I’m inclined to agree, during the Weimar inflation event the GSR was 1:100 and is currently values at 1:50 in the US/UK and 1:66 in Euro. I think 1:20 is possible with the squeeze but I think gold has a chance of out performing silver entirely on the fact that banks will accept it in the future to pay off mortgage debt owed.

What, I thought it was 15 to 1.

75oz of silver or 5oz gold to buy a mansion in Berlin circa 1923 is an oft quoted statistic. I think if things don't get absolutely crazy then gold is a safer bet, especially for euros who get raped by VAT.

But then again gold has a greater chance of being banned. Was banned in bongland too, kinda.

>Is he a shill though? I heard some comments on here that said he's just trying to keep the normies away from silver.
There are spastics on here who think silver is the superior metal to own right now because of the speculative price suppression value. It's nothing more than a gamble because no one knows exactly what is going to happen to it, plus its market history hasn't had the gains gold has had. Gold is the only metal that will get you the most yields because the premiums on coins like sovereigns have tight margins and fluctuations in price are greater meaning if you buy low you will get a quicker turn around in a shorter period of time.

Silver stackers talk about silver mooning, but they don't talk about the revaluation of gold. If gold was revalued today you're looking at an enormous increase to today's price of it.

>Based on data from Brent Johnson from Santiago Capital, to go back to a 100% backed Gold Standard, Gold would need to be $81,977 in USD.

I don't think anyone has brought forward the M2 fiat value if the G8 hypothetically revalued silver.

That also brings me to another point. Countries around the world stack gold, not silver. Yes, they have warehouses of silver on hand, but that's the same for all the other metals. What makes gold special is that its THEE metal that countries use for trade if need be as we're seeing now with Ghana. That's not to say gold doesn't have its pitfalls. It also makes it the metal governments will confiscate if they're desperate, so if you're really bothered about that just stack silver as it's too much hassle for them over taking gold.

Ok anons this is it. Dad just asked me to call our LCS and ask "what are the ramifications of buying $50,000 - $100,000 of silver, in terms of price and book keeping, etc"

what ratio of gold to silver do you think he should buy? You bros rarely fail me so actually effort-post first, shitpost second. Thank you.

extraneous info: he is liquidating his business and is not capable of buying a home right now but sold his last home at the absolute peak and wants to safeguard his savings. He knows the dollar is about to literally implode and all by design. I have also silverpilled him, and the amount of OTC/OTE deals has pushed him to inquire about this. I truly believe in silver so im thinking a 25% gold : 75% silver ratio (in dollar value) is good to buy.

Silver has VAT on top of it and for half a century hasn't had the gains as gold has on the precious metals market. BYB has been hearing for nearly two decades about silver mooning and that it will end the fed, there comes a point that the narrative is just that, a narrative.

He's only a shill for the normalfag consensus. He owns more silver than 95% of /pmg/ and makes his own silver bars so calling him an anti-silver shill is ridiculous. His only crime in /pmg/'s eyes is being clueless about the kikes and not believing the "COMEX WILL COLLAPSE SOON" hype.

What he does shill against is stacking for anti-establishment reasons. He has made several videos recently that mock people who claim that the financial system is going to collapse or that the price of silver is going to spike. He also attacks people who mock Britain's royal family or the Royal Mint, which he shills for aggressively despite the low quality of their products and relatively high premiums. His most-disliked and most-watched video was one called "Why gold and silver will NOT save you in a financial collapse!" The comment section was full of Iraqis, Syrians and Venezuelans basically BTFOing his claims and telling their own stories about how their grandmothers' earrings managed to buy them 6 months' rent at a time when a day's meal costed a month's wages in their own currency.

You also have to remember his British perspective on things. Speaking as a Britfag, right now our economy is about to collapse and the government is about to enforce a mandatory capital gains tax on any profits anyone makes over £3000 starting in 2023. That's probably why he wishes he'd started stacking British gold sovereigns - they're VAT (20% tax on everything you buy in the UK, including silver but not including gold) free and capital gains tax free as well.

Stacking silver is for Americans who don't have to pay a 30% premium on everything they buy. If anyone tells you that Europeans should be doing it, they are a shill, unless you sincerely believe that silver is going to quintuple in price in 2 more weeks. People have been saying this since the late 2000s. It's not a stretch to believe that silver shill exist on /pmg/, people mint coins with MLP and wojak on them for God's sake.

cryptocurrencies are on one hand electronic, and on another hand imaginary. To think that someone can own BTC just by remembering a set of words in ones head elevates it beyond the physical domain. So even in worst case scenario, your money is safe so long as you remember your seed.
If by the time you expire and humanity still has not rebuilt a bitcoin-like infrastructure, then you pass the seed phrase on to the next generation, and hope they don't forget it, or else the treasure is gone forever.

