Sorry, IRS came and Sergay escaped the Chainlank Labs, it's over

staking not needed

anon, tell me you verified your wallets on the site already. And I don't mean "Oh yeah, I see the requirements and see my cold storage wallet I never touched should qualify". I mean going to

https://staking.chain.link/

And connecting your wallet and signing a message.

True. Link is officially a boomer coin also. It isn't lowcap anymore that is going to make anyone rich.

I don’t want to connect to metamask until the night before. I don’t like the idea of turning my cold storage wallet into a hot one until I’m able to make the transition to a locked up pool.

this. they are tweeting about this way too often for it not to be something. what is your theory anon? checking the wallet will allow you into the pool in an orderly fashion?

i did but it still doesn't tell you what to do. do we just send our links to an address? do i have to interact directly with the contract or will there be a front end?

The specifics are still being ironed out but will be ready by the 6th

Think the pool will fill quickly? I'm considering sending another 7k to a different address to try for public staking but is there much point, you think?

Are you using a desktop wallet or a hardware wallet? If you're using a desktop wallet, yeah, sorry man you're gonna have to import your keys but make sure you're ready. If you're using a hardware wallet, you'll be fine since the hardware wallet never exposes the keys to your computer. Also note, I had a crisis just last week where my hardware wallet straight up overheated and died on me. I had to scramble to get a new hardware wallet, on top of coordinating with a friend to get ETH since I moved my stuff into a new wallet before Binance blocked purchases from the US w/o KYC but never bothered to move ETH into my wallet.

My only theory is that they're going to use the same link for staking and pools will fill up quick. You should be ready to shoot transactions in record time. When the eligibility site first came out, a ton of OGs were exposed to be completely ignorant on how Web3 apps work. So shooting out a warning or advisory that you shouldn't wait till go time to actually learn how the interface works.

Also consider adding a new Ethereum network if you're using Metamask. The default RPC node (the ethereum node you send your transactions to) is Infura who is now tracking IPs.

it's probably the only thing they have implemented, so it's the only thing they can tweet about

you don't have to make your cold wallet hot at all to use the check eligibility app, but you do have to use some stupid browser workarounds to sign offline. i can go into detail about this and give instructions if there is enough interest. I asked /biz/ about this a few days ago but new /biz/ is worthless so i had to spend hours poking around and trying to find a way. Very stupid that there is no readily available 'sign offline' capabilities in seemingly the entire Web3 app community.

I previously signed the transaction and it all worked, but I tried to do it again just to be entirely sure and now Ledger Live isn't connecting to the DApp.
What do?

Alright, it looks like (ironically) the Chainlink website was down.
By the time I set up Metamask it was already fixed. Still, I'm not taking any chances with this. I've got both Ledger Live and Metamask both set up to stake as soon as I can.
