exactly BECAUSE we are a global economy that PMs will be remonetized. The conspiracy to replace the USD as the international currency of trade and reserve isn't even a secret anymore. The BRICS are hard at it and China is leading the way. Yes, the China that we have been kicking in the balls with our trade war is positioning itself to undercut the USD with a gold-backed currency and it has plenty of co-conspirators. When the dollar falters, China will administer the death blow by dumping its pile of dollars on the market in exchange for gold and then issue a gold-backed currency to replace the collapsing dollar.

Once a gold-backed currency is in play, everyone who wants a place at the trade table will have no choice but to pay with gold. Those who can will issue their own gold currency - compatible with the BRICS - and that will include the USA because it needs to participate in the global economy. And even though it might like to do so, it will not be able to bar US citizens from using gold either, once again because of the global economy.

This scenario becomes more certain everyday. the only question in my mind is when.

Yes, if you warehouse your PMs with a third party and write checks on your deposits, there is counter party risk. But not much. I never worry the WU is going to steal my money. The first time they fail to deliver, they go out of business. The risk doesn't come from having some agency warehousing your coin or being an intermediary. It comes when the government steps in and underwrites fractional reserve banking and the creation of massive quantities of credit money.

No, the risk is exactly that your gold is in tome vault you don't have the keys to. Since pepole are lazy and stupid they will trade receipts instead of bothering to get their gold out because it's impractical to ryn an economy like that. Then that receipt becomes the money. Then it is debased. Rinse and repeat. It happened before and it happened every time it was tried. Giving your gold away to trade receipts is cucked. It's goyim money. Always has been and always will be.

I don't recommend getting into crypto right now. I'm all in silver at the moment and the only crypto I hold is to pay for groceries and stuff using my Binance card. I'm already living on buttcoin. Anyway, this is the dip, metals will go up a lot these next few years. So I don't know what your argument is, fiat could go to zero, cryptos could go to zero, gold and silver can never go to zero.

Base metals (copper, e.g.) typically use avoirdupois pounds (and usually ounces - oz) = 28.34952 grams.
In the US, it depends what state you're in for purchasing coins versus art (silver sculptures, e.g.). In WA state, they tax art, but not coins or rounds or bars, which is odd because rounds at least are basically art.

It is very likely that whoever issues the new gold standard will decide the mass of the main unit and everyone else will copy them.

Also seemingly learned today that in Australia if they buy legal tender coins there's a risk of it being easier to put out an order to confiscate it, so at least that one guy buys LT coins from other nations instead.
Will have to look into what it's like for the land I'm in.