Look at all these kikes. I've had enough, i was simply being polite at first but now your motives are clear : you are using gold to defeat and divert from the only real winning move.
Gold is fucking inflationary trash with a 10+ trillions MC owned by banksters. It's fucking SHIT. It has zero moon potential.

From now on fuck goldniggers. Only Silverchads will make it. This general was created for silver, not for your overpriced glowing shit.
It's fucking criminal to shill for gold considering all the latest developments on the silver market.

It was 500 GoldMarks for a house in downtown Berlin. With 86.95 Marks per Oz Gold that is about 5.75oz of Gold for a house. And that was 77oz of silver in Mark form. Very good if you already had it.
However...
They were off the gold mark as we are off the gold standard and the value of the paper mark was 87 Trillion for Gold and 543.75 Billion for silver.
We are also off the gold standard.

Go 30 percent gold, and 70 percent silver. For gold try to buy old American gold coins or European sovereigns if you can. If the government ever tries to take them, you can claim they are a historic collection. For silver just buy all maple leafs since they don't milk spot and have the best security features.

Not a kike and Not trying to divert you from buying silver. Silver will moon but I think gold will pump more because of a classic conversion mistake.
Weimar collapsed Hard only 10 years after going off gold. We are already 90 years on the slow boil and have already lost 99% of purchasing power. But if converting using Gold eagles your looking at 100x with Gold but 40x with silver on the open market. Supply and demand is key and gold historically has more demand. I personally am adjusting my buying to 1:20 GSR but you do you my guy.

Hard to say. This is how the game plays out waiting for cheapies moment. You're buying a monster box worth of silver so the losses of buying high are multiplied. The safe option is to spread out your costs if you're worried about the spot price not dropping.

It's a virtual estate auction, closes in a day. Auctioner really doesn't know what he's doing, some of the titles for listings will just say something like "3 necklaces" and then the fact that they're sterling/gold is in the description which you have to click to read. I have high hopes, will report if/when I buy.
estate sales don't seem very well-attended in my area by how low the prices are, despite how long it's been up. Even moreso as these are online. I'm eyeing a ~25g gold nugget where the bid price is currently less than $200 and was supposed to end this weekend, but was extended another week.

my mom is actually pretty typical boomer, hasnt worked a day in her life besides a stint at the phone company in the late 70s. dad died, and left her a little money and social security, all she did was invest it, and lived off that for the last 40 years. Bull market was kind to her, she was good at it, and has 4 houses and a high net worth. I mentioned silver, and she kind of laughed and said she would never buy it. The system sponsored her, so she cant understand it could come down someday. I never mention silver anymore, i do show her gold i buy from time to time, she approves of that, but would never buy it herself i dont think. I dont try to push it, it does concern me her wealth is tied in equities, but she does have the rental income and hard assets in that real estate. she does bitch about minorities and muslims a lot, but doesnt really mind the jews oddly enough.

ah i see. got a bit confused by the silver bar bezel, which would i suppose turn a regular bar into a pendant.

pretty based that you also do a bit of tailoring. it's a skill every man needs, at least basic versions of it. finally thrifted a real overcoat (wool/cashmere blend) but it had some little rips and is missing a button. fixed the rips and waiting on some old shotgun shell buttons

still, those little details turn a $250-500 coat, that i bought for $15, into a $750 coat

I'm sure I've said this before, but it amazes me that Napoleon I's coins can be bought at such low premiums. He's a man on par with Caeser and Alexander, but you can get his Gold and Silver at better prices than a lot of modern commemoratives.
I suppose it shows where our Civilization is right now when a Star Wars coin is worth more than actual pieces of history.

The 15 to 1 was when US legislation set the ratio and even then it didnt hold we. A Since the end of the 19th century when the US abandoned the bimetallic standard lowest the ratio ever got was 20 to 1.

One of them on my dad's side was really into my bogdonaff coin. He seems to like coins a little bit. My mother's father collects coins casually. He's given me a lot and I've given him a few also. He has a large collection of silver dollars that I'm set to inherit. I hope I don't get them for a long time.

Perhaps. I do get an endorphin high from getting coins that I like.

Especially gold ones. Only $400~ for a napoleon 20 francs. High 700s for a 40 francs. Star wars coins are kept high because they're listed for that much when they go on sale. But I guarantee that the napoleon will be worth more in the long run than a baby Yoda coin. I've seen some star wars coins stay up for sale on reddit for weeks at a time while every napoleon I've seen (a rare sight on pmsforsale) sell out within an hour.

>I do get an endorphin high from getting coins that I like.
I think that's a feature of any kind of collecting. It's technically not true addiction, but it's pretty similar.
I'm willing to bet there is some connection, albeit a minor and more subtle one.
>Give it 1800 years and my napoleon will be worth $600
You laugh, but it wouldn't surprise me if Napoleon's in lower Grades are selling for 5x-10x spot in a century from now, given that you could still get them out of circulation for face 100 years ago.
You do make me wonder what coin collecting will be like in 1800 years from now, though. I know coins from people like Napoleon will definitely still be sought after even that far in the future, so part of the allure of buying one is also to know that you're holding something that only extremely wealthy and privileged collectors will own in a millennium from now.
>But I guarantee that the napoleon will be worth more in the long run than a baby Yoda coin.
The current paradigm is unsustainable, but it'll most likely be sustained for longer than you realize.
>I've seen some star wars coins stay up for sale on reddit for weeks at a time while every napoleon I've seen (a rare sight on pmsforsale) sell out within an hour.
Star Wars coins aren't really meant for numismatists, the primary demographic that buys them are people who collect memorabilia for whatever Franchises the coins are for.
For example: look at this depressed childless woman, she bought a Sailor Moon themed coin (that I've never seen listed on any Numismatic catalogues or seen for sale on any Bullion Websites) purely because she wanted more Sailor Moon merch to try to fill the void in her life created by not having kids:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=ImBchBrCJpg
If you put these sorts of things up for resale in places only coin collectors will see them, they won't sell as fast as they will if they marketed towards their intended audience.

Yeah I wonder which coins of mine will be the multi-thousand dollar purchase of a future human. Maybe the double, half, etc. Pre 33 eagles will be if America is viewed as a Rome or Greece like nation in the future. Perhaps the Sovereigns or Spanish escudos could be sought after and viewed in the same way we view an old Roman solidus. I bet nazi coins will be worth a lot too. No doubt about that one. They'll probably view Hitler as an Alexander or Napoleon by then as the casualties he caused will have been long healed/ forgotten to time.
>For example: look at this depressed childless woman, she bought a Sailor Moon themed coin because she wanted more Sailor Moon merch to try to fill the void in her life from not having kids

Or look at it another way. If you bought $ 1000 of silver in 2000 that silver wpuld be worth $ 3,5000 to $ 4,000 today. The puchasing power of $ 1000 in 2000 is the equivalent of $ 1700 today.

>Maybe the double, half, etc. Pre 33 eagles will be if America is viewed as a Rome or Greece like nation in the future.
I've heard that America is analogous to Rome (large, powerful Hegemonic republic plagued by class struggle and decadance, gradually becoming empire) while Europe (smaller states that originated much of the bedrock of their culture, but have since stagnated after centuries of war with each other) is analogous to the Greek City States. Going off of the analogy most sought after coins for Europe will be mostly be from the Renaissance up to WWII (when Europe was relevant) and the most popular American coins will either be stuff that doesn't exist yet or the rarer coins from the 19th and early 20th Centuries.
Thalers/8 Reales/Crowns will almost definitely be our civilization's equivalent of Drachmae.
>I bet nazi coins will be worth a lot too. No doubt about that one.
Makes me wonder if Zinc Reichspfennigs will be extremely valuable in the distant future purely because nearly all of them will have corroded away into nothing by then.
>That explains why chibi coins and Bart Simpson coins stay for sale for so long on pmsforsale. They should be listed somewhere else.
I only realized that these coins weren't meant for traditional numismatists when I heard someone else here point it out a while ago.
If you ever encounter someone wanting to sell one of these coins in real life, I'd advise you to tell them to sell to a store specializing in collectibles so they get a semi-good deal instead of being laughed out of a Coin Shop.

Yep just want to do a small project on an outcropping gold vein I found, crush size I might tweak but I want to use a hammer mill so I'm aiming for like atleast 50% under 2mm, I was going to use a ball mill but they're quite expensive and thought this could be alright for a small test at this stage, not ruling out ball mill if it's needed but someone told me hammer crusher will produce enough fine powder for what I need.

The sluice will feed into a centrifugal concentrator so the sluice is really only a coarse gold/nugget trap.

I think metals will go up in real terms. An ounce of silver was $50 in 1980 after the hunt squeeze, but every metal went up then cause it looked like hyperinflation was gonna take off.

Alastair MacLeod uses the 5oz gold thing a lot, Rafi Farber talks about 75oz silver for a house also. I think it originates from a book by Stefan Zweig.

ngl i'm fucking fed up with scrapmaxxing on ebay. It's full of complete retards and scammers. Out of the past 10 orders, i had to send back 7 of them....
>2 "forgot" some of the items
>2 marked an incorrect weight (and we don't speak a gram or two missing, literally half the weight wasn't there)
>3 said it had specific hallmarks when in truth it was completely different stuff

I don't even get how they operate/make a profit. I mean, ebay always side with the buyer, no matter what. Each time it costed those retards 20 bux in shipping fees to send + then get the item returned at their expense... Are they simply preying on the occasional trisomic who will literally forget to weight his items/check it's indeed the stuff they were supposed to purchase?
It make no sense to me..
Oh, and they ALL were 100% positive feedbacks.

I've better things to do than spend half my days at the post office constantly returning all this bullcrap back. Sorry scrapfren but it's truly unsufferable over here.
